“Yeah well... I’m friends with Yamato but that didn’t stop us from trying to kill each other once.”
“Not that I want that to happen again, it was a mess.”
“Why would I fight you?”
“We’re friends, not enemies.”
“I would NEVER fight you, senpai.”

“Is that so? I’m glad you’re on our side then, I just might be in trouble if I ever had to fight you.”
“Heh.”
“You won’t lose me again, no one beats Motomiya Daisuke. Motomiya Daisuke who beats YOU.”

“I guess I should know better by now, huh?”
“But still - be careful. I don’t want to lose you.”
“Well, I thought I was dead.”
“But they have to do more if they want to get rid of me.”

“H-Hey I would have been totally fine even if you hadn’t helped out!” Agumon could have taken them. Probably. Taichi pouted in response and crossed his arms. “Well it’s not like I’m planning on running into Bakemon again anytime soon, but if I do I’ll- we’ll be ready.”
“I’m up for trick or treating but the last time you went after a bunch of Bakemon I had to jump in after you and save your butt. Not that I mind, of course,” a wink, followed by her sticking her tongue out at him. “But I suppose I’ll stick around just in case you need a bodyguard again.”

Taichi just shrugged, though her comment almost made him smile. Almost.
“I think Jou’s rubbing off on me with all that ‘thinking about your future’ stuff. Nishijima-sensei’s been on my case about it too. It’s hard to smile when everyone’s pressuring you to think about what you wanna do with the rest of your life.”
“Aww..come on, Taichi-san. Don’t tell me you’re down in the dumps too..” Mimi’s smile faltered, giving way to a gentle pout.
“And you have such a nice smile too! I wanted to see it.”

“Not everyone can smile all the time like you, Mimi-chan.”
“Come on. SMILE!”

“Why can’t we do both? As long as it’s a Bakemon I can handle it just fine! They’re not as tough as they look.”
“Trick or treating is definitely a much better idea than punching ghosts… Less of a chance of getting your butt kicked.”

“You...” Taichi flinched. It wasn’t the same Daisuke he knew saying that, but it still hurt. “You used to know me, before you lost your memories. And it’s not impossible, goggles are common in the human world where you came from!” Common enough, anyway.
“The day you first came to this world and met V-mon, a digimon attacked us, and you and V-mon saved my sister. I gave you those goggles and then you took over as the leader of the new group of Chosen Children...” He trailed off. If Daisuke was here, where were Miyako and the others? Taichi was almost afraid to ask.
“Miyako, Iori, and Ken...you guys saved the Digital World a long time ago. But then a while back you went missing and we couldn’t find you.”
‘We didn’t look hard enough.’
Taichi looked away, his hand forming a fist. “All of this is my fault. I’m sorry, Daisuke.”
The information about him saving the world and leading a group in the past made him confused. But it felt right.
But why was he so stubborn about being a digimon?
It was like Daisuke didn’t want to be Daisuke anymore.
Because of some unknown reason Taichi can’t see.
“You…?” - he blinked - “But I don’t know you, human! And… How… I had… other goggles? Haha, that’s impossible!”
Again, Daisuke felt it was right.
With or without memory, the younger goggle boy felt Taichi wasn’t lying.
But he refused to admit it.

“...Yeah, you did. You led a new group of Chosen and saved this world from a really evil digimon called Vamdemon.”
Maybe if Taichi kept trying, he could make Daisuke remember. He had to remember. Taichi had already lost too much, he couldn’t handle losing Daisuke too.
If it were any other situation, Taichi would have laughed at how ridiculous ‘Gogglemon’ sounded, but right now he just wanted to cry.
He couldn’t cry though, he had to be strong. For Daisuke, and everyone else.
“I gave you those goggles. You broke your old ones the first time you came to this world, so I gave you mine.”
“You saved this world…? I saved this world?” - he made a deadpan face. Yes, he has gone. The Daisuke Taichi had met has gone.
“…”
He nodded his head to confirm. Yes, he meant Gennai.
When Taichi stopped moving, Daisuke glanced at the goggles on the boy’s neck again. They were pretty… Pretty similar to his.
Do you know how you got those goggles?
He blinked.
“I woke up with them on my head” - he answered - “That’s why they call me Gogglemon, because of them.”

“And he`s also Daisuke we`re all used to it by now.”

Putting the fear of senpai in Daisuke’s heart, good.
At least you can’t say he didn’t notice you.
You scared him, Taichi.

“...”
“Good, that’s what I thought!”
He raises a hand as if getting ready to hit Daisuke, and then pats him on the back.
“I WAS JOKING!!”
“I WOULDN’T JUDGE YOU FOR KISSING CATHERINE-CHAN!”
