Someday, I want Atticus to get hit with the isekai beam a la Ingo and Anabel, but to the future instead. Imagine the future scientists trying to figure out when and where he came from - he’s dressed like a ninja from ancient Johto, but the fabric wouldn’t have been available at that time, and the stitching is done by machine. But he’s clearly European and speaks like he’s from 1600s Galar. To make matters worse, he loses his memories, so he doesn’t know either…
idk, I work in mental health but I am not one to condone disrespectful behavior under the guise of being mentally ill. I understand that there may be difficulties in controlling emotional outbursts but I don't believe it excuses downright rudeness
tumblr is so US-centric that anyone outside of the US is often subjected to doubt & questioning for not using american standards to define our lives. when it comes to our country’s class systems, the way racism functions, standards of living, whatever it is… we constantly have to prove and explain our realities to these people because they refuse to understand that the US isn’t the entire world. our realities are questioned over and over just because they don’t match america’s and it gets really exhausting really fast
Saying “this niche, properly tagged, warned, and rated piece of fiction could theoretically hurt someone” is not a good argument. This properly labeled cookie with the allergen information at the bottom that contains gluten could theoretically harm me very badly, but only if I consume it. Tags are like nutrition labels, and warnings are like allergy information. If you know you have an allergy to something, the logic is to stay away from it. It is the same with fiction. I’m not running through stores yelling at people to take all the products with gluten off the shelves just because it could hurt me. Instead I ignore it and go to the gluten free section and find cookies that are right for me. And if running through a grocery store yelling sounds ridiculous, that’s because it is. Stop doing the same with fiction.
“Everyone who terrifies you is sixty-five percent water. And everyone you love is made of stardust, and I know sometimes you cannot even breathe deeply, and the night sky is no home, and you have cried yourself to sleep enough times that you are down to your last two percent, but nothing is infinite, not even loss. You are made of the sea and the stars, and one day you are going to find yourself again.”
I have been experimenting with different styles and brands a lot, but I have to admit that Mary Magdalene still offers the best quality for their price range. A lot of their dresses look really simple on pictures, but they all have interesting details, flattering cuts (for my body type, at least) and are made of good materials. Too bad MM articles are getting harder and harder to find second-hand (and pricier because there’s no offer). I am glad I built my collections several years ago.
Dress and jacket: Mary Magdalene
Bag: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Blouse: Innocent World
Everything else is either vintage, thrifted or by artists from Design Festa that I can’t remember
i read somewhere that a psych employee said something like “the patients are not giving us a hard time. They’re having a hard time” and honestly i wish mine and everyone else’s family/friends took the time to understand what that means
Please don’t let fandom ruin something you love. Walk away and unfollow the fans and enjoy the thing by yourself, or find a limited circle of people who ignore the discourse, or get your irl friends into the thing and collectively ignore the Internet community, or blacklist from here to the moon if you need to and only ever scroll through your rarepair ship’s tag on AO3. But don’t let fandom distort a show or a movie or a book or a comic you used to love so badly that you can’t enjoy the original anymore. Please. It isn’t worth it.
