This (mostly Nick, but a wee bit of Tay and Nick together, for good measure!) graphic was created exclusively as a Birthday gift for my wonderful best friend, confidante, and partner-in-crime, @hrh-henrywales . She's an amazing, very loyal friend, an incredible person, and so very special. I've had a very difficult few months, and in so many ways, she's been my rock during a truly challenging time. She's a tiny, pocket rocket of a Venezuelan firecracker who deserves the absolute world.

It would be safe to say I've had a very...challengjng couple of months since mid-February, during which the sheer fragility of life has become increasingly apparent to me. So I took time out to deal with a lot of personal stuff and didn’t have time to think or even draw breath, for much of the time, let alone come up with any new graphics.

But today - 7th April is my Birthday! So I thought to myself, "What better way to celebrate with all my friends here and cheer myself up in the process than by creating a new graphic to celebrate the love of one of our favourite couples?"

And so I did...

I'll be back soon. I just need to get my head a bit more above the water first. Thank you for all the lovely messages. They mean the world to me. 💜

Happy 6 months of RWRB movie!

When Red, White, and Royal Blue came out back in 2019, I read it every day during my 90 minutes (each way!) Train commute to work, until it was finished. Every morning, I'd immerse myself in it, feeling cheated when I had to wait a few hours to read the next few chapters, and every night, I'd repeat the process. I loved it so much, in fact, that as soon as I'd completed it, I started it from the very beginning again.

I rarely do that. But when I do, it's always with books that clobber me over the head and deliver a sucker punch of emotions. Casey's incredible book and their unique style of writing were hugely impactful on my life and changed it in ways I couldn’t even have begun to imagine.

Fast forward to the movie announcement...Not gonna lie, I honestly vacillated between being so excited to a feeling of trepidation and dare I say it - deep dread... What if they ruined my new favourite book? What if the actors portraying Alex and Henry just didn’t fit for me? What if they changed it beyond all recognition and..I ended up hating it? We all know of at least one movie that started out life as a book, and was ruined beyond all repair when it hit the big screen. But then...on 11th August 2023, my Bestie @hrh-henrywales and I watched it together, and...all my doubts disappeared. It was just everything I'd been hoping for and so much more. Absolute perfection.

So thank you, Casey, for writing a book that has changed hundreds of thousands (dare I even say, millions?) of lives, and has helped so many LGBTQ+ people who previously felt marginalised and at times very lonely, to feel seen and appreciated, and celebrated for being exactly who and what they are. Thank you, Matthew, for vividly bringing to life Casey's wonderful story and, most importantly, keeping the essence of what makes Red, White, and Royal Blue so truly special and so uniquely ours.

And last, but by no means least, thank you, Taylor and Nick, for capturing our hearts and being our perfect Alex and Henry. We all love all four of you and the rest of the wonderful cast so much. Now...can we have our sequel? Pleaseee?

Seblainintine's Extended Weekend 2024

A fortnight exactly to go, so without further ado, here's what you need to know.

The Rules

When?

The event runs from Wednesday 14th February until 23:59 (of your own timezone) on Sunday 18th February 2024.

Who can take part?

Anyone and everyone who shares our love of Seblaine!

What can we submit?

Anything, as long as it is Seblaine-related! Fics, Graphics, Gifs, Gifsets, Videos, Manips, Playlists, Lyrics - anything you like as long as it fits the themes! I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Please remember to use #seblaineworld and #seblainintines2024 within the first five tags, and also put @seblaineworld somewhere in your posts, since we all know just how flaky Tumblr can be about tags!

Please be sensible and considerate. We're all very well aware that not everyone shares our love of Seblaine, and even within our own tiny (but always fierce!) Seblainer Fandom, there are those who don't enjoy mature content, so please ensure you tag everything that you submit, appropriately.

Can I cross-post/combine themes?

Yes! You can combine any of the three themes that you want. And if your contribution does combine multiple themes, just remember to properly tag all themes used. There are no set days for the three themes this time.

Perhaps you'll want to write about the journey they take to finally getting together, some of our talented angst-loving Seblainers might want to write or illustrate something relating to one or both of them ending up heartbroken - before putting them back together. Or could it be about Seblaine celebrating Valentine's Day itself? It’s completely up to you, as long as Roses and Chocolate, Love Language, or Red and Blue are clearly shown as the main theme. You can, of course, mix two or all three of the themes in one submission if you like.

