Monday check-in!
Tumblr media
I’ve just finished tearing out the old growth from some neglected planters and seeded it with a Theodore Payne hummingbird mix. I’m planting a little late in the season, so we’ll see how that goes. Worst case scenario, I grab some sage and put it there instead.
Been reading Wild Suburbia by Barbara Eisentstein for native plant planting tips and really enjoying it. It’s very straight-forward and dispels some gardening myths. No cardboard grass-smothering for this yard! Don’t want to encourage too much fungal growth in the soil.
I hope everyone is having a lovely Monday!

Finally up and ready!
Sand & Flourish is a blog dedicated to Southern California chaparral and desert aesthetic with some witchiness served on the side. I’ll be writing about and adding artwork of California native plants, gardening, desert aesthetic clothing, tea, as well as general personal work I make.
This blog will also happily follow accounts that post California native gardening and horticulture, as well as subjects like sustainability, fashion both new and second-hand, tea, and fun overall witchiness.
Sending love and warmth!
Sand & Flourish
