Personal Hazbin Hotel Headcannon
Okay so this is my short headcannon if I ever wrote a HH fic. I know animators have different styles of drawing characters and there are times where Alastor’s pupils aren’t slits and it definitely makes him look more at ease and even friendly, like he’s in a state of actual happiness. And then when they are slits it’s him hiding behind a front so others don’t know his true intentions.
Like I said, that’s my personal little silly headcannon :)

Regarding Episodes 7 & 8 of Hazbin Hotel
Let’s start off with episode 7. I really loved this episode and I think it just might be my overall favorite. The pacing of the set up towards the big battle was just right. I loved the emphasis on fighting for love to win because that becomes prominent in the finale.
Now, episode 8. This is where I have a problem with this season being only 8 episodes. We had this wonderful build of of getting an army to help fight, and also the use of angelic weapons to use to fight, but no time to actually explore it. Out of a 25 minute run time, take away 5-10 minutes of the first part with them talking about the night before, and take away the last 5 minutes of the episode for the aftermath and the secret reveal at the end. What does that leave you? 10-15 of actual battle time. That is NOT enough to fully convey this huge premise we’ve been working towards and the fights, while definitely exciting and humorous respectfully, should have been drawn out.
I would have loved to even had 9 episodes where then episode 8 could have really focused on the characters on the 24 hours before the extermination. Really get behind the whole crew. Hell, even Sir Pentious’ confession to Cherri could have been done in that episode rather than during the battle.
Then, in the theoretical episode 9, we could have focused more on the battle aspect. Adam and Alastor’s fight could have been drawn out a little more, we could have seen more of the cannibals helping or taking joy in eating angels (was Rosie even helping in that fight or was it just the townsfolk who came?), we could have seen a more tense fight with Adam and Lucifer (although I will always chuckle at Lucifer being himself). Then the characters could have had proper time to grieve the loss of their friends. I know they focused on Sir Pentious, but I mean, what about Dazzle? Or in theory Alastor at the time?
Also the ending of the episode was super rushed and I could not figure out for the life of me what time had passed???? My gripe is that they’re building this hotel, but then Alastor has his breakdown in the old radio tower, but then is literally shown in the next scene with the crew. And there’s the kicker- when they were building the new hotel they clearly made a space FOR Alastor with a new radio tower, so did they come to realize he was alive? Did Husk or Nifty know because they’d know if Alastor had truly died something would have happened with their deals being done?
The ending song is great, but the latter half doesn’t fit the narrative visually, and for me it took me by surprise.
I Hope some of this is answered in season 2, but I just wanted to share my thoughts.

