you cant ever let yourself forget what it felt like to be 15. how adults treated you. being treated without a shred of respect because people think youre too young to have thoughts and feelings of your own. the lack of autonomy. you cant ever forget that because if you do you might become the kind of adult who treats kids like theyre not people

#my family still treat me like this #but fr my life was saved by moving out #because even if they somehow involve themselves where they aren’t welcome #like contacting solicitors to ask about my business with them #or keeping tabs on who I associate with and where I go #like I still get to go home to #my own place and have peace #i actually don’t know how i survived my teen years fr #being an adult is such a blessing #young people deserve so much respect and care and compassion #and patience cos they will do a lot of dumb shit but that’s part of the process
