ok fun little question, what's a 'weird' folk tale you were told as young- a cautionary tale.

my grandmother always told me to steer clear of the woods, not because of bears or anything but because of näcken. if i heard fiddle music i were to turn and run the other fucking direction because it'd only be a warning once.

also i was told VEHEMENTLY to put porridge out at the summer cabin when we visited on winter, because the red caps would beat you half to death if you didnt (i think my grandpa just liked eating porridge after we went to bed tbh)

(saying 'weird' bcs ppl always say this shit is weird behaviour to me when lbr its just the result of a long ass country history)
