I’m kind of emotional over the fact that both April (in Rise) & Jennika (in IDW) have had moments where they didn’t feel as though they were real members of the Hamato Clan only to be told that they are part of the Hamato Clan
Karai: Now you must teach the family
April: How can I?! I’m not- I’m not one of you
Karai: Oh my child… You have always been one of us
They both have doubts about their places in the family so it’s kind of nice that they get these little moments where they’re told that they are part of the family & the Hamato Clan
You know what’s sad? I ship Rottmnt Apriltello WAY more than I ship or even support 2012 Apriltello, despite the fact that 2012 Apriltello had more “romantic” moments together and even kissed while Rottmnt Apriltello didn’t (let alone have any real intentional/canon romantic moments).
I love TMNT 2012, but honestly that just shows how poorly you wrote the love story between two of your main characters who are meant to be love interest/endgame when myself and others actually start shipping and prefering the Rise version of the ship where they were intended to be just best friends!
Rise April and Donnie where more convincing as potential love interests for one another than 2012 April and Donnie ever were!
*Slams hands on table*… I’m in a mood and I need to rant.
SO! you all have been waiting for me to continue this series on comparing weaponry and skill between the two series and now it is time for me to discuss my second biggest pet peeve in the entire franchise: Raph’s weapon of choice.
Now, my biggest pet peeve would definitely have to be how 2012 treats the Bo staff as a weaker weapon when it is a staple in martial arts for a reason. Its not weak, its actually quite difficult to learn how to use as you will CONSTANTLY be hitting yourself with it in training just like you would with nunchucku.
However, how 2012 treats the Sai is a WHOLE other misconception. And that would be: the Sai isn’t a practical weapon that should be used as a primary weapon against other martial artists, especially in TMNT.
How could this be the case, you might ask? well, let me explain…
