How dare you hide this in the tags. This is such a fun idea to think about @kirkwords. I’d imagine Sokka would get fed up with Snotlout’s sexism pretty quickly but then again, how many times have we seen Snotlout lose his temper at the twins (yet another similarity between the two of them: short tempers).

you ever think about how personality-wise, Sokka from A:TLA is like if Snotlout from HTTYD learned more humility and respect for women faster? both were arrogant, misogynistic jerks in their earlier years. Both thought they were the best. Sokka learns respect for women and the humility to be taught to fight (something he prides himself on being the best at) by a girl. After that he has no issues and becomes one of the most respectful people in the show. There are multiple episodes in RTTE alone where Snotlout has to learn and relearn to respect women. He becomes humbler in the later seasons as one can tell from small lines here and there, but it’s not an overarching theme of any of the episodes definitely not because rtte focused a bit too much on hiccstrid. however both of these characters:

• Can be great leaders should the need arise

•love food

•want to make their fathers proud

• Are not, in fact, the main leaders of their group and they know it but the two leaders of their respective groups (e.i Katara and Aang, and Hiccup and Astrid) are dating/get married
