True & yet Hashirama can’t resist touching Madara’s lover parts😏

Hashirama isn’t as warm as the fandom thinks

I feel like most of the people who are HashiMada fans actually started as Madara fans and made Hashirama out to be some kind of bended caricature of himself to suit Madara’s needs and wishes. But I was thinking about how warm and loving Hashirama really is. Let’s look at it from the touch perspective. 

1) When we look at the cultural references - they are Japanese as the culture. And Japanese people do not usually hug. They don’t cuddle much. They aren’t as touchy-feely as western cultures. So that’s pretty important. 

2) Let’s look at Hashirama’s background. He comes from a lineage of warriors. His father was clearly somehow abusive (although we don’t have the full picture of how it actually was). But we can say that he wasn’t hugged as a kid or cuddled. And touches are usually a learned behavior. He had nowhere to learn it from what we’ve seen. Plus, the children of abuse usually struggle even more with people touching them in any soft manner. 

3) Hashirama never touches - even in a friendly manner - anyone in manga. 

a. in the times of him being a children - we can get it. Actually, who only touches who in manga between the two is Madara. 

b. after Izuna’s death battle: it’s also only Madara touching him - although just to stop the kunai. But it seems like he holds on. 

c. the cliff scene. It would be a perfect moment to at least pat Madara’s shoulder. But Hashirama still doesn’t do it. Also notice how careful Hashirama is here with the words:  “That’s why I want to carve your face into this big stone. A symbol meaning that you’ll protect the village!” (…) “i might just modify it a little, because you look too menacing” — It doesn’t really seem like Hashirama is trying to save the face with the second part where he rather puts Madara down than to look like it was some warm compliment. He is clearly joking, but it’s not very warm. 

d. after “killing” Madara. Hashirama just falls to his knees. He doesn’t touch dying Madara, he doesn’t even do it to show dying Madara sympathy. He also doesn’t cry - I don’t think he did because we would see it, I bet Kishimoto wouldn’t cut that part out. But it’s not there because.. It most likely didn’t happen. He didn’t hold Madara’s body. This is the end: 

e. Madara dying for the 100th time. This would be a perfect way to at least hold Madara’s hand as he’s dying. Most people would do that even for a dying stranger because they wouldn’t want them to “go alone.” Yet Hashirama doesn’t even think to do it for one of his close friends. It seems like it’s just not something he does. 

f. also he doesn’t touch Tsunade when he meets her in the ninja war?? 

g. He fights mainly (not all the time) with sword. Although I don’t think that punches count really as a touch, it’s still more distant than normal taijutsu. It’s usually Madara who throws more “intimate” - if you can even call it that - punches. 

tldr: Hashirama isn’t a warm person in a matter of touch. He might be gentle and soft, but he’s not there to have his lips glued to Madara’s face. He’s not here to save Madara’s psyche by warm touches and who will be sad if Madara is physically distant.
