Exactly. That wasn't you.
And if you wanted to kill us, you could've. Easily. I think you could've blinked and done us in just like that. But you still managed to find that last shred of control you had in you to stop yourself in time.
Ah don't wanna talk about it, alright?

You objected at first, remember? Even though you eventually agreed, I should've listened.
In the end, there were multiple variables at play and you shouldn't beat yourself up for simply being one of them.
Ah don't wanna talk about it, alright?

Yeah, well, way back when even my own copies tried to kill me once.
It took a couple years, but they don't anymore. And look, if I hadn't insisted that you absorb our powers in the first place, none of it would've happened.
Ah don't wanna talk about it, alright?

Ah, no, I didn't actually mean alcohol. Unless that's what you'd like, but obviously not.
Water? Tea? Anything?
Ah don't wanna talk about it, alright?

Glad to hear it.
Your abilities are one of the better-suited ones to handle the Sentinels, too. Granted, they've probably had a few upgrades since we last saw them, but they're not the only ones that's gotten stronger. I trust you to watch my back and I hope you'll allow me to do the same.
"Well of course. My mutation isn’t exactly defensive but I’ve learned more about it. What I can do with my body, taught myself to fight. I’ll protect them with my life. My fellow mutants are all that I’ll be willing to die for."

Whether they do or not, what matters most is that we don't let a single one get to Rogue and Warpath.
And, of course, the child.
"We’ll see. Things don’t usually live up to my expectations. Least of all the future."

What Happens in Vegas ☁ Team Bravo
Characters: Roxana Vasile, Marie D’Ancanto, James Proudstar, Raven Darkholme
Mentions of: Melissa Colbourne, etc.
Timeline: Present
Location: [on their way to] Las Vegas, Nevada
Receiving word of a mission put you in auto-pilot. You dropped everything you were doing, met with the rest of your team, and off you went. To places you’ve maybe never been to with people you may not necessarily get along with. People went on missions for different reasons—from going for the thrill to going for absolutely no other reason than because it was required of them—whatever it was, a search-and-rescue put another mutant’s life on your hands and it was your duty to make sure the Sentinels didn’t reach them first.
The news interrupted Roxana in the middle of one of her breaks, where she sat in her office, six bites into her sandwich. Briefly lamenting that she’d have to throw away yet another perfectly good meal without finishing, the brunette swallowed and reached for a final sip of water. Truthfully, it wasn’t the worst way to get notified. She’d heard stories of a fellow mutant finding out while in the shower. She really was in no place to complain.
Dumping her brunch ceremoniously in the trash, Roxana conjured up three clones to alert the rest of the team and provide them with their meeting spot. After exiting her office together, she and her clones separated, with her flipping through the folder she’d been given. The brunette quickly read through the contents, mind racing to come up with a solid plan to ensure her team a successful mission. So absorbed was she in her thoughts that Roxana didn’t notice the person in front of her until she’d already bumped into them. The person wasn’t much taller than her though, so she was able to catch her footing in time to avoid a particularly ungraceful fall.
Clutching the folder to her chest and sizing up who’d she’d run into, she blinked in surprise once she was finally able to gather her bearings. She recognized that face—it was among the three assigned with her on the mission. James.
“Sorry!” she exclaimed, “I didn’t see you there.”
How he had gotten to their meeting spot first was the question. Brows furrowing in contemplation, Roxana figured that he must have heard about it through the entire ruckus that swarmed the mission. His hearing was, of course, especially exceptional.
Silence accompanied the two of them for a few minutes as they waited for the rest of their teammates, until an idea permeated her thoughts. She turned to her companion with a thoughtful expression, “Would you be opposed to sharing some of your powers with Marie? I figure it’d help with the search part of the search-and-rescue.”
Normally she wouldn’t ask a student for a favor like this, but it would drastically improve their mission’s success rate if he agreed. And if she gave some of hers as well… the mission would be a hell of a lot easier. “Don’t feel like you have to, though. I’m not ordering you or anything.” She smiled at the younger mutant and encouraged him to think it over while they waited. They could talk about it with Rogue on the plane later.
The patches of brown and blonde a little while later alerted the two of their other teammates’ arrival and once they were closer, Roxana lead them into the team’s designated plane. Once they were all seated, she launched into a short mission briefing.
“Alright, so here is all the Intel we’ve been given,” Roxana produced three copies of the mission file and had her clones hand them to each member of Team Bravo, “We are tasked with the mission of retrieving a mutant named Melissa Colbourne. She is twelve years old and has the power of Thermal Invisibility. Luckily for us, her powers are only triggered by cold weather. It will be easier to track her this way.”
The brunette turned to face the two mutants of her choice for this part of the mission, “Warpath, since you’re the most familiar with the area, you’ll be handling the search for Melissa. Rogue, you’ll be accompanying him.”
Then jabbing a thumb at herself and the other member left on the team, she continued, “Mystique and I will make sure that you two won’t be detained in any way. Leave the Sentinels to us and don’t engage if you can help it. One of my clones will also join you, so if there’s any trouble on your end, we’ll be able to know and provide assistance immediately.”
“We have a couple days to complete the mission. If we finish early, maybe we can have a little fun before leaving Vegas. Just don’t tell anyone else.” At that, she gave a conspiratorial wink to the rest of Team Bravo.
“Alright then!” Roxana exhaled afterwards, hands resting on her hips, “Any questions before we head out?”

The best sort of fun happens when you look like an idiot, I think.
"It could have been someone within these very walls. The world may never know."
"Sounds like an embarrassment waiting to happen."

You're right, it could've. The Macarena was famous in the nineties, so it could even been one of us in here.
Sounds like fun.
"I don’t know. It could have been a mutant and we just don’t know it."
"Does that mean you’ll do the Harlem shake with me while we record it?"

Well, when you think about, they were the ones who came up with all these dances, yeah?
Relatively speaking, it might actually show 'em we're all the same. Like that whole Harlem dance thing was all them, right?
"Oh that is exactly what we need. Not only can people think mutants are different, but we also dance strange for the hell of it."
