I need more awww pups headcanons in omegaverse…

-Omega puppies follow their older siblings around everywhere to the point of the older sibling getting irritated. If the age difference is large, a one year old omega puppy will follow around their seven, eight, nine, etc year older siblings. They grab their plushies and blankets and follow the siblings around. Just imagine a very tiny toddler holding all of their things following around big kids.

-Beta puppies are most likely to be the ones to suck their thumbs or bite on their nails. Pheromones don’t work as well on them, so it’s harder for parents to calm them down.

-Deaf omega puppies not understanding how loud their noises are, so they chirp so loud an entire restaurant can hear them. They’re the ones most likely to make noises in their sleep and move around.

-Sleepy puppies rubbing their eyes and wanting so desperately to finish what they’re doing, but they end up falling asleep on their piece of paper they’re coloring or during an episode of a show they like. The caregivers just come over and get them comfy on the couch, in their playpen, or in their bed.

-Omega pups getting scared of a thunderstorm and hiding. They’re so small so they can fit in a ton of places easily, so their caregivers will check the weather every day and if it looks like it’s going to storm, they tell the little pup to hold their hand. Alpha dads/adas putting their pup in their lap when it starts raining and wrapping them up in a blanket and saying they’re going to protect them from the storm!

-Alpha pups getting stung or bitten by bugs because they think they’re brave enough to fight them, but they don’t realize that they have to kill the bugs or let the bugs outside for them to not hurt them and they growl and swat at the bug like a wasp and end up getting stung and crying. Their omega parent coming in and killing the bug for hurting its baby. Alpha pups will stand in ant beds and wonder why it hurts, but they’re also so young so they don’t know about fire ants.

-Beta puppies afraid of the water, but not finding out until they go on a trip to the beach with their parents and they cry the instant their dad brings them into the water. The omega mom is trying to show them that water is okay and mommy and daddy won’t let the water hurt them, so the beta puppy holds the mom’s hand and stands in the water that goes up to their little knees and the mom sits down in the water and shows them there’s nothing to be afraid of and the pup sitting in the mom’s lap, trying to not panic.

-Pups having sleepovers at omega pups’ houses and them all sleeping in a big nest made by the omegas. And then one by one the pups get scared because their moms aren’t there and the sleepover ends early because one by one everyone gets picked up because they’re upset.

Deflation Medication???

I know that in many peoples' omegaverses there are laws in effect that during an omegas heat/alphas rut that they get that time off of work. But lets think that perhaps in another verse health care isn't as great. An alpha's mated omega is going through a heat. No time for him is allowed off work to aid his mate. He wakes up early to help sate his omega before he must leave. But oh no, his knot lasts beyond the time he has to get ready and get to work. I propose a medication that lessens the amount of time a knot can last. In a pinch, this medication could be quite convenient. I know in everyones' omegaverse the length of time a knot lasts ranges. In mine it can take 30min-2hours for one to go down. This medication depending on does can really help a knot go down quickly. 1 dose cuts it down to 15 minutes, 2 cuts it down to 10, and 3 cuts it down to five. It is not recommended to take more than 3 tablets at a time. It simply dissolves on an alpha's tounge, it has a faint citrissy taste to it. Also, this drug is available over the counter, not by perscription. If this has been done before I apologize. This is the stuff that goes through my head when I can't sleep XD. I just thought this would be something people may want to implement into their own verse and/or fanfictions. It is refered to as Diminution Tablets! Feel free to use this item yourself!

Types of nesting

× Comfort seeking

This is the first type of nesting most Omegas experience. It usually starts at around 10-12 years old, when they start being less dependent on their parent's nest for comfort.

The structure of this nest is more personal, and usually shares very similar characteristics to their guardian's nest. For example, if their parents nest had many pillows, their nest will have many pillows as well. Nesting is instinctual, but there's some behaviors that are learned for its construction.

The most common items are pillows, comforters, and scented clothes from a loved one. In some cultures, a plushie is gifted to a child for their first nest, and they will use it all throughout their lives.

Usually comfort nesting is done in pajamas, or any sort of casual comfortable clothing. Though some Omegas have designated nesting clothing which has been scented for maximum comfort.

× Pre-heat

Around this time, an Omega might feel feverish and sensitive, both physically and emotionally. Due to this most clothing can be uncomfortable and easily overheat the Omega, there's specialized robes for heats, which are incredibly soft and easy to take off for both temperature regulation and easier access.

However, it's more common for Omegas to forgo clothing altogether, as the feeling of soft fluffy blanket all throughout their bodies is quite comforting.

These are usually built in the Omega's beds, rather than a designated nesting area.

× Pregnancy

Pregnant Omegas are more likely to start getting nesting instincts at 6-8 weeks pregnant, and then again in the last trimester. The nest will usually last the entire pregnancy, though during most of the 2nd and first half of the 3rd trimester, it will be cleaned up and organized rather than used for actual nesting.

Many Omegas choose to give birth in their nests, as they feel more safe there rather than a hospital setting. Though most hospitals accept the nest getting set up there, this is why collapsible nests are a common baby shower gift.

it's structure varies a lot from other nests, as it accommodates their babies' stuff for scenting, and an area they can give birth without focusing too much on cleaning later.

× Stress

Most Omegas nest when they're nervous or stressed, and they need a place to retreat and sometimes hide. They differ from comfort nests by their structures, and because comfort nests can arise from any type of mood. Nesting recreatively is more common and not a warning sign, unlike stress nests.

