oh! also kitty can somewhat “teletransport” herself thought things, but truly what she’s doing is manipulating her matter (and whoever or whatever she’s touching) so that they can “pass” through anything. she has done walls, doors, moved herself through different rooms.

i have to say, kitty barely has a lid on her powers when the war against the mutants start. she can travel back a couple of second herself, but it pains her and she screams for every second that she uses her powers on herself. but when they start hunting them down with the sentinels, kitty has to learn fast. initially, she sends people back a couple of hours, once she learns more, she sends people days, and then it turns into weeks. she knows in herself, that any more than that and you are risking too much.

honestly, kitty takes a long time to get her powers into control. it takes a lot of practice and a lot of people trying to teach her control, but once she gets control? oh boy that girl can be scaryyyyyy

i also want to explore a verse where she joins magneto instead of charles and how much more comfortable kitty is during that verse. there’s no back and forth, she just does whatever she wants with no remorse. there’s no thinking of her family, of her friends, of anything. she thinks and she acts.

i’ll make a post about this soon, but i do believe kitty struggles with knowing she’s powerful but not being evil. she constantly asks herself if what she’s doing and how she’s acting is how a bad guy would act. this is even more present during her xmen days.