I can’t wait to see what you all come up with. They're on a Valentine's vacation in Venice - the other City of Love in the announcement graphic, but I'm sure all of our incredibly talented Seblainers will come up with some wonderful and imaginative scenarios.

Can I post on any day during the event?

Yes! You can post on any day or all five days.

Do I need to submit something for each theme?

Absolutely not. If you want to contribute something for all three themes, then as stated above, of course you can, but it's not a requirement at all. I know everyone has busy lives, so just do what you can when you can.

Can I post a WIP or work that fits the themes even if I started it before the Seblainintine's Extended Weekend 2024 announcement?

Absolutely! I have done this before and feel it's a great way to refresh creativity, so feel free to post anything you've already started, providing it fits the themes!

When do we start posting?

As soon as it becomes Wednesday 14th February 2024 in your own timezone, post your work to your Tumblr blog, and as mentioned above, please tag it #seblaineworld and #seblainintines2024 and make sure those two are in your first five tags. Please also put @seblaineworld somewhere in your post.

If you're going to be posting your work to another site like AO3 or ff.net, post a properly tagged link on your Tumblr.

There will be a Seblainintine's Extended Weekend 2024 Collection added to AO3 next week.

Can I post late?

Yes! I know how time can occasionally run away from us all, so everything posted will be reblogged until Friday February 23rd February.

No problem! Again, because Tumblr can be (very!) erratic, just send us an Ask or message if we haven't reblogged your work within 24 hours of you posting it, and one of us will get onto it right away.

Hey, Seblainers! Hellooooo, everyone else!

Bliadhna Mhath Ùr, to you all, I hope everyone's year has started in a positive way. Well...it's that time again, folks! Seblainintine's Weekend is coming up soon, but...this year, we are doing things a bit differently.

As I'm sure you've all noticed, Valentine's Day falls on a very awkward day this year. Many countries see it as bad luck to celebrate anything before the actual day, and holding it after the event seems completely redundant...

So...this time we are having an extended celebration of our beautiful boys and their love, running from Wednesday 14th until 23:59 on Sunday 18th February.

There are only three themes for this event, and as always, you can write/create for one, two, or all three of the themes, and you can, of course, combine the themes in any way you like.

Red and Blue

Bliadhna Mhath Ùr (Happy New Year), everybody! I'm kicking off 2024 with this RWRB Motion picture graphic that was created exclusively as a gift for my lovely friend @nicholas_and_taylor who inspired it. She wanted to see Alex and Henry at Alex' iconic New Year's Eve (or if you're Scottish like me - Hogmanay!) party, so here we have them flirting up a storm shortly before the new year begins and Henry shocks oblivious Alex by passionately kissing him - thus teaching him 'the difference between Rugby and Football,' as they share their first kiss under the watchful (doe) eyes of the wee Bambi...😏

It's my Bambi's last outing for the time-being, so thank you for all the lovely messages about him. I'm glad he made people smile and that his double meaning wasn’t lost on anyone! As you can see, Bas and Blaine have a new addition to their little family this Christmas. Harry, the Corgi puppy that Sebastian gifted to Blaine just before he proposed three Christmases ago, has been joined by an equally boisterous Corgi puppy called Boq! Yes, of course Blaine named him - just be glad he didn't end up Fiyero or Puck! ;)

Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates! I'm ending this year with one last bonus chapter-inspired motion picture graphic. This one features newly engaged Alex and Henry on Christmas Day 2023.

Henry decides their main Christmas tree needs more lights added before everyone arrives for Christmss dinner, so together, they start winding them around the tree. All is going according to plan, until Henry spots a sprig of mistletoe and mischievously holds it aloft so that he can kiss his Fiancé..But then everything very quickly goes to hell in a handbasket! Alex wraps his arms around Henry's waist to deepen the kiss but forgets to drop the lights before doing so, and you've guessed it - they end up tangled together and the more they try to free themselves the worse the giggling mess of Christmas lights and limbs becomes.

So let's leave Alex and Henry looking forward to enjoying celebrating their first Christmas as Fiancés with their loved ones - as soon as they've stopped laughing and kissing long enough to untangle themselves, that is!

Another in my series of Motion picture graphics inspired by Casey's incredible RWRB bonus chapter. Christmas Eve 2023: After telling their parents the news that they're now engaged, Alex and Henry decide to each open one present as previously agreed.

They both choose to open one of their gifts from Ellen and find inside cosy Cashmere Christmas sweaters that they immediately try on, agreeing to wear them to Christmas Dinner.
