today i am thinking about.... how much i despise billionaires 💕 people are out here unable to afford food daily, struggling, trying to budget, missing out on opportunities, stressing about money from a young age, knowing that life is Hard and really feeling it every single day of their lives until they die, but jeff bezos is out here with over 175 billion dollars, making 321 million dollars a goddamn day and never having to worry about anything ever i hate him and i hate anyone who supports that, nobody works hard enough to make 321 million dollars in a single day especially not him, if i had the tiniest fraction of that amount id be set for life, theres no fucking excuse. disgusting. im enraged and i believe humanity is inherently good but billionares are truly a blight on our system and one of our greatest evils and they shouldn't fucking exist.

Please help me move away from my homophobic+transphobic parents

It pains me to make this post. I’ve been much too proud to admit this, but I need help or I may die.

My name’s Atticus. I was housing in UNR during fall semester, but this last semester I couldn’t afford to take out an unsubsidized loan to pay for my boarding fees (the only thing not covered by my scholarships). I chose to go to UNR in order to live openly as a trans man, but since effectively dropping my courses, I’ve been living with my strongly conservative family in Las Vegas. I’m constantly afraid of my parents finding out I’m LGBT and this fear for them has impacted my mental health very negatively. I’ve relapse in self harm and have strong idealizations of suicide because of how trapped I feel.

I am not yet out with my family but intend on coming out as transgender this June. My parents are christian conservative republicans and are openly homophobic and transphobic. Knowing my parents, I strongly doubt that they will be accepting in any way. In high school, they refused to let my continue therapy after I nearly attempted suicide. Instead, they only allowed me to talk to my pastor, whom I couldn’t disclose my struggle with depression because it was tied directly to my gender identity and sexual abuse from a fellow LGBT person. My father has already tried to coerce me to come out since moving back in. 

I had planned to return to my summer job to save up for this move, but the casino I worked in has been closed due to covid. I have 70 USD in the bank right now.

Misha and I have been looking into housing in Reno. Here is the apartment lease we’re looking at right now.  This lease is for the whole year.

I hate to be this person and y'all can ignore this if you want but what the fuck do people think veganism is?

It sure is not a "diet". It's not "restrictions" and if you "were vegan for a year" you were never vegan, you just had a plant based diet.

Veganism is an ethical stand against animal abuse. People go vegan because they learn what's behind a steak, a chicken wing, an egg, a glass of milk, they see the torture and death behind it and decided to stop supporting it.

It's scientifically proven that animal products give us non transmittable diseases and that the healthiest diet for us is a plant based diet.

It's scientifically proven that a plant based diet is better for the environment.

Both of those reasons are not why people go vegan. Veganism is 100% about the animals.

Before anyone goes there, no, we don't think people on surviveval situations should be forced to be vegan. But there are a lot of people with the privilege to do it.

No, it's not "live and let live" because the animals sure as hell don't have a choice, you see?

It's not "how life is" because I'm sure "life" is not billions of animals being constantly bred and tortured and killed for human consumption.

No, we're not fucking lions. We don't need to eat meat to survive because we're anatomically herbivores. We only eat meat because a long time ago, before supermarkets existed, we had to eat what we had and our bodies got used to it, but go ahead and try to hunt an animal with your big teeth and sharp claws and eat it raw, let's see how that goes.

Also, vegans are against testing on animals too. A plant based diet doesn't include that.

Are you an animal abuser if you consume animal products? Yes, you are. Because you willingly pay for another person to torture and kill animals for your consumption.
