im starting to get really annoyed at the thought terminating cliche i see in this website that “labels are fake, words dont mean anything” wow, holy shit, what else did you learn in your intro to sociology 101?
its so lazy, its such a refusal to actually do the hard work of giving meaningful answers. it’s just giving up, its throwing your hands in the air and saying that you cant be arsed to make sense of the world and you dont even care, its anti intellectual. its an admittance that none of what you believe in makes any sense since it cannot be coherently explained.
whats more, its false! words mean things, that is the main thing words are known for. just because something is socially constructed doesnt mean its fake, for christ sake. we gotta stop this dumb idea that just because something is “arbitrary” or not based on universal objective principles therefore it doesnt exist.
whats more, words having meanings is actually super convenient for when it comes the time to communicate things, or when we want to understand the world, when we want to give it shape. but i guess we dont care about doing that anymore.
