Dragon battle arena
These battles act the same as regular battles, the difference being that the second wave begins immediately after the first defeated. In wave battles, the Trainer encounters fights with two sets of enemy Dragons. The Speed-Up button is available starting with Quest 3 ( The Great Plains) in Normal Mode and toggles between x1, x2 and x4 speeds. Lastly, all battles can be sped up using the x1 button. Additionally, opposing Dragons never inflict perfect hits. Regardless of the battle venue, the opposing Dragons always start with 100% health, have a 20% chance of missing, and a 60% chance they of not using defensive skills. In all battles, the Trainer always has the first strike. Dragons currently in the Dragon Vault cannot participate in battles. When going into battle, one to three Dragons can be selected to participate. Trainers should select their team carefully based on the composition of the opposing team. This information may be used to strategize and select a team with abilities that have strong attacks. The highest level of skills also provide the added benefit of long-term effects and other advantages.īefore a battle, the opposing team, along with their levels and abilities, is usually shown. Increased Elemental abilities allow the Dragon to do more damage and provide better defenses in battle, as well as the ability to affect multiple targets. These abilities should be raised to the highest level at the Dragon Academy, as quickly as possible. Having a Dragon's Elemental skills built up is vital. Selecting a team that are more than one or two levels (depending on Elemental or Sigil abilities) below the opposing Dragons can easily result in defeat. A Dragon's level and Enchantment Level should be comparable to the opponents it battles. Several factors should be considered when levelling, selecting or training a team. Once a team of Dragons is selected, the Dragons need to be properly levelled and trained. Dragons should be selected according to their level and the strength of abilities against various opposing teams. Only three are needed for regular battles, but six are needed to complete the Bottomless Dungeon. A minimum of six Dragons should be chosen and prepared for battles. It is essential to have the proper Dragon team built up when going into battle.ĭragons need to be raised to Level 4 or higher before they can participate in battle. The general mechanics of battle apply to almost all venues: Campaign Map, Bottomless Dungeon, Dragon League, Sigil Campaign, and events.

Well, that's my two cents on Meltdown speedrunning strategies. Lag is a killer in speedruns, especially on Meltdown, so beware! Always refresh before attempting a speedrun, and make sure you have everything set to it's lowest. The biggest problem I've noticed so far with this second strategy is that even though the top boss is killed quickly, there is a delay on the timer coming on, so it hasn't really made a difference on my times. These turrets will use some of their ammo on zombies that come by, but that shouldn't be too many as most zombies will be following you, leaving the rest of the ammo to dispatch the boss(es). If you have turret mastery 5, you can place three turrets, though it is rather unnecessary. These two turrets are usually flame turrets and/or Zeus turrets, as they are really easy to obtain from bounties/events, so I have a lot of them. The route is the same, other than the beginning, and it makes use of turrets.Īs you can see, I place two turrets in the top left corner where the one boss group spawns. Method 2: Alright, so this is the second strategy, which may be more suited to slower players. (I have successfully completed a 2:45 run using this strategy with a 43.2% speed medic) As long as there is no lag, this strategy should get players with speed >50% a time under 2:45. This strategy may also work for faster players, but I have not been overly successful with it yet. The last part with the boss is where the most time is lost for slower players, as they need to go from one side to the exact other side to take out the other boss, which is why I have devised the following strategy. As far as I know, I have the fastest confirmed Meltdown time, so I guess that means I have the best strategy at the moment (by confirmed, I am including fastest time posted here, on the NK speedrun thread, as well as when compared to YouTube times).Īfter completing that route, I then head down to the room beneath the control panel room and go right to the bottom right corner, where the first boss can be destroyed, then scurry up to the top left to take out the other boss and start the countdown. ¤(actually, there is a little more to say about this, but it is rather insignificant and I will not put it here.)Īnyways, on to describing the actual speedrunning process, which really isn't too hard to do. A faster build may get to the doors faster, but due to the consistent intervals between door openings, it just means more waiting will be done at said doors. The beauty of Meltdown is that even if you only have moderate speed, you can do a decent speedrun.

No Matter Studios filed for trademark protection for the name Prey for the Gods in May 2016 however ZeniMax Media, who owns the trademark to the Prey name in the video game sector, issued an objection to the Prey for the Gods mark, citing that it was too similar to their Prey. According to No Matter, the gameplay was inspired by Shadow of the Colossus, Deus Ex, DayZ, and Bloodborne. Due to this, the game's scope and scale were also significantly expanded. It ended up raising more than half a million dollars, doubling the teams' original expectations (USD$300,000). The studio crowdfunded the game through Kickstarter in July 2016. In February 2016 the studio moved to Seattle, Washington to work on the game full-time. On October 19, 2015, No Matter Studio revealed the game as Prey for the Gods, with a short trailer on YouTube. They initially worked part-time on the game. No Matter Studios, the game's developer, consists of three people, Brian Parnell, Hung-Chien Liao, and Tim Wiese. Clothing and other miscellaneous items can be upgraded once the resource cost has been fulfilled.ĭevelopment of Praey for the Gods began in 2014 in San Francisco. Weapons have certain levels, relative to how easily they can be obtained. There are treasure hunts, involving puzzles, to gain some of the more items. Resources can be found in crates, dropped by animals and enemies (excluding the "gods" themselves) or found in the environment. The crafting system is based on maintaining and upgrading equipment. Each set of three will increase the maximum stamina of the character (a total of ten enhancements), which is crucial for taking down the gods. 30 glowing totems can be found around the map, rewarded for solving environmental puzzles or searching obscure locations. There are also potions scattered around to help keep these afflictions at bay, although it is strongly advisable to hunt, gather, cook and rest during play. If caught in a freezing gale or body of water, the character will need to find shelter and make a fire before the cold affects her health. Most actions will exacerbate this, for example: sprinting will increase hunger faster, which decreases the rate of stamina replenishment. Over time, the character will become hungry, fatigued and chilled, which all negatively impact her performance.

Some hints on how to do so are provided in the form of cave drawings. Each one is unique and must be studied to understand how to defeat it. She must scavenge for resources (weapons, food, etc.) to survive the frozen landscape, dynamically generated weather and other hostilities. The player character starts her journey stranded on a frozen island, with only the clothes on her back.
