I understand that there have been talks about an Israeli invasion of Rafah and I understand how absolutely catastrophic that would be for what is potentially the most packed area in the world, but I just want to point out that it feels like everyone is anticipating with fear a potential assault on Rafah whereas attacks and airstrikes are already happening and in fact they never even stopped for over 6 months now.

Keep talking about Rafah and keep talking about Gaza. There are absolutely no "safe zones" in Gaza and there never have been.

Another aspect of the Gaza Genocide that I want to talk about is the complicity of Internet banking and crowdfunding websites like GoFundMe.

I have seen multiple Gazans raise enough money to leave for Egypt, but the banks and the crowdfunding websites freeze their money or cancel their funds for "suspicious activity" or whatever. Every day that passes in Gaza supplies get more scarce, conditions get more deadly, and the price to cross into Egypt gets more expensive. I've seen people, like ghost-90 here on Tumblr, raise the full amount to get their entire family out of Gaza, but their money gets frozen for so long that the original goal is only a fraction of the price now needed to cross the boarder.

These financial institutions should not be allowed to get away with contributing to the death toll in Gaza. They are intentionally keeping people trapped in a kill zone by withholding money that is rightfully theirs.

I'm so pissed and angry that every avenue for relief for Palestinians is being cut of left and right. It is vile that Gazans are being extorted for 10s of thousands of dollars by the Egyptian gov just to save their family's lives, but even when they play by this corrupt game, the world still finds a way to make them suffer.

My heart is with every Palestinian for the rest of time, from river to sea you will all be free. 🇵🇸❤️

so i finally watched their update video and i am SO GLAD they decided not to take the path of ignorance, which could’ve been went horrible. yeah you can complain all you want about “the update took too long” (yes ofc they had to carefully plan out their PR statement because so many were ready to misread and jump on them immediately) or “they’re doing it only because they care about finances more than us” (no shit sherlock, they are a real company with real finances and stakes to deal with and are not just your parasocial “besties” you’ve crafted in your head), but putting all aside it IS A DECENT APOLOGY and an clear effort seen with their new policy. that’s rare to see, both a proper apology & an immediate change, which even many big corporates fail to do properly.

there are still many questions unanswered and the damage has already been done so the trust has been broken for many. but one thing’s for sure, it is a good step that they’re making to undo the mistakes they’ve done, and hopefully will continue to undo. and i really, REALLY hope they are more careful in making important decisions in the company because that right there, could’ve cost their entire company and channel.

ok i’m saying this as somebody who — while i am a longtime viewer of theirs since unsolved — doesn’t actively go here / interact with the fandom and mostly saw this all go down on twitter but i genuinely think there’s something to be said about how most of the criticism and hatred was targeted towards steven and ryan while simultaneously assuming that the one white man involved is actually totally innnocent and had no say in it. whether or not people intentionally made racist comments, it’s still very very important to think of how your words come off and the stereotypes you may be perpetuating, ESPECIALLY if you’re white.

I honestly do think that they responded well, They were respectful, honest and were willing to listen to us to make things better. They genuinely apologised and I believe it

I’m glad they have come up with a solution that works for everyone. And they offered full refunds

I genuinely hope the best for them and I hope their business grows and develops in a way that is great for everyone.
