First art I'm posting on here!

This is a drawing of Sebastian when he's in his Morph natural form. It's just the head and some of the neck for now, but I'm super happy with how it turned out! The teeth aren't perfect, but it's pretty good.

The writing in the top corner is the date (Sunday 5 November, 2023), my age (16), and the song I was listening to when I drew it (Ring Ding Dong by SHINee).

(Content note: Komodo Dragon skull)

I've been studying Komodo Dragons (and other Monitor Lizards) as reference reptiles for drawing Morphs, and man, these lizards are so cool, and really helpful with my art too!

I've worked on adjusting the snout length, making the nose shorter, and I'm testing out different positions for the nostrils and the auditory opening (it's always further back than I think it is), and now I'm working on teeth!

Komodo Dragons have really intresting teeth, observe:

First of all, sorry about the skull, I couldn't find any pictures of live Dragons showing off their teeth. But, their teeth go in a two big, two small pattern along the jaw, sorta like a really big serrated knife. And their teeth are very curved back, more so than I would've thought. So that's been very intresting.

I'm also working on drawing open Morph jaws, because I'm alright at drawing them when they have their mouths closed, but open jaws just kills me. So I'm working on the angles and how far open the jaws should be for different things the character might be doing (e.g. how far open should the jaw be for shouting vs how far open should they be when the person is just talking, etc).

But my Morphs are slowly but surely coming to life, and looking more and More like they do in my head, lol. I think I might have some good art to post soon!

I'm back (ish)! I am currently working on some concept art for the Morph species, but there's so many undecided things about their appearance that I'm struggling with. And on top of that, I'm trying to figure out how to draw Jett and Sebastian so that they look like brothers, but still two separate people.

I've been doing heaps of art, but none of it can be deemed blog-worthy, unfortunately. But I am working on things, scheming up schemes and planning my little plans...

Alright, that's all of them for now, I have a few very minor characters that I might introduce later, but that's all the major characters introduced.

And, the last relevant side character for now:

Name: Thanatos

Age: Practically immortal

Pronouns: He/Him

Species: Unknown (Deity)

This character is the same species as Plutus, and is also his right hand man. He took the name of the Greek God of peaceful death: Thanatos (though, ironically, he is quite violent a lot of the time). He mainly spends his time watching fights in the Arena and plotting schemes with Plutus.

Thanatos himself has quite a flirtatious and carefree personality, but he often indulges in swordfighting duels with Plutus for their own enjoyment, and he enjoys the bloodshed and violence that the Arena fights bring. Hobbies include: flirting with Plutus, practising his combat skills, and occasionally killing things.

Okay, now we have a good side character:

Name: Phanes

Age: Practically immortal

Pronouns: He/Him

Species: Unknown (Deity)

Phanes is the younger twin brother of Plutus, and he chose the name of the Greek God of Life. Phanes is in charge of feeding and looking after the combatants for the Arena. He has been abused and hurt by Plutus a lot, and becomes friends with Jett, Zoro, and Boksil when they get thrown in the Arena, deciding to try and help them escape. He also developed a huge crush on Jett, which Jett fails to notice at first, because I love that gay shit.

Like his older twin, Phanes is the same species of being that can travel through space from planet to planet at will.

Phanes himself is a shy, quiet, and rather timid person, he hates seeing how all the contestants get forced to fight and kill to survive. He hates his brother's arena, and wishes that he could stop all the violence that his brother causes. He feels more free and happy around Jett and the others, he feels heard around them. His hobbies include: watching the sunset, stressing out about his brother, and reading books in the Archives.

Alright, third villain that they meet:

Name: Plutus

Age: Practically immortal

Pronouns: He/Him

Species: Unknown (reffered to as "Deities")

This being named himself after the Greek God of prosperity, Plutus (I'm a mythology nerd) and is the third and last Villain that Zoro and friends™ meet. He runs an Arena for the entertainment of he and his friends, and he will capture beings from neighbouring planets to put in the ring. Zoro and his companions got caught and put in the Arena.

Plutus belongs to a species of aliens that have the ability to move from planet to planet, through space without a ship, freely. These beings have decided to take on human bodies so that their captive contestants can more easily comprehend them, and they fancy themselves as "Gods" naming themselves after some of Earth's mythological beings.

Plutus is a rather cruel and cold person, due to a traumatic experience he had when he was younger. He isn't very forgiving of disobedience and he has shown himself to be a formidable enemy. Hobbies include: giving orders, being a control freak, and practising his swordfighting.

