When Nazis continue to dress like everyone and everything I guess we're just supposed to stop dressing that way cause now it's theirs :C
I know lace code is dead and it’s sharps vs. boneheads and blah blah blah but if you make me guess whether you’re a Nazi or just wanting to dress like one, I am just going to be safe and avoid you bc why THE FUCK are y’all so hell bent on dressing like Nazis?

A mind focused has little to say.
Hello my friends! And anyone who does read this blog every now and then. I made a few posts and fucked off but it's okay. I like having this blog still in case I get some real shit to say again.
I have been happily doing my things, not obsessively chronicling things in this blog. I have not felt about a thing strongly enough to even word them properly, which is good. I am living my life and focusing on my art, which is great.
When I come back, it means I'm passionate about what you're reading and what I'm saying.

I shouldn’t ever have to say this but holy shit, does this comic not like nazis. Nazi punks, racist punks, sexist punks, y’all can fuck right off. And if you’re any of those things and you’re not a punk you can fuck right off too.
The shit going on in Charlottesville is an outgrowth of centuries of white supremacy that white people have been too hesitant and wishy-washy to denounce. It’s not surprising and *it is us* - it’s our history of redlining, it’s Jim Crow laws and the new Jim Crow of prison slavery, it’s unequal policing and racial pay gaps. It’s crossing the street because people of color make you nervous, it’s your uncle at the dinner table whining about immigrants taking all the jobs, it’s you mom talking about how all Muslims are terrorists and ignoring the violence done by her own church. FUCK NAZIS, FUCK THE KKK, but also FUCK ALL THE QUIETER FORMS OF WHITE SUPREMACY THAT WE DON’T TYPICALLY BOTHER TO DENOUNCE.
Everything is awful, everything is shit, or at least that’s the way it looks right now, but there’s shit you can do to help - contact your local BLM group, take a first aid class and start attending protests, donate to the NAACP and ACLU, and don’t let your grandpa get away with his racist speeches on Christmas.
Jesus fuckin christ.
Hey also if you’re a white person, show up to protests and protect more vulnerable people. That’s a hell of a way to utilize our white privilege, let’s go out and be human shields. Clearly that’s needed these days.

A shockingly high number of people don’t know what promoters are. They book venues and promote shows - it’s pretty much what it sounds like on the box. But the cool thing about chatting with promoters and getting to know them is that they’ll talk about what’s coming up and what they’re excited about, which is a good way to get a line on a show before anything is announced.
And if you’re looking for the local scene you’ve gotta go to bar (or record store, or coffee shop) shows. If there’s one band playing that does the kind of stuff you like they’ll know about all the cool little basements and backyards and second-story-walkup-that-says-it’s-a-sewing-machine-repair-shop-but-they-do-shows-on-weekends type places. I recently played a show at a bar I’d never heard of that’s in an area of town I don’t usually go to (a bit touristy an fancy for my style) and found a great band called Aboleth (seriously, sludgy stoner metal with just the most kick-ass harder-Janis-Joplin style vocals, go check it out) who I might have never heard of if not for Rock Karaoke night at a bar in North Hollywood.
This is also great if you’ve moved into a new town - a couple weeks ago I was talking to a guy named Chainsaw who moved to LA from Atlanta and didn’t know where the good metal shows in the area were; my band plays Metal Mania Mondays once a month so I was able to tell him about the Rainbow’s Metal Mania nights and what kinds of bands played there most frequently. Turns out it was exactly what he was looking for and I think he’s in a band with the bouncer there now.
Just. Like just go talk to people. The music is out there.

Have not made many posts lately! Haven't sat down and felt angry at something enough to write about it. Which is good, I'm thriving and chilling.

learning lately that a lot of confidence is about owning up. like "yeah i'm a little addicted to my phone right now" or "yeah i'm not really over this person yet" or "yeah i still get pretty anxious in crowds" just saying anything at all but then following it up w "but i'm trying to get better" and being super nonchalant and unaffected. so powerful. you would literally be undefeatable in the face of even the most judgmental person. no one can judge you for things you already know about yourself and are trying to improve on. the trick is to know yourself from the inside out, to hold yourself accountable, and to actively improve every day. like that is literally the secret to never feeling like you're at the mercy of somebody else's judgment

a small collection of resources to get into punk politics and philosophy
**disclaimer** not all of these sources are explicitly "punk", there's a lot shit that is punk as all hell that isn't labeled as punk, please take that into mind as I share the resources presently and in the future
Creators on youtube -
☆ Andrewism: black anarchsim, solar punk, decolonization, basic guides to complex topics and all this beautifully said in short comprehensible videos
☆ Ashton Daniels: I would recommend their patches and parely series, in this series while sewing patches onto his battle jacket or doing a different craft he talks about a variety of different issues, giving their own punk disabled view on them
Podcasts -
☆ Pick Me Up, I'm Scared: hosted by Madeline Pendleton and Kenna Jean this podcasts brings humor and lightness to heavy topics. They are incredible at linking there resources and giving a very detailed overview of a multitude of topics, cannot reccomend enough
☆ The Revolutionary's Garden: I think the description of their podcast does it justice, so here you are; The Revolutionary’s Garden Podcast is a how-to guide on gardening, sustainable farming, food security, and community organizing from a revolutionary perspective. Every other week we will go over a specific food or crop and lead you through growing, harvesting, and storing it. On off weeks we will be publishing a companion guide that details what you can plant and harvest based on your grow zone.
Sites:
☆ QZAP (The Queer Zine Archive Project): dedicated to preserving zines focusing on queer zines specifically, if that is the topics discussed or the artist of the zine. This is one of the places I go to the most to read zines, it feels like a taste of queer history I never got anywhere else, it's raw, unfiltered, brilliance.
