hello i have a genuine question, this is not hate! why do you ship sakura and kakashi? does it not feel unsettling to you due to the circumstances, them meeting when she was 12 and he was 27; and him being her teacher at some point? again this is not hate i just wanted to ask.

No worries!

The main reason is that it's fiction—and the characters are not real people with real consequences. As an adult, I'm capable of separating fantasy from reality, and if we're not able to safely explore alternate avenues of thinking in fantasy, then what's the point of making/enjoying them in the first place?

If you're asking about it in the context of the show- then I could argue that having an age-gap relationship with someone who was once your teacher (and initiating that relationship only when they're an adult, without power dynamics being involved) at some point is way less unsettling compared to enjoying a piece of media glorifying a military state actively training child soldiers.

And less unsettling than having Sakura get with Sasuke, given the latter spent all of his on-screen time deriding/actively trying to kill the former.

If we step back, Naruto (like all fiction) has many complicated and heavy themes that could be considered quite problematic, so it's always interesting to see shipping dynamics front and center.

At the end of the day, none of it is real, and while disseminating and discussing is critical to the health of any piece of media or fandom, I don't think it's worth getting up in arms against people who are using that media to explore their own ideas in a safe, consequence-free environment.

Adrien felt nervous when hearing the name of the woman that he loved. He thought he will be the one saying Marinette on this table in the future with the outcome of palm slapping on the wooden table and incredulous cold stare, but it was a surprise to hear Marinette from Aunt Amelie.

"I have met Marinette, and what I notice about her is how sweet she is," Amelie praised, eyes gleaming and narrowed into her son. "Do you know that she once organize an event intended for the orphans? It was a huge success! I have heard praises about her from my friends. They said she will be successful on her endeavors."

Kagami furrowed, glancing to Felix whose expression became blank. She felt her appetite disappeared for some unknown reason.

"Margaret introduce her to me when I was troubled," Amelie continued, "bless that woman, but its unbelievable that she didn't introduce her niece to me!"

Adrien dawned into him. His lips pressed into thin lines.

Sakura and Kakashi's relationship has a pretty contentious start.

Tea Country had just gone through a brutal civil war, and Konoha, eager to reestablish friendly relations (and trading routes), sent Kakashi to escort the newly seated Daimyo's advisor across tea country as she relays his will.

Kakashi then proceeds to go through an entire amusement parks worth of emotional rollercoasters when he discovers that Sakura is said counsel.

So not only is his previous student alive and well, she's his client. All his pack instincts are in overdrive and conflicting with the anbu ice in his veins- the one that demands immaculate professionalism. Sakura isn't particularly happy about his appointment, but she's got bigger worries- though they clash multiple times over the course of several weeks as they travel from town to town.

Sometime after Sasori gets buried, (so about a year or so of delicious tension) that's when their romance starts- though it's very tentative and Kakashi is the first to catch mad feelings as he realizes just how much he appreciates this new, changed Sakura (turns out that wasn't just professional admiration lmao). After their first few clashes, they get along very well, and Sakura's claws sharpen his teeth better than anyone else's.

Sakura is dry and funny, pragmatic in a way that the shinobi in him appreciates, carrying herself with confidence and deft that Kakashi finds extremely attractive. All these new feelings war with the guilt of leaving her behind when she was young, for not fighting hard enough- not to mention the complete inappropriateness of crushing so hard on a former student...

That and the fact that he enjoys it when she makes him heel- our mans is having a very hard time.

A/N: I will be posting this small ficlet instead of posting this on ao3. (I'm lazy please spare me).

"Is it weird that the love of our life are dating?" Marinette asked, directing her glass of mocktail into her lips. Tasting the fruity drink, she started to regret on not ordering a true one.

Felix takes a glance at Adrien and Kagami. His heart twinge when seeing how close they are. His cousin's hand is on top of her hand and she smiled so softly under the dim light. He looks away.

"Not weird," he corrected, "it's a tragedy."

Marinette raise her glass. "Hear, hear."

Felix takes a drink of scotch.

"I have been crushing your cousin for years," Marinette mumbled, "the lengths I could do to Adrien. Well, I guess supporting them will make me help move on from him."

"No, you're not." Felix shut her down, looking at her with a knowing glint.

Marinette bitterly chuckled.

"I do want to punch Adrien," Felix admitted, swirling the glass and letting the amber liquid clashed to the round ice. "Mostly to Uncle Gabriel."

"I thought arranged marriage was bogus—I mean, we are in a progressive world," Marinette said then heavily sighed. "I'm just being hopeful and this—this is pathetic."

"It's not pathetic," Felix rebutted, but a small part of his mind knows it wasn't about the world and how business run. "It's business. This is how companies flourish."

Marinette takes another sip. She didn't have the energy to rebuked him. Maybe he knows what she implied. I should have ordered whiskey, she thinks. Then a thought came into mind causing her to chuckle.

It catches her companion beside her. He raise a brow at her.

"I just thought that," she giggled for a second. "You're a successful businessman and your field is linked more on Kagami's family business. How did Mrs. Tsurugi decide to skip on you?"

Felix paused then his lips quirked up. "Same with you, Marinette. How did Uncle Gabriel skip on you even though you're more successful than him."

"Touché."

Felix put his drink against his lips to hide an amused smile.

"You know, I remember seeing you wearing gray vest and black ties," Marinette reminisce, memories flashing at the teen Felix. Obnoxious little brat, she titled him. "You look depressing. I even thought everyone invited you to their funeral ceremony hence that outfit."

Felix rolled his eyes. "It's a style, Dupain-Cheng."

"Hey, even Adrien's dad seems to look colorful with his peppermint necktie."

He nearly choked, some of the liquid dripped at the corner of his mouth.

Marinette let out a suppressed a laugh, and taking a few ply of soft tissue on the elegrant designed tissue holder. Giving it to him, she didn't mind the glare coming from him.

She cheekily smiled.
