Post HoFaS headcannons

First things first, Ember and Randall become the honorary parents for the entire group. No one questions it. It's fact. They all know when they are in trouble as Ember has learnt everyone's middle names and will full name them when the fuck up.

Ithan starts a couple of wolf sunball teams. One that competes in competitions and really takes it seriously and one aimed a kiddos and is a lot of fun. His friends make up the hype group and go to all the matches.

Talking of Ithan...him and Perry become a thing. He asks her out on a date and the whole scene is hilarious as you have the Prime of the wolves getting flustered and awkward at asking this artist cinnamon roll out for a coffee.

Lidia comes to an arrangement with her son's and their dad's where they (the boys) visit their mum every other weekend, should the boys want to. Brann makes every visit unless something comes up, Ace make most but not all. Ruhn sometimes hangs out depending on when they are doing but also respects this is their time and often makes himself scarce. The boys invite Lidia and Ruhn to special occasions and Ruhn and Lidia will return the favor to the boys and their dad's.

Eventually the conversation around Ruhn and Lidia having kids comes up. Ruhn wants to be a Dad but is totally respectful of Lidia and what she feels comfortable with. Given what their own childhoods looked like, they decide on adoption. They end up with three kids; a female Fae, and male shifter and a witch.

Hunt takes his role as Bryce's secretary very serious, especially the office sex part. But, at her insisting, gets himself a hobby. She has started dancing again. Not on any professional level but it still feeds her dancers soul. Hunt joins an amateur sunball team, and cooks loads. He even gives some cooking lessons to kids as part of a "life skills course" Hypaxia has a lead on.

Of course they have children. Four in all, a boy and girl fae and a boy and girl Malakh. Bryce is just impressed she was able to push out not one but two winged children.

Bryce does go back to Prythian and she and Nesta become solid friends and find a way to communicate when they aren't in each other's world. Once Lunathion has its shit relatively together they invite Nesta and whoever else from the IC to come. It can't just be Bryce going to them all the time. Cass, bless him, losses his mind at all the stuff he realizes they don't have and the amount of questions he asks puts a toddler to shame. It's excessive.

Sathia helps Colin become free from the Viper Queen, divorces Tharion and marries Colin. Her father objects and her only response is to give him the middle finger as she walks away. Zero shits given.

Tharion and Adriane have some sort of understanding. They wouldn't say they were dating each other but no one sees them messing around with anyone else either. Read into that what you will.

Baxion never fully lives down the fact he freaked out over the numerous Pegasus he found. He thankfully has a sense of humor and after a lot of time sees the funny side.

He decides he enjoyed his work helping all the refugees and becomes a social worker of sorts. Helping people help themselves is what he says when people ask him what he does.

Is it normal to go up to a random stranger and start telling them off/lecturing them for no obvious reason?

So today I had my Aunt's funeral. We (my parents and me) were staying at a hotel last night, and had planned to travel back today. I'm waiting in the hotel foyer as it had become the designated meeting point for me, my parents and my brother (who was travelling that morning and meeting us at the hotel) whilst i wait for my parents to finish putting stuff in the car and waiting my brother to arrive.

I'm on my phone as well as general people watching. I notice this woman (literally never met her before in my life) looking at me. I look back. Do I know this woman? Is she a friend of my aunt's and is she trying to establish if I am also going to the funeral? She starts eyeballing me then the door, as though trying to indicate I should leave. I start thinking "you've got no right to do that. You don't work here (the hotel) and I am waiting for people"

Next thing I know she's coming over and saying something to me. It catches me somewhat off guard so I miss her telling me whatever it is I've done to apparently insult her. I am then trying to following whatever she's saying and play catch up. Work out whatever it is I've done wrong. I get lines like "you probably didn't even realize you were doing anything wrong" "it makes people feel really uncomfortable" "I'm just letting you know from my own personal experience" all I can do is say the occasional "okay?" Because I'm sure as hell not apologizing for something I didn't even do wrong?

Was it because I was staring? She was staring right back at me. Was it was because I was 'loitering' in the hotel after checking out? Well that's not for you to decide, if it was an issue then a member of staff from the hotel would have asked me to leave. Was it because I was on my phone? There was no way in hell what I was doing (scrolling through social media) could have been interpreted as trying to film/take photos or whatever of other people? As my camera was facing the ground.

