BTW I love how appreciative they are of each other. He brings Carmela a small gift and it really isn't much and he really wants to do something nice for her and he has to make himself vulnerable to do that because this is really all he has right now and men like him don't like it if they can't offer much but he loves her so he wants to give her something, can she see the pear for what it is?

And so he places the pear on the table, trying not to make a big deal because it isn't a big enough gift for that and so he doesn't say anything but not only does she acknowledge it immediately, she's delighted, not only by the gesture, no, the pear itself: "What a lovely pear!" And then he gives her that smile, he's brought his sweetheart a pear, and not just a pear, a good pear, he got a good grade in gifts even now! She appreciates him and what he does for her, too!