Time for the second side character

Name: Undecided (I call him Shakespeare)

Age: Around 106 biologically

Pronouns: He/Him

Species: Human

The mad scientist is the first Villain that Zoro meets. His science ship (the Achilles) crashed on the planet that Jett, Boksil, and Sebastian come from over 75 years ago, and he's been doing science in the wreckage of his ship's lab since it crashed. He captured Boksil a few years before Zoro came along and has been doing cruel science experiments on her.

Shakespeare is a former scientist, he's very methodical and organised, and he spends most of his time on his science experiments. He tends to be rather... Distant from reality most of the time. Hobbies include: Muttering to himself, being menacing with syringes, and putting things in jars of brine.

Alright, now onto the first side character:

Name: Count Sebastian

Age: Undecided (mid to late twenties)

Pronouns: He/Him

Species: Morph

Sebastian is Jett's older brother, and he is inhabiting a memory of a play that he lifted from the mind of the mad scientist. He is the second villain that Zoro and Boksil meet. He and Jett grew apart after Sebastian did some cruel and traumatic things (yet to be revealed) to Jett when they were younger.

Sebastian, like Jett, is a Morph. He has used his shape-shifting to take on the form of a Vampire character from the memory he stole, and used his manifestation abilities to bring the scenes from the memory into existence. He even managed to convince Jett to take on the form of one of the other human characters in the memory, to further bring Sebastian's fantasy to life.

Sebastian has fallen into the charming role of the Count from the memory, adopting an easygoing, light, and airy personality. He can play a very hospitable host, but under his pristine exterior, there hides the cold heart of a natural predator. His hobbies include: sitting around looking smug, hassling Jett, and tormenting his prisoners.

Okay, now we have the third main character:

Name: Jett

Age: 25 (Human form)

Pronouns: He/Him

Species: I'm calling them Morphs for now

Jett is the third friend that Zoro finds on the first planet he crash lands on. Jett helps him and Boksil escape from his older brother, and they all run away together. Jett decides that since he can't go back to his brother, he might as well go with Zoro and Boksil to Earth. And so he helps Zoro fix his ship and comes back to Earth with him and Boksil.

Jett is a shape-shifter, from a species of large, predatory aliens, called "Morphs". Morphs are bipedal, tall creatures that largely resemble lizards in their natural forms, with a long neck and a prehensile tail for balance, as well as sharp claws and teeth. Morphs also have some amount of telepathy and can read minds. They can shape-shift, and also have the ability to "manifest" physical things (items, structures, ect.), out of their own energy.

Jett is a quiet, cold, closed off person, who was very defensive and hostile when Zoro and Boksil first met him. He seems like he doesn't care about them at first, but he's actually quite worried about them and wants to protect Zoro and Boksil and make sure that they all get to Earth safely. He can take a while to warm up to people, but once he does, he's a very trustworthy and valuable friend to have. His hobbies include: Brooding in dark corners, getting Zoro out of imminent danger, being a strange lil guy, and overthinking things unnecessarily.

Next is the second main character:

Name: Boksil

Age: Roughly 17 - 18 human years

Pronouns: She/Her

Species: Alien

Boksil is a small, fluffy alien that Zoro rescues from a mad scientist that captured her on the first planet Zoro visits. The mad scientist was doing science experiments on Boksil, hurting her and scaring her, and so Zoro decides to try and rescue her. Boksil takes a liking to Zoro and decides that she wants to go back to Earth with him, tagging along and trying to help him get home.

Boksil is a young alien from a species of telepaths, these aliens have strong telepathic powers and live in colonies on cliffs beside the ocean on their homeworld.

Boksil is a shy, nervous person, but can be quite friendly with people she's close to. She trusts Zoro a lot because of how he saved her, and she dreams of going to Earth with him. Her hobbies include: listening to music, taking naps in the sunlight, and stealing Zoro's stuff.

Age: 23

Pronouns: He/Him

Species: Human

Zoro is a low ranking engineer on a cruise spaceship. When the ship needs to be evacuated due to an emergency, Zoro's escape shuttle accidently gets lost, and he then needs to find a way to repair his damaged ship and get back to Earth with the help of two friends that he picks up along the way.

Zoro is a kind, friendly person, with a good heart, and a happy personality. He is good at his engineering job, and he works hard. He is nice and sweet, and his hobbies include: Tinkering on machine parts, scrolling around on his phone, watching TV, and staring at the stars.
