Conner lets his sister wrap him up. Partially because its been so long since he's had human contact so lovingly. Partially because he knows Therese understands this pain, this darkness that sits inside and threatens to eat him up. He clings to her like a child, so lost, and breathes in a scent deeper than her perfume or shampoo. It's a scent distinct to his pack, to his home.

He listens silently to her demands and while he doesn't like using her as so kind of halfway house, he knows it'll make Therese feel better in the end. The cubs always looked out for one another and would do anything for one another. Giving a roof, a few meals or some clothes was nothing.

               "O-Okay...I don't want to put you out, Therese. I just--I needed to                tell someone. I didn't know who to turn to about it all. You ever                feel like every step you make is wrong? Like each time you think                you have solid footing its pulled out from under you again? A-All                the others have their lives sorted and I'm just...I'm just this fuck up.                I always mess it up."

— —♕; She sighs, giving him a stern look that could rival her 

mother’s before shaking her head and clucking her tongue, reaching out to grab him and wrapping him up in a hug.

She stays there  for a moment before sighing and pulling away, keeping him at arms length. She still can’t believe that he’s  here. That he’s back. She had been so worried with him away  with the Army, but it turned out she had much more to worry about than that. 

           ”Fine. I won’t. But I’m going to need something in             return, okay? Not money or anything, I don’t need             that. All want is for you to visit and keep me updated             on where you are at least once every week, and to             accept dinner and clothing when I offer it to you as             well as a place to sleep when it starts getting bad out             — and also that you keep your nose clean. No more             drugs or booze, and don’t think I won’t be able to tell             because I will. “