The Concept of Forgiveness in the Bad
Let me start off that I don't usually make posts on Tumblr (more of a lurker), but this is an idea that I had in my head and that I thought was kind of interesting. This is quite a long post, so forgive me!
I finished watching Hazbin Hotel (a solid series; not 10/10, but I'd say a solid 8/10). The ending definitely felt way too rushed, but that's another post for another time. Let's talk about Charlie.
As we all know, Charlie is the Princess of Hell and heir to the throne. She is *literally* the kindest person in Hell. She wants to see the good in everyone and believes that everyone deserves a second chance. She is big on mercy.
*This might be a little spoilery if you haven't watched the last two episodes of HH, so read at your leisure*
When Vaggie and Lute fight, Vaggie eventually wins, but spares Lute, albeit talking to her more harshly than when Charlie tells Lucifer in their fight with Adam that he's had enough. Lucifer cockily says "How's mercy, bitch?"
In her own way, I think Charlie was still holding on to hope that Adam and Lute would come around in the future now that they had (hopefully) learned their lesson. Adam died (and a lot theorize he could go to Hell, but I'm 50/50 on that; it depends on that story arc), and Lute went back to Heaven.
So, to recap, Charlie, despite fighting with her friends by her side, was still apologetic during that fight and spared mercy to the one angel who had killed Sir Pentious and, at the time to Charlie, Alastor as well. But she showed Adam mercy.
From my own understanding and the few shows I watch, there are not a lot of characters where someone harbors this amount of kindness in them. And to me it's interesting because it really does beg the question: how far does this forgiveness and mercy go? But watching the last two episodes and reminiscing about the season as a whole, it made me think of an anime I used to watch in the early 2000s, specifically 2005. And that anime was Ginga Densetsu Weed (fully on YouTube, by the way).
Now, forgive me while I go on a bit of a tangent but make a connection here.
In the show, the main character is named Weed (given to him by a friend so he wouldn't feel alone), and his father is the protector of the lands and keeps the idea of Paradise, or that all dogs get along. That is until two certain (I think) Great Danes, who are brothers, start to terrorize and destroy any hope of Paradise for the dogs. One of the Great Danes, Hougen, kills a myriad of comrades and kidnaps Weed's father for the majority of the story. Throughout the season Weed encounters others working for Hougen who try to kill him. In one particular case this pair of Doberman brothers. Weed lets them go once after a quick scuffle, but one of Weed's confidants (Jerome) goes against Weed and kills them, saying they would have come back anyway. Filled with horror, Weed sends Jerome away. Others in the pack say Weed is too soft and that this is life and you need to fight to survive. Despite this, Jerome harbored no ill feelings towards Weed and instead worked from afar to keep Weed safe. Over time others from Hougen's pack try to attack Weed's group, but are shown mercy and actually do change.
In the final episode, it's the huge showdown between Weed and Hougen. Weed's father was found and recovered and watches. Weed almost kills Hougen, but he survives. Weed's father tells him to kill Hougen, but Weed can't when he sees Hougen struggling to even stand up. Weed's father says that he'll do it instead as justice for all that were killed. Weed however tells his dad no and shoves him aside. His group reminds Weed of all the evil Hougen has done, but Weed says that killing Hougen would make them just as bad as Hougen is. Eventually, the dude gets killed by a strike of lightning, but Weed says that kindness will definitely get to them (those with a hardened heart).
Okay, so why do I bring this up?
Both Charlie and Weed have this extreme kindness in them and want to spread that kindness to others.
Just like Charlie, who feels so bad for having simple troubled thoughts, says she's "just as bad as the worst overlord", Weed tells the group that killing Hougen, a dog who killed millions of other dogs and kidnapped his own father, would make them just as bad as him.
I feel that when Alastor inevitably betrays the group for his own agenda, things will go awry and there will of course be a huge fight in a case where Alastor is defeated, but Charlie will show him mercy and kindness and ask him to come back to the hotel because that's the kind of person she is. And truthfully, throughout the first season, Alastor did help Charlie along the way, whether genuine or not, so she does see that as a reason to show mercy (when that time comes).
Now I personally LOVE Alastor as a character. I love complex characters whose morals are grey and there's just so much to learn about them. So I hope when he does become the main villain he isn't killed, but that's just a personal gripe I would have.
That's my ramble for now. Maybe I'll make another post about my thoughts on Hazbin.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk!

The fact that Mark Cuban can do this is just further proof of how much capatalism is f*cking people over.
Billionaire investor Mark Cuban launched an online pharmacy Thursday that offers more than 100 generic drugs at an affordable price with a goal of being “radically transparent” in its price negotiations with drug companies.
For example, the leukemia drug imatinib is priced at $47 a month on MCCPDC compared to the $9,657 retail price.
The online pharmacy’s prices for generics factor in a 15% margin on top of actual manufacturer prices and a $3 pharmacist fee, the statement said.

Someone has probably brought this up, but the song Stolas sings in Season 2 episode 1 can be heard in Season 1 “Truth Seekers” when Stolas appears to save Blitz and the gang and I think it makes the rewatch all the more amazing to hear that tune.

I do counted cross stitch, so I think that this building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is amazing.  The creator’s name is Raquel Rodrigo, an artist, and designer from Valencia, Spain.
Tumblr media
It looks like graffiti from a distance, but close up, you can see that it’s actually a cross-stitch pattern affixed to this Philadelphia Naval Yard property building.
Tumblr media
Take a look at the detail here. It must’ve taken such a long time to achieve this stunning final effect. She covered it with wire mesh like a giant cross stitch canvas.
Tumblr media
What a brilliant idea.
Tumblr media
According to the artist, she wanted to bring feminine art that has dressed homes around the world to the street. However, her idea was to use a cross-stitch pattern to do so instead of graffiti.
Tumblr media
She now travels around the world, beautifying buildings and making various street art.
Tumblr media
She prepares her detailed designs in advance. Then she unrolls them at the chosen location. Her desire is to bring a dash of color and creativity to the surrounding area. I wonder how long it holds up in the weather. I can’t even see where they attached the mesh. So pretty.

