Hi šŸ¤—
Saw u mention that Bonnie is not the most mistreated character on tvd and am curious who you think is mistreated the most. Cause a lot of ppl swear it's Bonnie and I wanna know why you think diferently.
Thatā€™s such a good question šŸ¤—
Iā€™ll start by saying that I do feel that Bonnie was mistreated to some extent by the writers, especially in terms of deaths but there were so many characters who had such tragic lives that she kind of pales in comparison.
Bonnie was never abused by a partner the same way that Caroline or Elena were. She was never turned into a vampire against her will like Stefan or Vicki were. She always had a stable group of friends unlike Katherine or Rebekah. She originally had at least one parent who cared unlike Nora or Mary Louise or Katherine or Rebekah or Matt and Vicki or Stefan and Damon. But most importantly, at the end of it all, when Elena came back to life, she got her happy ending. She didnā€™t die or become imprisoned or continue in a toxic relationship. And thatā€™s why I canā€™t say that she was done the most dirty. Not when characters like Katherine, Vicki and Rebekah exist.
Basically, Iā€™m saying that although Bonnie had some hugely traumatic moments, 90% of the characters on the show did, and itā€™s more a case of having it less badly rather than better.

Unpopular OITNB opinions because Iā€™m bored and procrastinating
I had little to no interest in Taystee and found her outright annoying at times. She was okay in the earlier seasons and my idea of her was that she was good character that I didnā€™t like due to personal preference. However, in the later season, I felt that she could be irritating, irrational and depressing in an unenjoyable way and that she got far too much screen time for what I considered to be a rather dull plot.
I find it hilarious when people try to complain about people on the show being mean or bad people. Like yes, thatā€™s why 99% of them have landed themselves in prison. The funniest examples of this complaint are when people say that Lorna, someone who grew up Italian-American in New York, could sometimes say racist things or when Flaritza, two girls who probably couldnā€™t even legally drink before they went to prison and, in Maritzaā€™s case at least, didnā€™t seem to have parents who cared for them, could sometimes be bitchy and immature. These comments are even funnier when whoever says this then goes on to say that they love Frieda, Carol and Barb.
In my personal opinion, Season 2 was the best season quality-wise but Season 4 was better when it came down to drama and entertainment. Season 3 was actually one of my favourites aside from Alexā€™s whole paranoid arc and I didnā€™t really mind the panty storyline. Season 1 was obviously good, if a little slow and boring at first. Season 5 shouldnā€™t have dragged on for so long, if they were only going to cover three days, although I probably would have enjoyed it if it hadnā€™t felt so absurd and weird compared to previous seasons. Season 7 was depressing trauma porn from start to finish and Season 6 was dreadful n every single way and a terrible conclusion for the riot.
I felt like the family dynamics became way less cohesive itā€™s the show progressed and people that had once gotten on perfectly well were suddenly at each otherā€™s throats and vice versa. A good example of this was Spanish Harlem which went from a clearly outlined family where Aleida and Gloria acted as parents, Blanca was not a part of the group and the other four ( Maria, Daya, Maritza and Flaca ) pretty much did whatever Aleida said. Contrast this to Season 4/5 where Aleida leaves but Flaritza and Maria donā€™t seem to even notice, Gloria just letā€™s Maria have control over Harlem with no complaints whatsoever, Maria and Maritza seem to be at each otherā€™s throats one second and back to there seemingly rather good Season 2/3 friendship the next, Blanca is suddenly an active member of the group and Gloria only cares about Daya. This faulty dynamic is true for all of the other groups as well, and never gets the chance to recover after they are sent to Max.
I didnā€™t like how some of the seriously traumatic stuff that happened to some of these characters, especially in Season 4, was never addressed by the show again and seemed to forgotten after the episode ended by both the writers and the character themself. Youā€™re telling me that Maritza was creeped on, forced to eat a live animal, held at gunpoint and repeatedly harassed but she bounced back after throwing up like twice and hugging Flaca. In reality, she would probably take a long while to recover or feel truly comfortable in her own skin again, maybe even experiencing some PTSD, which could have been an interesting storyline to take her character down through Season 5, instead of relegating her back to comedy bits and pop culture references.
Thatā€™s all my opinions for now, although I will probably make a Part 2 for this post. Hope you agreed with at least one of my takes and that you donā€™t want to kill me for some of the things I said.

When you got into a show years after it actually came out, so all of the good fanfics are either deleted or left unfinished with like 3/28 chapters and the show is only mentioned anywhere in the context of ā€œrEmEmBeR tHiS sHoW fRoM yEaRs AgO,ā€ or in regards to the boring ass main ship that you donā€™t even like.

Flaca really got upset for like 3 minutes and then promptly forgot about it. It was the same way when they were separated, although it was at least mentioned occasionally. What was even worse was that Gloria, who was her mother figure for like two years, didnā€™t even seem to care that she was gone at all, being too wrapped up in her own stuff.* Maria, who actually seemed to have quite a good friendship with Flaritza, but Maritza especially (before she was made some sort of brutal gang leader), was never even told and neither was Daya, although she didnā€™t really like Maritza anyway.
In my opinion, this was a running theme with the Latinas, with them not really acting like an actual prison family half of the time. This was particularly highlighted at certain times, like when Maritza and Aleida supposedly had a mother and daughter relationship but never interacted, when Gloria and Aleida said barely anything about Mariaā€™s gang and didnā€™t tell her off for threatening Maritza, when Flaritza didnā€™t care that Aleida had left and when they didnā€™t say anything about Rosa being in Harlem despite being cuban. However, I think what really set the faulty dynamic apart was the fact that none of the Latinas mentioned, let alone talked to each other in season 6 or 7 unless it was about an argument or sometimes Dayaā€™s drug business. The only ones that even had scenes together, aside from that, were Daya and Aleida of course and, occasionally, Gloria and Flaca. I understand that the other groups didnā€™t interact as much, but at least they acknowledged each others existence and worried for those in different prisons or blocks. It annoyed me even more when Aleida returned in Season 7 and never inquired about Maritza or talked to Flaca and Maria.
*Honestly, unpopular opinion, I thought that Gloria was quite horrible when it came to Benny sometimes and her attitude towards others when he was having problems was just mean and awful.

This scene was so heartbreaking šŸ’” I was actually convinced that her and Flaca were going to get a happy ending when they reunited, but NO, instead Maritza gets sent to either die on the streets or get involved with dugs and get pimped out.
I swear Orange Is The New Black was allergic to happiness in Season 6 & 7.
The definition of deserved better