So is it normal to go up to a random stranger and tell them off/lecture them for no obvious reason?

i’m going to say something that might make me seem ungrateful, but i think it’s true of many fic writers:

we want you to leave comments ON ao3.

we’re not angry or disappointed or anything like that when you leave qrts or lots of tags on our fic posts, not at all. we don’t NOT want you to message us to tell us how a fic touched you. but in addition to that, please consider just copying those words and posting them on ao3 as a comment.

why?

the reason is simple: leaving commentary in other places is ephemeral. story posts get pushed down. chats get pushed down in the list of chats, or worse, pushed up in lists of messages as the conversation continues. but comments on ao3 are easily accessible. and this is important because writers read and reread these comments regularly.

writing, especially writing longfics, is exhausting and drains your confidence over time. having a collection of people who enjoyed your past work at your fingertips is an excellent way to build yourself up when you’re feeling down. fic writers need this a lot.

i know over the past few years there’s this trend to be very descriptive with what is an “acceptable” comment. that’s all nonsense, as long as you’re not being an asshole, just say what’s on your heart.

but post it on ao3. please.

Some soft/fluffy (etc) Xaden/Violet HCs

So in one of Xadens Iron Flame bonus Chapters, Garrick says about knowing Xaden 20 years. Which is a decent amount of time. Especially when you consider they must have made friends around the age of 3. Meaning Garrick must have his fair share of embarrassing stories of Xaden. Imagine Garrick and Violet having a drink (or a few) and get tipsy and Garrick is all "did I tell you about the time...?" And Xadens like "thank the Gods one of you is my best friend and I love the other one of you or you'd both be dead" (in a really affectionate way)

Talking of Garrick, remember that comment he made to Xaden about 'helping him communicate in his relationship' or something. Okay so I have an image that Xaden legit rants to Garrick about how Violent 'wants to get to know me' and keeps 'asking questions' and Garrick is just "oh you love sick puppy don't you have it bad. You need help!'

After the war and everything they realize they haven't actually been on a proper date as such. Apparently fighting on a training mat or having intense sexual experiences don't count. Their dates aren't sickly romantic but they make at least some effort. Xaden will bring Violet a bunch of purple flowers, and take her places all over Aretia. The first place he takes her is his hilltop.

When it comes to Xaden officially taking his throne; Xaden makes it clear that unless Violet gets formally recognized and sworn in as his equal, he's not taking it. It's non negotiable to him

When they get married, the initial plan is to have a small ceremony with only those close to them invited. Rhi as Violets maid of honor, and Mira and Brennan walking Violet down the aisle, and Garrick and Bodhi as best men. Somehow one thing turns into another and they end up with this big ass wedding. As for their wedding night? Lets just say Sgaeyl and Tairn get a taste of their own medicine in the 'projecting the fact they are very much getting it on'

Eventually they have five kids overall. three of them are biological (two boys, the younger being premature and having some health issues as a result. They simply make the adjustments to let him live a full life and a girl who is a total Daddy's girl) And an adopted set of siblings, a boy and girl (Xaden was reminded of Liam and Sloane and didn't want these siblings separated) who lost there parents in the war, and had a few failed foster placements. They don't treat them any different to the other children as far as making sure they know they are loved

Xaden goes onto rule Tyrenndor and Violet is a professor and researcher. Her specialism are History and Venin (given how much she had to research and discover to cure Xaden).

Azriel, a Mate and a Step-Daughter HC

A/N: Mabel and Felicity are some OC I have. Mabel is a Forensic psychologist and Criminologist with more than enough life trauma. Felicity is her daughter, the only good thing to come out and abusive relationship. She doesn't know her biological father, having been told her is a 'bad man who hurt mummy and mummy left him when she was born.'

Felicity had always wanted a Dad like all her friends at school but had soon realized it only upset her Mum when she asked so she stopped asking

Mabel had sworn off relationships. Had promised herself not to allow a repeat of her last relationship, one that had left her with physical and emotional scars.

