hi this is my sideblog for IT (main blog is @amberle-db)| I love the book&movie with all my heart pls I wanna talk about it | All members of the Losers Club are my children now
Bev’s dad emotionally, physically and attempted sexually abusing Bev (and her mother).
Eddie’s mom’s emotional abuse and her fabricating illness in him for control and attention.
What could be counted as abuse:
Ben’s mother overfeeding him to compensate for her anxiety about her parenting skills and making him feel guilty for wanting to eat less.
Bill’s parents emotionally neglecting him after George’s death.
What is not abuse:
Stan’s parents grounding him for breaking a window.
Richie’s parents playfully bantering with him, getting upset with his negative conduct at school, getting mad at him for constantly breaking his glasses and not believing the reason why because it seems unbelievable, attempting to scold him when he makes a joke about his friends disability because they’re not aware they just have that kind of banter.
Sidenote:
Mike’s parents are literally so nice like they teach him, love him, share his interests and passions, stick up for him and allow him free time for the work on the farm he does with them fairly regularly so he doesn’t just work all the time.
So i saw a post about how "modern day losers club wouldnt be cool and vape and be eboys theyd be actual cringey losers" so heres my take on that post
Ben is a hardcore brony who goes to cons
Richie is an anime dweeb who naruto runs through the hallways and calls eddie "senpai" all the time
Beverly is a hardcore scene kid who says shit like "no one understands me" and has a fringe
Mike is the kid who wears neon nike shirts and high socks and runs fastest in gym and slaps the tops of doors whenever he leaves a room
Bill is a furry who runs a blog with furry smut art
Stan is the quirky kid whos "not like other boys" because he read hunger games, harry potter and percy jackson. Hes that kid whos the expert on greek mythology in class bc of reading percy jackson
Eddie is a horse boy who can name different breeds of horses, gallops in the hallway and hisses at people.
I cannot wrap my head around living life without looking at birds. Just watched 3 dudes strolling along and a pigeon was frantically waddling in between them trying and failing to outrun their pace but not wanting to take off. They didn’t even acknowledge it. How could you not acknowledge that. It was incredible. People hear a crow and don’t even look for it. What the fuck.
Richie saying “Thanks for showing up, Stan” was so unexpected but extremely perfect. Because Richie calls Stan weak at the beginning, basically thinking one of his best friends is a coward who left them all to deal with a monster. Then Stanley did show up for Richie when he needed it most. When he was about to yeet out of town because everything was too scary. On a simple sign on the synagogue. And Richie took a moment to go inside and pay his respects. To remember another memory. Of being the only one of 5 others to show up at Stanley’s bar mitzvah. Richie showed up for Stanley and Stanley showed up for Richie. Cause Losers Stick Together.
