(Hey guys, so a little update on things:

I’d wanted to avoid going on hiatus because last time that happened with this story it..... lasted like 2 years.

Unfortunately my life has been hectic lately.  There are a lot of Big Changes and Stressors for me these past couple months that are making it difficult to complete a comic.

I’ve considered doing this story in written form for a bit with little comic illustrations.  If it was mostly in writing + illustrations, would you guys still be interested in reading?  I’d either publish it here or on AO3 or something.

Hey guys!  Sorry the update’s taking so long.  There may be a slight delay.  Motivation’s a little hard to find at the moment.  I’ve been distracted by netflix documentaries, a new banjo and some existential dread.  Typical millennial things.

I’m considering tweaking the style of PA a bit in the future, to make it easier to draw and a little nicer to look at.  It might mean inconsistencies in the style/time it takes to make pages.  We’ll see though!

Hey guys

so it’s been like.... a couple years or something?  Long enough a lot of you probably forgot you followed this webcomic lol

For the past few months I’ve been trying to muster up the energy to continue work more on this story.  I tried writing it in novel form for nanowrimo a couple months ago, but I only got like, several pages in before I found it difficult.

The story has progressed (in my mind at least, as well as in a notebook of mine) way more since I began drawing it a couple years ago, making a lot of what I had already posted obsolete.  The plot had changed a lot (current events have lent a bit of inspiration), enough that I decided it needed to be revamped.  So the pages I had posted are now deleted, BUT!!!  i have been working on the beginnings of a new revamped Pirate’s Anathema.

The difficulty I’ve had with it is that now there will be parts of the story I think are best told in pictures, and other parts which kinda need prose, but I think I’m gonna fix that by occasionally doing bonus stories under readmores or something.

For now, I’m wading through depression and executive dysfunction to bring you guys a story of sky pirates and gays overcoming hyper-capitalist regimes.  I really hope you all enjoy it.  Your support will help me overcome some mental hurdles I’ve had to overcome to get started again.