These nests are usually made in corners of rooms, or places that can be walled off, and they usually get very little light. They are notable for having less non-mate scented items than a usual nest.

Nesting behaviors vary from Omega to Omega, remember that every nest is different and each have their own unique characteristics. That is the wonderful part of nesting!

I hc that pups present when their scents start to develop from a baby scent to something that starts to smell like them. Most present around 6-7 so kindies who get their scents think they’re big stuff

At this age most pups still find it hard to sleep without their parents nest, so before school parents scent a mini blanket and pillow in their backpack for naptime

Best friends making plans for how when they grow up big they’ll make a pack together, and how their pack will be the best! Their pack house will be full of candy :P

Omegaverse Magazines

Okay, so, hear me out-

You know how there are those magazines meant for teens or AFAB folks that have these little quizzes about your perfect man, what a guy doing ‘x’ means, “Is he into you??” kind of things? It’s all fluff, but, I was wondering, how would the Omegaverse influence fluff articles like this? 

Well. 

Imagine you’re on a plane, in a doctors office, or perusing the grocery store, bored out of your mind, so you pick up one of those gossipy magazines with a hot celebrity on the cover. You look at the contents page and see headlines like, “Are they the right Alpha for You? What Their Scent Says About Their Personality,” and “10 Things You Can Do To Make Your Alpha Weak in the Knees,” and “Would You and Harry Styles be Scent Compatible?” and stuff like that.

Idk. I’m just imagining pre-teen and teen omegas running into Bath & Body Works and huffing candles left and right, finding scents they like, and mad-checking these articles to see what personality their Ideal Alpha (or Beta or Omega) would have.

Just…Imagine all the trashy magazine articles the Omegaverse would have, y’all.

Kind of an odd question: if androids/robots could exist in an omega verse au, would they be programmed with dynamics or serve their own purpose outside of the dynamics

I am always pro robots with dynamics because it’s fun and I said so.

But generally I think it would depend on the purpose of the Android. If they’re built to be like humans as a way to just see if man can make something like them then yes for sure they would have dynamics.

I’ve also seen people talk about robots and androids in omegaverse that don’t have any official dynamic but are capable of initiating alpha or omega protocol where they would have their scent change and take on characteristics of that dynamic for practical uses. Like if an android was in charge of taking care of children and children usually found omegas more comforting. Or if it was a security robot that used very strong alpha scent as sort of an intimidation technique.

The programming of androids to have dynamics would also help them 1) blend in better with the general population 2) be more relatable and trustworthy to us 3) if we’re giving these androids full sentience then it’s just a good way for them to connect with us as well.

Blind pups?

-Blind pups would have a very hard time getting around. When they’re young young, the parents would really have to baby proof the house. They would need to put little pool noodles on everything even remotely sharp or dangerous.

-The dad/ada would want to carry the little puppy around everywhere because they wouldn’t want their pup getting hurt. The pup would like that until they actually want to move by themselves, so they would squirm and kick to be put down.

-The parents watch the pup like a hawk when they’re crawling or walking around. The puppy is just walking blindly with their hands out, giggling to themselves. The mom/oma would redirect the pup before they slam their head into a doorknob.

-The parents learn braille so they can teach the pup how to read. They don’t want their puppy to feel like they’re a burden whatsoever.

-The pup gets to go to a special school for the blind and they love it! There’s so many people like them here and they make so many friends!

-It’s really cute watching them all run around with their walking sticks and play.

When you said "pre-ww2" what do you mean? I'm either being forgetful or I just don't know.

Oh! Before World War 2, (ww2), or around then, pink and red were considered masculine colors, because of their association with things like blood and passion and sex. Blue was considered a feminine color, because it was cool and calm and demure.

(This is true for Medieval Europe, at least, and up into the 1800s in the west. Color symbolism is different in different cultures)

Around the 40s/50s, it switched, and we started thinking of blue as a "boy color" and pink as a "girl color"

I think it would be fun to play with gendered colors in omegaverse, where you have six variations of what I might think of as biological sex. So maybe pink is for alphas, because it's such a hot, passionate color!

Yeah! I’m pretty sure there’s blogs that focus on the SfW aspects. I know I do bc the found family gives me life

honestly i'm not sure if i'm writing omegaverse right lmao. i keep getting distracted from the actual nsfw fanfic by things like random worldbuilding and headcanons along with character interactions. is there an unspoken requirement or expectation that stories/fics in omegaverse have direct nsfw in them? or can i go like, "hey, this fic doesn't go nsfw" upfront and be okay?

I personally enjoy the sfw omegaverse fics more, especially when they're really well written and have a well thought out system. I can't speak for everyone tho, I know some people love it just for the nsfw content, but there are certainly a bunch who like it just for what it is too.

If you want to put a warning in the beginning that's up to you, but I don't think that's super important.

In light of the anon who said that an alpha cannot engage with someone without absolute consent, consider a headcanon in which an omega/beta goes into heat in public and minutes later is surrounded by alpha asking, "Are you okay? Do you need water? Are you alone? Do you have someone you can call? Are you hungry?"

Yes. I'd simply die for this. I just love the thought of this happening and it's just completely controlled and platonic the entire time. The Alpha just being such a sweetie making sure that they are okay until they feel safe.
