Not the same anon as your last ask (though I agree with them about your face templates being wonderful, I use them myself as non-default versions by Deedee!), but seeing that ask made me remember that I also sent you an ask a few days ago about your default face templates post, but as I included the link to the post for convenience I’m wondering if my ask perhaps got eaten..?

the hair you are asking abt is not a single hair, it's a hair, accessory buns, and an accessory flower crown, and the hair & buns were made by @skulldilocks many moons ago but not shared. neither of us have the full bun set on our computers anymore so we had to track it down on an old harddrive!

..... and then discovered that in my infinite wisdom i tried to bin the buns but just ruint them & now they crash bodyshop! still have the textures tho so will remake them and share in a bit. we've just been v. busy with a family visit.

it's been nearly 10 years and your September 2014 default face templates are 100%, without a doubt, no second thoughts my go to for default faces. THEY ARE SO GOOD! Anyway. Thank you! I hope you and Azaya are doing well, and I'm so glad you guys are still here, stalwart defenders of violently colorful TS2 games, full of silly sims with sillier names! You two are such an important part of the TS2 community and I'm so grateful for y'all :)

i don't think azaya and i will ever stop playing this game. it is how we met and so it is forever precious to us. (and also objectively the best sims game.) so long as there are computers that can run it, we'll be playing stupid lil technicolor pixel people getting up to Antics.

how to get your neighborhood deco back when you forget and load a neighborhood without your CC deco in your downloads folder

This probably happens to me more than anyone else, but I've seen a few other people lament doing it as well, so while I fixed it (again) I decided to make a quick post showing how.

You MUST have a recent backup of your neighborhood with the missing deco. So long as you have that, it's very easy!

You will need:

Again, a backup of that specific neighborhood

Mootilda's HoodReplace

Open HoodReplace and click 'browse' next to 'copy from', and navigate to where you have your backup stored.

Select the necessary neighborhood or subhood package; in this case, I'm fixing downtown.

In the other box, select your corresponding neighborhood/subhood.

Now the ticky boxes: under replace, make sure 'trees' and 'decorations' are ticked. Do not tick 'fix elevation'! If you do that in this scenario, all your hood deco will end up floating a little bit and you'll have to either click it one by one to fix that or repeat the HoodReplace but without the elevation fix. I assume fix elevation is for people actually replacing their terrain map and not fixing their deco because they're forgetful like me.

Click copy. You're done! Wow, so easy! Double check that everything is how it should be in your neighborhood, and remember, BACK UP YOUR GAME. Backups are love, backups are life. All hail the backup.

Hi, what skins do you use for your rainbowcy ? I really am trying to do one but I keep hitting some walls (non genetic, don’t have waterproof skins for custom bodies… etc) I kind of accepted to basically play with 3 genetic alien skins.

Hellooo! I tracked down every alien skin I currently use in my game, so this is going to be a pretty long post. Apologies in advance.

I don't actually use any showerproof skins, since they have to link to each shape individually, which means I'd have to have multiple copies of the same skins, and no control over who inherits which shape, and I prefer to choose bodyshapes for my sims on a case by case basis.

My kind of janky solution is using the never-nude trait from @hexagonal-bipyramid's 3t2 traits project on any sims who have non-default bodyshapes. It means they'll wear their bathing suits in the shower but eh. Small price to pay! (For very outgoing sims who like to skinny-dip anyway, I use an invisible swimsuit recolor.)

As for geneticizing, I mess with the genetics of literally every skin I put in my game, and I highly recommend others do the same! Nobody plays aliens the same way, so it's always good to check how a creator geneticizes their skins and adjust to suit your needs. It's super easy to do, just a matter of changing a couple values in SimPe. All you need to do is download the latest version of SimPe and follow this tutorial by Rikkulidea.

And that's everything! I'm not using every single recolor in the above sets, I cull them down to minimize overlap between skins that use the same actions and whatnot.

*Two of my birthday content skins overwrite the Hazardous and Combustible recolors in @pinketamine's MPL recolor set. You can't have both in your game at the same time. I just changed some of the facial features so pick whichever you prefer.

P.S. Oh, one other thing! @skulldilocks and I technically have an alien finds blog @pazookaalienfinds but it's a bit outdated. We're trying to catalogue all relevant colorful alien content for ts2 (even maxis match stuff we don't use), so we're always open for submissions. The only thing we don't post there is mostly natural skin sets that have like one green alien skin tacked on.

Whysim's Jirka Blend 3 - Alien Version!

I wanted some more alien skins, and this lovely skin by @whysim made a wonderful base!

I used color actions by @pooklet, @furbyq, and Digi. There's a pretty good mix of light/dark and bright/desaturated. The 21 swatches are pictured below. Before anyone asks, yes, I've run natural actions on this skin. However, I'm having difficulty making the darker tones look decent. I won't upload the natural set until I get that figured out.

As you can see, the normal male shape is still pretty buff looking. That's a feature from the original skin. The only thing I changed was the teeth/tongue texture, which I borrowed from @sixfootsims.

hearing the sims being called a "cozy game" is so ??? because i grew up playing the sims 1 and thats one of the most evil games ever created. and no, not intentionally evil, this is beyond will wright's hands. what i'm saying is that a foul fae spirit invaded the sims files and has permeated every sims 1 installation since. there is a malicious, foreboding presence in that game hiding behind the quirky, comic-sans labelled veneer, and if you meditate quietly for too long in its presence something tragic will happen