Recovery is like cleaning out a house that’s been through a hurricane.  There’s mud a foot thick on the floors; some of the windows are cracked; there’s leaves stuck in cracks you didn’t know existed.
So unlike in the movies, there are no “breakthrough moments”, where you suddenly realize one thing and the whole house is clean.  Oh there may be important turning points – moments when you realize that those aren’t frosted windows, that’s dirt, and you need to clean it off, and that’s why it’s so fugging dark in here.  And that is an important breakthrough, in the sense that without it you would not succeed in cleaning the house, but then you still have to clean the windows.
Therapy is just someone who’s had experience with post-hurricane cleanup, Consulting over the phone, recommending tools and giving you advice. “Start with the floor,” they say, when you’re too overwhelmed to even begin, and they tell you what shovel to buy.  So you start shoveling, and it’s HARD, and you’re exhausted all the time, and you’ve only shoveled out the front hallway, and it feels like it’s never going to really get better.
But you do get good at shoveling, and slowly you build up your strength, and after a few months you can shovel as much as you need to, but there’s still a LOT of mud here, so it takes a year to get that shoveled out, and your house is still muddy and the windows are cracked (and frosted), and there’s still debris everywhere, and every time you walk around you’re stepping an a quarter-inch of mud, but you CAN walk around, you can get anywhere you need to go, and the house is still a fucking mess, you’re a fucking mess, a disaster not fit for human habitation, but on the other hand you can no longer convince yourself that “nothing’s ever going to work”.  It can get better.  You can point at things that used to be super-fucked-up and now are only moderately-fucked-up.  Progress is possible.
But then again, you’re not making any progress anymore. You thought you had the hang of it, but now the shovel isn’t working, and every time you shovel mud out of one place it slides into another and you’re not making any headway and you can barely pick up any mud with your shovel anyway and so maybe that was it – you had a nice run, but this is as good as it’s ever gonna get, you’re still gonna be fucked up forever, and you finally bring it up to your therapist, and they nod, and tell you to buy a hose.
So now you’re hosing down the floors, and that’s a new skill set to learn, and it splashes everywhere, and now you’ve got mud on your walls, but it does get the floor clear.  But you hosed out the front hallway, and then realized that to clear out the living room you’re gonna have to hose it out into the front hallway, which means the hallway’s just gonna get messy again, so then you have to redo the front hallway, but you start planning out which rooms to do in which order, so it goes pretty smoothly after that, until the day when you’ve got all the big mud puddles gone, but there’s still mud on the walls, and stuck in corners, and no matter how hard you spray you still end up with this thin coating of mud-dirt-dust on the floor after it dries, and honestly you’re making more of a mess than you are cleaning up a mess at this point. And you express your frustration, and the therapist tells you where to find, and how to use, a mop.
So you mop all the floors, and it’s actually looking pretty good, and you remembered to start mopping from the inside out, so that’s not a big deal, until you open a door and realize you forgot to shovel out the pantry. You didn’t think it could get into the pantry, with the door shut, but there it is, mud 3 inches thick, and the only way to get it out is to shovel it, and you’ll have to take it through the kitchen, so you have to shovel out the pantry, and then hose down the pantry, and then re-hose the kitchen, and then mop the pantry, and then re-mop the kitchen, and EUUURGHHHJHH.
But you’re really good at it, at this point, so it’s not like it’s a big deal.  It’s irritating af, and you’re sick to death of doing this, but it’s not scary, or overwhelming, or horrifying.  It’s just really, really annoying.
And the fact is, you will never be done cleaning.  Even if there’s never another hurricane, there’s dishes, and dust settling on counters, and spills, and mud tracked in after snowstorms, and laundry.  There’s not some magical moment when you’re “done”, and you can stop working forever (except possibly, depending on who’s right about the afterlife, after you die).  But you do reach a point where you it transitions from “impossible” to “meh, just a thing”
You do reach a point where you look around, and you’re kinda proud of what you’ve done You do reach a point where you recognize that your current tools aren’t doing the job you need, and you research and find and learn how to use a tool all on your own. You do reach a point where, when you see a storm coming, you know how to prepare for it, and you purchase and lay out all the supplies you need, and when the storm finishes, you can get your house back up and ready in practically no time at all. You do reach a point where storms aren’t so scary, because you know how to weather them and you know for a fact that you can recover from them. You do reach a point where friends ask you for tips on how to clean their houses You do reach a point where, every time you need a tool, it’s one you already posses. You do reach a point where you’ve replaced all the windows and sealed up all the cracks and replaced the insulation, and for the first time, you’re comfortable all the way through a winter. You do reach a point where someone compliments you on how clean and comfortable your house is. You do reach a point where you’ve done all the remediation, and you can start remodeling the house to fit your needs.
So yeah, it’s a lot of hard work that’ll never be done.  But it’s also so, so worth it.

