Last night Ruby Taylor, Holly Mills, Jen Dionisio and Tess Redburn headed down to the ExCel centre bringing with them a bit of Puck-style arts and crafts for the biggest gathering of tech nerds you've ever seen in one building. Google Cardboard is a product from google that allows users to download apps to experience in 3D, it's like fisher price viewmaster meets virtual reality. The individual customised viewers were handed out as gifts as well as the girls being there on the night to take design requests. Big thanks to the guys at Gramafilm who organised the whole shebang.

CINEVOX with Love — CINEVOX Records is an italian label specialising in the release of motion picture soundtrack albums. This is a 45 min compilation of just some of my favourite tracks. Most of these are from 70's italian soundtracks and range from cheesy, cheeky & funky tunes, perfect to get rid of any blues in your day. So get it on loud and get ready to feel sexy. Track List — 1. La preda - Fabio Frizzi  2. Mood - Augusto Martelli  3. Black Glamour Girl - Piero Piccioni  4. Lady Fine - Pinuccio Pirazzoli 5. You Don't Care - Grimaldi Frizzi  6. Cinque Bambole Rosa - Piero Umiliani  7. Ankara - Guido E Maurizio De Angelis 8. Astaroth - Stelvio Cipriani   9. Il porto - Alessandro Alessandroni  10. Parlami d'amore Mariu - Achille Togliani  11. Cinque Bambole - Piero Umiliani 12. Bikini Island - Goblin  13. Mark il poliziotto - Stelvio Cipriani   14. Beat n. 3 - Colonna Sonora Originale  15. Puck-Tube - Eliot Wyatt
Informative:
It is always great to see how someone else creates their work, so what better video than of the master Terry Gilliam showing us how he creates his iconic animations.
Inspirational:
This video shows real time and effort that has been funnelled in to an awesome idea. The song's pretty rad too.
Funny:
More songs should be played on toy trumpets.

"I work from home in a little corner of the living room with a massive window looking out onto a bit of picturesque Peckham wasteland. I'm a bit restricted by size in my current space but I try to use what I have to the max. I usually paint with acrylic onto mountboard which has really lovely, smooth texture. I do the odd touchups and additions on photoshop which is when my wacom tablet becomes invaluable, but mostly it's a pretty analogue process".

And last but not least, Jack Taylor, another Kingston grad, working out of a studio in Elephant and Castle. Jack has an interest in printmaking and his work takes the form mostly in editorial briefs and on his own self initiated print projects.
1. What would your dream illustration job or client be?
Maybe something like doing a cover for The New Yorker, or doing a skateboard graphic. I could die happy after that.
2. If you could pick anyone in the world to be your mum or dad who would it be?
I would probably have to go with two dads and have Saul Bass and Charlie Harper. I feel they would get on pretty well too.
3. If you could possess one skill right now that you don't already have... what would it be?
I see a lot of people using programmes like Illustrator a lot and wish I knew how to use it. I would like to get into working more with wood, I get a lot of joy in being able to hold something I have just made.

Helen Friel is a 'paper engineer' and illustrator. A graduate from the CSM graphic design course, she now lives and works in London and has worked with such esteemed clients as Harrods, Ted Baker and Vogue.
1. Tell us about someone who's had a profound effect of your work?
I’ve had Alan Fletcher’s The Art of Looking Sideways on my shelf for as long as I can remember. I always go back to it when I’m stuck on a project and it’s invaluable when I'm having trouble seeing a brief from a different perspective.
2. What song best describes your life right now?
Right Said Fred by Bernard Cribbins. It’s described my life for most of the last decade. I drink a LOT of tea.
3. Cheese or Chocolate?
Cheeeese? I think.

Next up is Marylou Faure, a french illustrator currently living in London. Marylou gained her master’s degree in graphic and digital design at Penninghen, Paris. The move across the channel to explore London has been a great source of inspiration for her work. She's always been fascinated by the weird and wonderful and loves to create new characters. Marylou is especially interested in representing the female body in different ways and finds it to be an endless inspiration.
1. If you could only use one tool for making work for the rest of your life, what would it be?
It would probably be a thick coral posca pen.
2. Tell us about someone who's had a profound effect of your work?
I think London and it’s artistic vibes have had a profound affect on my work, with artist such as Hattie Stewart, Malika Favre (ok, she’s french but she works in London) and plenty others.
3. If you could teleport to one place in the world right now, where would it be?
I’d go to Mick Jagger's house and have a beer with him (before security kicks me out).

First up is Michael Driver; Michael is a Nottingham born, London based Illustrator currently in his third year at Kingston University studying Illustration and Animation. His work is a marriage of sharp lines, bold colours and analogue textures, he says he has "a great passion for print narrative image and mid century design".
1. If you could only use one tool for making work for the rest of your life, what would it be?
If i was only ever going to be able to use one tool for making work for the rest of my life i’d probably only use a brush theres a nice directness about using a brush and there is always a chance of making happy accidents.
2. What would your dream illustration job or client be?
I would really love to have the opportunity to work with The New Yorker so many people of high prestige have worked with them and it would be lovely to one day have a go at doing the cover.
3. Cheese or Chocolate?
Chocolate every time! I have the most ridiculous sweet tooth.
