Having the strength to love, and be proud of that love, in a world where even those closest to you will attempt to shame you for it shows bravery. This world needs a little more bravery, and a lot less judgement. This place is a miserable trash heap, but I’m brave enough to love you both.

And as poetic and tragic as all of this is, I’m still pissed off enough to jump in. You can close yourself off all you’d like, Ronan. Hell if I’ll be the one to lecture you about feeling and closing yourself off. Just put yourself in a box, and let it all fester in there. Seal the edges so the rest of us don’t have to deal with it. When you’re ready, go ahead and open that box back up and we’ll all still be out here loving you through it.

Ro… I reject that invitation, then. I don’t think love is made by scared people. I don’t think it can be. Because even if love was born from fear, it takes courage to harness it. *If* the truth is that we only care about self-preservation, then why love? Why bear your heart out, knowing that there’s a possibility of getting hurt? 

Love can’t be from fear, Ronan, because I’m not scared when I think about love. All I think about is all the people I hold tight in my heart. I have so much yearning to protect them, it strengthens my own two fists, and I’d go to death and back for love. I’d do what I can for love.

You aren’t a coward. But even if you ever had a moment of fear, it wouldn’t devalue you in any way. You are loved, you are worthy of love and respect. On the days when you see nothing in the mirror, or in yourself to love, you are still valid for love.

It’s not foolish to shed tears. It’s not bad to cry or search for the warmth of another. It’s what being a person is… But also, screw you for what you said to my girlfriend, you absolute racist garbage. You’re my brother, but you need to change. I’m not blindly devout to you because of our bonds.

Would it be uncouth of me to ask which mistake? COCK, or continuing to uphold yourself as a prominent old-family Bloodline in a society nearly bursting with need for something new, something different?

Don’t get me wrong, Uncle Hunter, you’re one of my closest...friends? I love you dearly. But I really think you should publicly get behind my sisters future UMC Campaign. It’s very...how do you say bomb the earth, eat the rich, not Marxist but damn close? Progressive. She’s going to be great, an actual New Age who supports representation for all.

Tuesday Evening, Because I Totally Wrote This On Time:

Machie steps up on the stage, and the lights in Coughing Coffee dim around him. A microphone stands in front of him, and he moves to stand in front of it, face set in a serious frown.

“This world stands on a precipice, she says, with one hand on a trigger. It could be new. This world stands on the edge of something brilliant, if only someone was brave enough to just... Wait, back up. I have a sister. She understands the difference between rebellion and action, between what has to be done, and how it will be done. She understands the time it takes to breathe between aiming, and pulling. Because if it was so simple, everyone would have done it. But not everyone can do it. It takes someone new. It can’t be me, because something old and ancient has tied a rope around my waist and tugs every time I think leap. It has to be her, because she looks at the future and it’s bright, and endless, and she’s smart, so smart with the drive to be better, and no phantom ropes around her waist. She stands on that precipice, along with world. She stands and she thinks, this could be better. This could be just, accepting...right for the first time in ages. Maybe she’s brave enough to just...pull.”

By the time he finishes, his hands are held in front of him. He’s breathless, and a little wild. He hops off the stage to the snapping of fingers, and heads to the counter to collect his customary post-poetry Caramel Macchiato.

I’d give you tips, but it looks like this thread has been closed. An ominous beginning; you should probably avoid sandwiches, and falling into the socially constructed and pedantic norms of traditional dating.

As much fun as it is to give my sister a hard time for choosing Magic Harvard over NYADA, the one time I need her, she’s busy. I mean, what’s not to love about this place? Sure, I spent most of Samhain trying to convince one of the recruits that it was perfectly fine to leave her dorm and come to the bonfire, but it all turned out great! 

So in the hopes that one of you amazing people can help me, what would one theoretically wear while getting some lunch with…a special someone? Dressy but casual? Super casual? You know, asking for a friend.

Over nineteen grueling years, I have learned many important lessons both inside and outside of educational establishments. First of all, they only teach you what they want you to know, and you should take everything with a grain of salt.

Second, always remember these words of god according to the gospel:

I lied, that’s Sara Bareilles again, but poetry is just as important.

It’s been brought to my attention recently that I, maybe, get tunnel vision when it comes to my studies, where I might not notice other stuff going on around me, and I want to change that. 

So, I’m looking for a bit of insight from all of you. What is the most important thing you’ve ever learned outside of school?