PRODIGAL SON IS IN DANGER OF BEING CANCELED.
First step right now, since it is early, is probably as simple as going HERE
https://foxportal.secure.force.com/feedback/
And telling them personally you want more PSon and even why you do if you have time (the more you write the better, but something is better than nothing at all!) The more people who do this the better chance at them seeing and noticing. It only takes about a minute and I’ve already done it. @ing FoxTV on Twitter will not reach the people who actually make these choices, but do that, too, as long as you also do the feedback form. The goal is to get them to notice their fans want it renewed, to make us unable to be ignored. Honestly, the goal is to annoy them enough they just get pissed and say FINE ALRIGHT HERE, like, that’s how shows get saved lmao, showing we’re dedicated and won’t stand for it being canceled before its time. IF THE FORM ERRORS, it did not go through. If it works you’ll get a “We may not respond personally to everyone, but thank you…” message. Copy your message before submitting to make sure you don’t have to rewrite it for your own sake lol.
The viewership is down an entire million from 3.3 at the S1 finale to 2.3 for both eps 1&2, and it’s likely the competing it with This Is Us (and on 1/19, NCIS). FOX already has 6 new pilots for the fall season, and PSon is their LOWEST RATED SHOW. It’s already being predicted as “most likely to be canceled” by people who do/count up TV Ratings and predict these things.
FOX likely will make their official decision in May (though it’s possible earlier) so the important thing is we start doing this kind of stuff now before it’s too late. That way even if it is canceled still, the show will have a better chance at getting picked up somewhere else knowing how many people like it and fight for it and will watch it.
Please reblog this. Please let people know. If you are or know a Neilson family try to get them to watch live and not delayed (DVR) or Hulu as those count but not seemingly as much. I don’t want this show ending after a cut-short season like it isn’t even worth a proper chance to be better.
It has been done before, even on the FOX channel, but the fanbase is literally entirely on the line for saving it. And I know a lot of people really love this show and the characters, and I have a really good feeling what could happen if everyone gets together to save it.

Watch
Perception!
This is a show that when it was on air, didnt get much viewers because it came out with some other shows that were kinda similar.
But hear me out.
This show is a positive representation of having a mental illness.
Its a crime detective show. But the main character is a psychology professor with schizophrenia who acts a police consultant and he helps out a female detective on her cases.
The show shows how he uses his disability to help in cases, but it also shows the negative impact having a mental illness can have on your life. So it does show the balance.
Not only that, but he is respected, listened to and SUPPORTED!!! His T.A is a total cinnamon roll that i would personally die for!
It only has 3 seasons before it was cancelled. And its a real shame because it was so good!
The cases also tie in to little snippets of his pysch lectures he gives to his class each day, and thats how every episode starts, and it is REALLY interesting!
So please, go watch! ❤ its really hard to find on dvd too which is a shame.

I’ve been fascinated with the underground town of Coober Pedy, in Australia, b/c it’s the Opal mining capital of the world, and my birthstone is the Opal. Plus, it’s a very interesting place.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
B/c it’s so hot, 80% of the town is underground. You can buy an above-ground house, if you really want one, but all homes are relatively inexpensive.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shopping is underground.
Tumblr media
Bars, coffee shops, & restaurants are also underground.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Churches are underground, too.
