It shows that I have one incoming ask, but when I enter my asks, there is none.
I don’t know what is happening, so, if any of you wrote something to me, I apologise, I have no idea how to fix this. Maybe you could try writing in the comments or directly?

I didn’t know Die wrote the English himself, I thought big gurl was a mistranslation. How do you know this? Thanks for adding it!
I don’t know for sure if he writes himself on Instagram, I just assume it.
Sometimes his captions on Instagram are in Japanese only, but much more often they are in both Japanese and English, and sometimes even only in English.
As much as I know, Die is believed to be the best English speaker among Dir En Grey guys, so I assume he writes his captions himself.

Everytime I hear The Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson Those!Light just pops up in my head. There is some bitter arrogance in this song that reminds me of him instantly. It is also kind of relevant to canon Light Yagami.

I don’t like how this art has turned out, but I don’t think I know how to make it better.
He doesn’t need an introduction, I guess.

Sorry, it doesn’t make sense to me.
If, as you say, it’s all about the interpretation, why do you say the narrative created by a sexist writer is what shows Misa as delusional and obnoxious?
It seems to me that the narrative shows us Misa’s personality from different sides, giving us every tool to understand her and think of her as someone far more complex than just a stupid obsessive girl. If the purpose of the narrative was to show her as simply irritating and obsessive, we wouldn’t have been told anything that would explain her or make us feel compassionate towards her.
If a reader doesn’t see her complexity, isn’t that the reader’s fault?
Also, I have decided to make a separate post about this issue. I think I’m onto something.
I’m hoping this dialogue didn’t sound rude or mean, I respect you and your opinion, but I’m also very determined to figure out the truth about this issue. Sorry about long writing!
I still haven’t reread or rewatched Death Note, but I’m left speechless by some posts lately that claim Misa is a “poorly written” character.
For me, Misa is one of the deepest and most complex characters in the whole Death Note.
I don’t like her, but through the story I think I see her.
I see a lost girl who desperately avoids taking responsibility. She wants someone strong and safe to lead her. She craves love and connection, but doesn’t know how to get it in a healthy way - or maybe she knows, but is terrified of rejection, to the point that she lies to herself (remember her coming out of that meeting with Kyomi, telling Mogi that she “won”).
Really, a genuine question, is Misa really “badly written”?

I have a genuine question.
You are welcome to answer in the comments or asks if you want.
What exactly makes you think Ohba’s writing was misogynistic towards Misa? Please, point out particular situations in Death Note plot that made you think so.

I’m afraid I disagree with you completely.
It’s not the narrative that portrays Misa as obnoxious - it’s Light’s opinion of her. Also, I don’t see why the narrative should teach people how to think about a certain character.
I also don’t see how fanservice and comic relief makes mockery of her trauma. A character can be tragic and funny simultaneously. The parts that can be called “fanservice” can be also interpreted as a part of her personality - Misa is flirtatious and likes to get attention through being attractive. And in comic relief - I doubt she can match Matsuda and L. How is comic relief offensive?
I don’t see why the narrative should have interest in Misa (and anyone else) besides her involvement with the storyline. Even L is less explained than her. This is a story about Light Yagami, he should be explained, his story should make a meaningful statement, and if nobody else is explained, I think that’s completely fine.
I still haven’t reread or rewatched Death Note, but I’m left speechless by some posts lately that claim Misa is a “poorly written” character.

I tried to draw L some time ago.
It was not a success I wanted, but I try to love him the way he is. It’s not his fault I abandoned drawing for such a long time 🤷🏻

hi, how are you?.
Hi! I’m fine, thank you.
Right now I’m concentrated on my health and some other important things.
Unfortunately, I have no energy to be active in this blog now.
I remember about the stuff I didn’t answer to, especially one long ask, where a person was disagreeing with my points about Misa’s confinement.
To answer that ask, I felt the need to dive deeper into that topic, and that means to rewatch Death Note and reread the manga, which I just can’t do at the moment.
I certainly feel that this topic of morality/distinction between Light and L is worth to explore. I have ideas, but not words to express them, yet.
I hope one day I can do it.
Have a happy holiday season, anon!

I have somehow lost an ask.
I am sorry, I have no idea what happened. Did I delete it accidentally?
But thanks to my habit of making screenshots, I still have it.
Tumblr media
I have answered 6 and 8 here!
9. When is your birthday?
April 19.
4. Do you sleep on your back, stomach or side?
I’m rotating like a helicopter.
21. How was your day today?
It’s been nice, thank you! I’m very much looking forward for today’s event - lightning up Christmas trees and decorations in the whole city.
22. How much sleep did you get last night?
Maybe 7? And I am still very sleepy, but that’s what you get when you live in a place with no sun.
27. What's your favorite book? Or just one you've read a few times?
I love many books, but couldn’t call them favourites. The one that I’ve read many times - “The Hiding Place” by Corrie Ten Boom. It’s based on real events, about a woman from the Netherlands who saved or helped to save about 800 Jews from nazis during WW2.
29. Does it take you a long time to make decisions?
Yes, if I don’t feel confident about something it could take ages.
40. Do you like the beach? Do you prefer it sunny or cloudy?
Yes, I love the beach! In every season. Morning fog, blissful summer days, red sunsets, snow above the sea.
We have so few sunny days here, that I certainly prefer them.
42. Tag 5 of your favorite blogs
@yridenergyridenergy I think I will be forever thankful for finding out about European Tour on time thanks to this blog!
@nateriverswife I dare to say we agree on many things about Death Note and the fandom, and I love this person’s bravery to straightforwardly express unique opinions!
@crypticfandomtrash This blog has one of the best Death Note headcanons I’ve ever read!
@baranedizille I deeply admire their drawing style, especially Death Note art!
@zimthandmade They have made the whole new universe for Wammy’s boys! I love it and couldn’t help but reread it every time I see a piece reblogged.
46. What do you need when you're sad?
Usually that’s the sign I need sleep. Do I go to sleep then? No.
Thank you for asking, and I hope you have a nice day as well! 🖤

Torturing suspects till they confess is not good behavior. L is like a super cop who doesn’t give a fuck about human rights
If L didn’t care about human rights, the easiest option would be simply to kill Misa and cover it up as an accident.
Yes, torturing is not good, but there are times when there are no good options, and even not doing anything is a bad option.
All you can do is choose something that is less bad.
I’ve tried to explain here why I think L had no other options. If you have an idea what he could’ve done instead, feel free to share, I am genuinely interested to hear your opinion!
