i'm in mood for an intense submerging movie so i googled movies similar to oldboy and like WHY do people suggest decision to leave. because it has the same director? i guess it's alright if you like edgy kdramas but oldboy is a pseudonoir thriller while decision to leave is a romantic tragedy. it's like suggesting someone bites into a raw bell pepper to satiate their sugar cravings

kui has very nice, very consistent, very tidy art, one of the strongest sides to dm itself is that the author is very artsy and imaginative, and it didn't translate well to anime bc for some reason it seems that there's a few different key artists working on each episode, so the art style fluctuates between scenes, and it's an unpleasant visual experience. especially considering that for some reason they go for very light outlines so the visuals lack any kind of weight

#and with the very saturated colors this comes off as a project on a budget lol #still a billion times better than gk for example but doesn't hold a candle to let's say csm. which also had light outlines #but otherwise gorgeous and tidy animation

is the dm anime worth watching? i love the manga but the anime seems kind of wobbly from what i can tell

i think it would be tedious to binge but is nice as an one episode per week deal. especially if you're like me & remember the general plot but not the fine details, it's not bad, though not particularly good either

#tbh the visuals are sort of lacking & it's too saturated for my taste & i'm not happy with a few seiyuu choices #but also it can present a new perspective for example i didn't care about chilchuck and namari in the manga but grew to like them #in the anime. the manga is better of course but the anime is nice too #a pity it has no ost to speak of tbh it doesn't feel like a big project put together by people who know what they're doing just a quota #to be filled which works i guess. again one ep per week is a perfect settlement #anon
