The Food Growing League was delayed this season just like everything else.
Because some schools started late and didn’t get a chance to record results before stay at home orders, we only have two schools: Pleasant Garden and Stokesdale Elementaries that managed to take plants home and record some or all of their results. ReBuildUp turns 6 today and we’d like to thank all the teachers, students, schools, sponsors, and everyone else whose helped make this possible.
Since March 1st 2014, we’ve been trying out new ideas here and there and we look forward to the coming year being the one we finally ramp things up and increase the number of schools taking part in a big way.

The February through May Spring Season of the Food Growing League begins with eight schools from across North Carolina vying for the tallest Cherry Tomato, Basil, and Jalapeño plants.
In May, classes have the option of holding a Mother’s Day Plant Sale selling off what they’ve grown over the Spring as a School fundraiser.
This competition features two conferences made up of four schools each.

We were very grateful to receive all the letters and decorated cards from the Stokesdale Elementary students that took part in the Spring Season of the Food Growing League.
Every letter was read and we wish the graduating 5th graders the best of luck as they move on to Middle School and we hope to see the graduating 4th graders again next year.
