And yet somehow its a very hard concept to grasp. To respect, to adhere to.. No, it's all 'fun and games' and 'I didn't do anything' 'you liked it baby' ' I didn't understand you actually meant when you said that' until the relationship is over. Dead, gone and only apathy- not even hate- is left.

And then, after, they ask why you don't date, why you're not part of the 'hook up culture' and it's not like you don't want to; but how are you supposed to trust or dare try it when the person who was supposed to love you to the moon and back ignored your cries? Ignored your 'no' independently of how you voiced it? And if that's something a loved one did, what atrocities would a stranger commit?

NO MEANS NO but so does: “i don’t feel like it” “not right now” “i’m not sure” “i’m not comfortable with this” “i don’t like that” “let’s just chill”

I saw a comment by someone on reddit who said they no longer comment on any fanfiction because of the risk of it being AI and ... that just seems like such a cop out to me, not to mention incredibly cruel to authors.

Please please please do not stop commenting on all fics or interacting with authors because you are worried about things being AI. The risk is slim, and the damage you do to authors by doing this is awful.

Writers put so much effort into their fics. For people to openly admit they still read and consume these fics, but choose not to comment on anything because of the possibility of someone using AI for their writing is incredibly selfish. You're punishing authors by doing this. You're not being moral or helpful or crusading for any useful cause - you're just hurting authors.

Ironically, by doing this, you're actually more likely to cause authors to stop writing (silence does this), and people who can't write will fill the gaps left by creating AI writing - so you're making the problem worse, not helping anyone.

If you want to support authors and writers, then SUPPORT them! Reblog work and send authors asks, leave comments and kudos, and above all don't punish people with silence.

Seeing this kinda breaks my heart, OP seems so humble too. I’d have definitely lost my cool a long time ago if I found out people were doing this to my fics that i spend blood, sweat, HEALTH and tears on!

thank you chiyo 🧡 and I appreciate you boosting the post 🥺 it’s very frustrating to be honest, and I can see why other writers can be disheartened by the situation. it’s the fact that I’ve seen this happen to a few other mutuals already too with other bloggers who have plagiarized their work! I just don’t understand 😤 I’m not even one to do call out posts but when I realized that it was word for word I wanted others to know about it just in case any of their other works are plagiarized. no original creator would do something like this.

Thoughts on best friends

The betrayal of a best friend you've had for many many years, through thick and thin, thought life, hell and happiness can arguably hurt more than the loss of a lover or partner.

The fact that romantic love ends is something often talked about; 50% of marriages end in divorce, about 70% of couples break up within the first year and after living together for two years there is a 50% percent chance that a couple will either break up or tie the knot. Yet best friends are often portrayed as being for life; "Bro's before Hoes" and a bunch of "My best friend needs me" trends seem to cement that. So when a best friend does something to shake or betray that trust the pain is arguably more profound than from someone you anyway half-expected to leave. So what do you do in the situation where you see them again? Hurt them as badly as they hurt you? Ask for explanations? Make them stay? OR do you find a way to make sure the betrayal won't ever happen again?