That was until she had to work with Azriel on a case. He needed her input and expertise and soon it became apparent it wasn't just work that had them spending time together.

Eventually Mabel admitted to Azriel about her ex, explaining that as much as she wanted whatever it was between her and the shadowsinger she was also afraid. Az promised they could take it slow and she could be in control

After a few months she introduced Azriel to Felicity as a special friend of hers. Felicity wasn't a daft kid so understood what her mother hadn't explicitly said

As promised Az let Mabel have control. The first major milestone was inviting Az round for dinner. As she is cooking As makes conversation with Felicity. He finds out she has a creative side and loves anything performing or artist. She asks about his shadows who are curious about her. The night is a success and becomes a regular thing.

Once Mabel and Azriel become more secure in their relationship and it looks like Azriel is in for a long run, he tentatively asks if he could spend time with Felicity who is becoming equally important to him.

Once a week Az gets to spend time with Felicity. Sometimes it's simple, a trip to the park, ice cream or whatever. Sometimes he'll do something a bit more special but will pass it by Mabel first. He doesn't want to overstep a boundary.

A massive hurdle is the family introductions. Mabel invites her grandparents (her parents are another story) brother and sister round for dinner with Azriel. He knows how important these people are and he's super nervous to make a good impression. They can tell he treats Mabel and her daughter right

Then Azriel introduces them to the inner circle, having begged them to behave. Az bringing a significant other round is huge so they behave. Nyx, the same age as Felicity recognizes her from school and immediately puts her at ease, drawing her into consideration with Cass, Nesta and Mor. Rhys, Feyre and Elain talk to Mabel and try not to overwhelm her. Amren just drinks wine and observes.

That night, as Azriel stays the night at Mabels they feel the bind snap. It was like it was waiting for her to feel truly safe and accepted by Azriel. That night is the final part of that feeling for her.

Felicity stays with Feyre and Rhys when. Mabel accepts the bond. Of course they had discussed it with her and her immediate response was "does this mean I can call you my Dad?". Az isn't above admitted the simple question makes him emotional. " If you want to of course". He has seen her as a daughter for a long time.

Once they have gotten the frenzy out of their system they decide to buy a new home that's fully their own and of course Felicity gets involved. They find a nice place on the outskirts of Velaris with a big garden and a tree for a tree house (Az, Cass and Rhys make her one. It takes a lot of swearing and sweating but once it's done she loves it, "thank you Daddy, and Uncle Rhys and Uncle Cass. It's the bestest tree house ever")

Rhys and Feyre arrange them a mating ceremony. A small cozy family affair. Not as small as the elopement Feyre and Rhys had nor the extravaganza Nesta and Cassian had either. What makes everyone cry is Azriels vows to Felicity to be the best Das he can be for her and to always protect her.

After the ceremony Azriel formally adopts Felicity as his own daughter making it official. It's one of the best days of his life

Nyx

First born and for a long time believed to be the only born.

Knows he doesn't want to be High lord. Doesn't want the pressure of not only the title but to live up to his parents legacy. Also it's not his calling, what his soul is telling him to do with his life, but alas if it is his duty he will do it. Not that he tells his parents this in case he disappoints them (they could never feel disappointed in any of their children)

Studies with Rhys and Amren and trains with all three Bat Boys. If he ends up high lord then he will do what he has to do be a good one.

Like Feyre he is creative but where Feyres creativity is her art, his is music. It helps him communicate things he can't with words alone. Piano, chello, violin and oboe. He joins a string quartet and knows this is really what he wants to do.

Selene

Eventually, having seen Nesta successfully pop out a couple of winged children, Feyre and Rhys try again for another child. Selene is born with a lot less drama and near death experiences than her older brother

It doesn't take long to realize she is Feysands true heir to the Night Court. Intelligent, cunning and the perfect mix of brutality and kindness. Violent criminals feel her wrath but innocent citizens feel nothing but her love

So when she's chosen by the court it takes no one by surprise. She makes history as the first high lady to sit alone on the throne. Vivian and Feyre were high ladies through their own merit and being mated to forward thinking males. Selene does it all by herself.

