Clive was not reluctant from having a child cook for him, he was just hoping he would be careful. He was sure one of the chefs in the hideaway was keeping an eye on him. With Clive's tough stomach, he wasn't too worried if what he made was, not so edible. He laughed to himself at the thought. Clive heard his name be called. ❝ I'm still here. Waiting! ❞ Giving the child relief that he didn't abandon him.

❝ I'm getting rather hungry so, I hope you're almost finished. ❞ Clive didn't want the child to think he wasn't excited. If he knows anything from growing up with a younger brother, it was that the smile of a young one is the most precious. To have that validation and comfort made a lasting effect. Clive didn't receive that has often as he would like, but he would continue to spread that softness to others.

Soon, he heard the footsteps of the younger one as he tip toed to the table. Clive took it with ease and placed it in front of him. ❝ Mmm. I love chocolate. ❞ It may have been a little messy looking, but a dessert is a dessert. No matter the presentation. His forked dipped into the mud pie and a satisfied hum left his lips. ❝ Wow... I'm impressed. This is rather good. I've been craving something sweet. So thank you. ❞ A smile exchanged between the two as Clive offered a soft head pat.

Today was taxing, more then others. Though it seemed the state of Clive's body was healing due to his connection to the Eikons, inside he was burning. More then he could handle. Clive wore his loose clothing today, for his body felt constricted in his usual armor. It was tiring to keep up the persona of a leader. He was a damn good one, but to not show weakness was something Clive was prone to keeping up. Today, it was different. A change of pace.

❝ You didn't need to do this for me. ❞ A smile was given in response. Clive couldn't help but but smile in return. She sat across from him when she finally finished pouring him tea, then could finally pour a cup for herself. ❝ You are too kind Your Highness. I suppose you've heard that from me way too many times though. ❞ A slight chuckle as he took a whiff of his drink, slowly blowing on it before drinking. Mmmm. This warmth is what he needed. The flames within Clive overboiled in him now, out of his control.

This was a blessing. Clive able to take a breath for himself. Treat, himself... he often forgot to do so. Clive was a man that was far too kind, putting everyone else's needs before him. ❝ This is wonderful. May I say these cups remind me of home. Where everything was porcelain, but I only saw it on rare occasions. ❞

Clive gave another faint smile as he took another sip. ❝ I suppose I'll take the opportunity to converse with you more as we enjoy this pot of tea you made. ❞

He wasn't focused on placing it or caring if they knew him, a threat surrounded him and he was ready to spill blood if need be. Asking if he was alone, with that low dipped voice of her. It was elegant but it sounded foul. A voice that wished to draw Clive in and do whatever she wished. ❛ I don't have time to play games. You don't want to start a fight with me. ❜ He gripped onto his sword. The metal already started heated up as his palms grew heavy with the flames.

The scenario she painted felt similar. One that Ultima would try to lure him in with. Clive was not without flaws, but he has more restraint then he did before. He knew not to fall too deep or he would lose himself. Which would then result to him losing his love ones.

Clive felt her presence still lingering, it was time to act. His arm lit aflame along with his sword. He presented it firmly in front of him. The terrain was slowly catching on fire, it allowed him to stay in his element as well as keep himself guarded. ❛ Leave. Now. ❜

Tough question. Just like I say in a lot of my post.. it was a lot different when Clive was younger. It's like he was a whole lot of person. Though he felt he was stuck in a prison of insecurities, he had more confidence that people thought. He thought he looked quite charming, and was proud of it.

Older Clive, has some pride in certain features. Overall though he has more confidence in himself rather then his body. He just sees a skin of scars that are a reminder of his past and present traumas. His body is a record of it all. So he rather not focus on his appearance and more on morals and everything that builds up his character.

Clive's only opinion of marriage growing up was connected to fairytales. He enjoyed reading all types of fairytales and secretly enjoyed fairytales, it was a form of escape for him. Some part of him imagined getting married, but he thought it was foolish for him to think of it. When older, after going through so much in his life, he continued to silently dream, of marriage..

He hopes to one day settle down, marry someone who truly loves him and be at peace when the war is truly over.

Valentines day has inspired me to write some love related headcanons❤️

When Clive was younger, he was more confident and felt free to express his excitement. He wasn’t a playboy or a big flirt, but his kindness allowed him to get along with people easily. Though his goal wasn’t to get a date, he enjoyed conversing with girls in hope of making connections. Cause in the end if he could make more companions that liked him for himself, it would make Clive feel less alone. Clive was more of a charmer then he realized, so many in the city did speak of his attempts with the ladies. It made his father both proud and concerned. Clive made sure to let him know he was being careful. Even if he was still a very naive, foolish boy.

Clive had one serious girlfriend growing up. He met her when he was 14, they were the same age, she worked in the chocobo farm that was in the next town over. The people thought it was rather charming, though there was not much else said for they thought Clive would be arranged to marry royalty in the future. So they saw this as the prince having fun. But Clive did generally care for her. Slowly falling in love with her. He went to his father for advice, he was happy for him. His mother of course didn't approve.

Once the war started and Rosaria was attacked, the two were separated. Memories faded during the war but eventually he came to remember when he found a town where people who survived the attack on Rosaria lived. They reunited and he was happy to see her married with two children. Clive is beyond happy for her. He will always have love her, and now they continue to be close friends. One day he hopes to return to her with a love of his own, so she could see him being happy as well ♥
