My finished website in mobile view
Here is my finished website in mobile view. It is vital that my website looks just as good on a mobile phone as it does on a desktop, as many people will be using a phone to view it instead.
I am super happy with how it looks! I had to make a few changes with Justin as at first it did not work very well and all of the elements of the page were squished together. After we changed some coding, it now works well!
I feel that it is easy to use, clean & simple, as well as showcasing my images well. I am extremely happy with the finished product.

Contacting photographers about assisting work
Tumblr media
Although I have already had contact with Sarah Brown on Instagram whereby I interviewed her (and briefly mentioned about assisting), I decided to email her with my covering letter and CV to see if i might be able to assist her in an upcoming shoot.

Further experimentation with my website
Now that i have finished the main bulk of my website, I have decided to experiment further with the layout and aesthetic of it. I felt that my ‘contact’ and ‘about me’ pages were rather bland and lacked colour in comparison to the aesthetic of my work.
So I decided to try and add some more examples of my work in a creative manner. This included adding a main feature image, creating a banner which included my work & also using my images to make a title. All of which I felt were rather successful, but my favourite is the top example. I have used this method for both my pages and I feel that it adds more texture & intrigue.

Website Aesthetic
Now that I have thought about the navigation & function of the website, I have started to add some finishing touches to make the pages even more intriguing and to showcase my work.
Initially my home page just had the relevant information on it, however I have now added one of my images as a featured image so that the page has more colour & texture.
I will continue to do this to other pages.

Website Navigation
After researching many other websites & taking inspiration from these, I have realised that navigation of a website is very key. If the visitor is unable to navigate the website easily, or cannot find the information they are looking for, they will get frustrated and eventually leave the page. As well as this, it does not paint a very good picture of you as a professional person.
Therefore, I have really tried to ensure that my site is easy to use. Everything has separate titles and folders. The visitor can reach the home page via my logo or the ‘home’ button. I personally think that it flows well & is clear, but I will ask my peers to check this as well. This means that I will get further feedback from them.

Elements I have found challenging so far when building my website...
Tumblr media
On my home page, I have added a slider with two images on each slide. I feel that this is a really nice thing to have as it immediately provides an overview of my work to the website visiter. It also automatically scrolls through.
However, as it is not the ‘featured’ image of this page (in Wordpress terms), I am left with a gap between my logo and slider which I personally feel is slightly too big.
With Justin I have tried a variety of different techniques to make this gap slightly smaller. We have tried adding in a 1 pixel x 1 pixel image as my ‘featured image’ and we have also messed around with the coding to change it. Although we did manage to sort it via the coding, it then ruined the layout of the page on a phone, which of course is very important.
We came to the conclusion that it is just impossible to change, as it is built into the website theme. Although this does annoy me, it is the only thing that I would change about my website so far & I am pretty happy with the rest.

Building My Website
Here are some screenshots of my website so far created on Wordspress! I am actually really pleased with how it is going at the moment. I now have all of the pages that I need, it is just a case of fine tuning it and adding more images/text.
I am happy with the navigation at the moment, it feels easy to use and simple. Also I have checked that it works well on mobile as well!
I am also considering adding a landing page to my website as it creates a nice entrance for the viewer and immediately clarifies my brand. I will speak to Justin about the best way to do this.

CV
Tumblr media
Here is a screenshot of my CV so far.
I am actually very happy with the design now, as it took me a while to play around with it until I found something which looked professional, clear to read and would fit onto one page.
I feel that this design achieves all of these things and also carries my branding. I still need to add my references and check through it all, but this is my final design.

CV Inspiration
Here are some examples of creative CVs which I think work really well.
They are all:
- Simple
- Clear
- Easy to read
- Mainly black & white
- Geometric
I will be taking inspiration from these for my own CV design.

Letterhead
Tumblr media
After creating my professional paperwork, I also started to experiment with making a letterhead. Much like my paperwork, I wanted to keep it simple, but effective, as well as ensuring it is in-keeping with my branding. Furthermore, I did not want to add colour or too much black for printing purposes.
This is the design I came up with and I am very pleased with it!

Professional Paperwork
Here is my branded professional paperwork comprising of an estimate, invoice, model & property release forms.
I have decided to keep it nice and simple seeing as it is paperwork and should be taken seriously. Also I want it to be nice and clear. I have also made sure that the design/layout of each document is consistent throughout them all.
I need to double check that my invoice is correct, but apart from that, I am done with this section.

Postcard Designs
As I had not yet decided on my business card design, I had been putting off doing my postcard design as well. But now that I have achieved the look I want for my business cards, I decided it was a good time to create these as well.
I have kept them very simple and also in-keeping with the rest of my branding. Furthermore, I decided to make more than one single design (much like my logos and business cards) as it makes things more exciting and intriguing.
I am very happy with these and think that I will stick with this design for the time being.

Final Business Card Designs
Here are my final business card designs. It has taken a lot of experimentation and playing around with composition to achieve these designs but I am finally happy with them! I feel that they each go together well as a series of cards and showcase my work accurately. As well as this, I think that they portray my brand in the way that I wanted.