Total space need and having Rhys being...well Rhys and extra he commissions an observatory to be built for her. As much as she enjoys being there it also becomes a safe space for her and if she's had a bad day, you'll find her in the observatory

Poppy

Rhys had once mentioned he'd like to do what his mother had done for Cass and Az; and take in a kid or two and Feyre is supportive of this.

The bat boys are at an Illyrian camp. One even more backward than most Illyrian camps which says something. The Bat boys are there pushing for better treatment for the women.

They are coming back from a particularly long headache inducing meeting when a woman approaches with a young child. Both are in a bad way and the woman seems like she is close to death. She begs them to take her daughter, to give her a life she can't.

They bring the pair in and do what they can but the mother dies a few hours later. Her body no longer able to hold out. Rhys takes a long look at this child, and knows she's coming home with him.

Given her age, she has yet to have a period so her wings haven't yet been clipped but she hasn't had a chance to fly. Rhys takes it upon himself to teach her and she loves it. Where Rhys would have flights with just him and his mother, Poppy has flights that are just her and her Dad.

Given her love of flying she's a traveller. Not just around Prythian but to the mortal lands and to other continents. She's full of stories and gifts from when she returns home.

She becomes a Valkyrie and is a total badass. If we are making comparisons she's like a mini female Cassian. Scares her parents shitless. Selene knows her armies are in safe hands with her sister.

Arron

Arron is the next kid to be adopted by Feyre and Rhys. His mother died from sickness and his father got beaten by some guys who felt he had wronged them. It hit close to home for Feyre.

During his father's beating Arron had gotten hurt himself. Badly and he never fully recovered. On good days he is able to walk unaided. Some days he needs crutches and on really bad painful days he uses a wheelchair.

Rhys literally builds a fully accessible house so the family can live somewhere where Arron has full access even on bad days.

Like Feyre he uses art as a means to help him deal with his emotions. His particular talent is charcoal drawings and pottery. He likes that you can make a mess and end up with something beautiful.

He also really likes swimming as it's an exercise that he really helps him following his injury. The water takes some of his weight and he looks into utilizing hydrotherapy for other disabled people or those recovering from injury.

Dahlia

The last to be adopted is Dahlia. She's older when she gets adopted and it's Nyx who finds her. He's returning from music rehearsal and finds her literally half naked lying in a gutter. Covering her modesty with his coat he mentally contacts his parents and let's them know he's bringing her back.

She's 16. Has been working as a prostitute against her will. Her father abandoned her mother as soon as she found out she was pregnant and she made some desperate decisions to look after herself and her daughter. One such decision was taking a loan from a brothel madam and working the streets to pay it back. When she died and the dept was still owed, it fell to Dahlia to continue working the streets to repay the dept

Dahlia had been on a bad job. Her patron had beaten and raped her and left her in the gutter where Nyx had found her. Feyre and Rhys had been horrified that this sort of thing happened and sent Mor, Amren, Az and Nesta to 'do what they needed to to deal with it'. They did.

Dahlia, like Rhys' mother, loves clothes and she had always dreamed of having her own shop with clothes she had made. As well as modelling them. Of course her new parents support this.

She claimed the modelling helped her change the narrative with her body following what she had been through. Gave her back her ownership and confidence in her own skin, and eventually takes on other sexual assault and rape survivors when her business grows.

Yes, sometimes the tones in the question might come off as entitled or demanding. Is that fair? No. But at the end of the day most people just LOVE what they’ve gotten to see or read.

It’s never fun as a creator to feel like you can’t deliver what people might want. But it’s amazing to know that people like it enough to want more.

Create what you want, when you want, because YOU want to. May you get many likes and kudos and unhinged, screaming comments — enough to far outweigh the feedback that might get you down.

You know the TikTok trend that's like "off to annoy someone"? Imagine Violet and Liam doing the dance to Xaden who's off doing something important. He looks up like "the fuck are you two doing?" And pretends not to be impressed but if you really know him you can tell there is also an element of "good thing I love you guys and I'm glad you get to be dorks"

Then Rhiannon and Ridoc make their own one with an unexpected Dain who is clearly unimpressed (and also confused because they are having fun and this man doesn't understand the word)
