Hey guys, it’s been a long time coming but I will soon be revamping the handy dandy reylo art prints + commissions masterlist. 

It hasn’t been updated since February 2018 so some links are broken and a few artists are either no longer accepting commissions or have closed their blog/store.

But instead of publishing the new list here where it gets lost amid my other posts, I will be putting it up on the new @reylo-art-market !!

The reylo community has grown exponentially since the first movie (thanks Rian) but I’m still seeing people having trouble finding this sort of stuff and I’ve always loved supporting artists, so I thought consolidating everything might make things easier 😊

What made you start shipping Reylo? I’m asking as a fellow Reylo. I’m just curious 😃

Let’s start with the movie. I watched the trailer for TFA with my husband and went to TFA fully expecting Rey to be Luke’s daughter. When the bridal carry scene came on, I was like ‘huh’ but didn’t think much about it. Then the interrogation scene came on, with Kylo’s face so close to Rey’s and I declared “so the incest saga continues” (i was into luke/leia before ROTJ dashed that). However, I still believed Rey and Kylo were cousins but after about a week, I moved on from the film, turning my obsessions back to Sherlock (specifically the Adlock Yacht) and my own comics.

March 2016. I was browsing randomly through deviantart when I came across this Star Wars comic by @liberlibelula and I laughed my butt off. It was the first time I thought “Wow! People think they’re not cousins?” But it wasn’t an insult or anything. I was genuinely curious. I searched for more Rey and Kylo in google and came across thw term “reylo”. Being that I alreadt had a tumblr for my adlock fandom, I decided to searcg the term in tumblr and this is literally what happened:

I got bombarded with wonderful fanart, fics, but most importantly, meta and theories that finally got me onboard that ship and i have not looked back ever since :) thanks for the ask!

Ah, Modern AUs. My bread and butter. A gentle warning before we dive in - I LIVE for ‘angst with a happy ending,’ so that’s the umbrella the vast majority of these fall under. So yes, you will suffer, but you will be happy about it.

Left Handed Kisses (18K, E, Laywers, Enemies to Lovers) Ben is a criminal attorney. Rey is a district attorney. They hate each other(until they don’t). All I can say is, litigate me, please. *

The Food of Love (60K, E, Musicians) In a nutshell: classical musical can be really hot and I’ll never look at a cello the same way again. This hits so many sweet spots, not the least of which is the incredible UST.

Mitan, Midi (83K, E, French Countryside ft. feelings and food) Listen. This fic changed my life. No, I’m not exagerating and no, I won’t elaborate. (God, I want to write fic of this fic) *

But I Do (36K, E, Married at First Sight) Ben & Rey get left at the altar and decide to marry each other. It’s not a slow burn, it’s a quick ignite *fire emoji*

A Proposal By Any Other Name (188K, E, Leap Year AU) I spent an entire day reading this with no breaks because I refused to get up from the sofa until they got together. You will laugh and you will cry and you will be thinking about the ending for the rest of time. Guaranteeeed. *

Cupcake Wars (36K, E, Bakers) The one where they hatef*ck a lot. And they bake. That’s it, that’s the fic. (Delicious).

long way home (nonstop to takodana) (19K, T, Ex-lovers) is a beautiful take on the post-TLJ breakup angst. The way the author weaves canon elements into a modern setting is wonderful. The tension between them is dotted with these incredibly emotionally charged moments of pure heartache that had me clutching my chest. So, so good.

Carry You In My Core (That Voice I Adore) (35K, E, Opera singers) I told you classical music was sexy. Opera just exacerbates that. Don’t kink shame. Anywhomst, this is GORGEOUS, read it, do it now.

a place to go (52K, E, Cabin setting, and there was only one bed) All the best tropes, and a mug of hot cocoa to boot. I can’t resist a good ‘snowed in’ AU, especially not when the inital antagonism slowly melts into delicious sexual and romantic tension.

Wild Montana Skies (6K, M, Ranch) They’re a cowboy and a cowgirl with a lot feelings, okay? This author’s writing is my taste in everything.

Head over feet (104KE, Studen/Teacher, Fake Dating) The fake dating graduate student/teacher AU with my favourite everything. The build-up, the characterization, the pining, the smut, the inevitable, soul-crushing heartbreak when these two behave like emotionally constipated idiots…. GAH. Reader, I weeped. *

Play to Win (161K, E, Professional Gamers) There’s nothing sexier than good world-building. This is so fleshed out and detailed and so steeped in real emotion, you’ll feel like you’re reading a standalone novel. There’s also a lot of texting, which I personally love.

Capitalism is immoral (6k, E, Politicians) The one where they’re on different sides of the political field, but also very smitten with each other. Disgustingly cute.

The North Shore (125K, E, Strangers to Lovers) Soooo, Notting Hill is my second favourite movie of all time. This is a Notting Hill AU. Naturally, I love it disgusting amounts. It’s the feel-good fic to end all feel-good fics and you will fall desperately in love with this Ben. Promise.

Hanging By a Moment (44K, E, Hate/Resentment to Love) It’s hard to talk about this one without giving too much away. It’s important that you don’t know all the facts before going in, because neither does Ben, and that’s the problem. It’s a really beautiful story about grief and chronic illness and kindess and Ben goes on a profound emotional journey. So good.

Peacock (72K, E, Neighbour, Fake Engagement) Oh god, this fic is what happens when all the best tropes get fake married and have a fake baby. They’re neighbours. They hate each other. They have to pretend to love each other because, suprise they’re engaged! (pretend haha sure)
