So I made a thing.
Are you tired of justifying, arguing, defending or explaining your identity – or your right to belong in the LGBT+ community – to gatekeepers or exclusionary radfems? Don’t waste your time or energy on people who don’t care. We don’t owe anyone an explanation or a defence.
Queer was successfully reclaimed in the 1980s and 90s and entered into use within academia as a term for anyone whose identities fall outside of societal norms (on the basis of their sexual or romantic orientation, or gender identity, with some intersex people also claiming it as well.)
We’re here. We’re queer. We belong. …End of debate.
Do you identify as queer? Then welcome to the queer community. We, your fellow self-identified queers, accept you unconditionally. You don’t have to explain yourself any further. Want some cake or some tasty garlic bread?

Black Power and Gay Pride aren’t mutually exclusive. the first pride was a riot led by trans black women.

Hey, gay working class and gay rural interests, aesthetics, and culture belong within the wider LGBT+ community. Country music belongs in gay spaces. Camo and trucker caps and work boots belong in gay spaces. Trucks and doorless jeeps and shitty old beaters belong in gay spaces. GEDs and high school educations and blue collar jobs belong in gay spaces. Being broke and looking like shit belongs in gay spaces. The community isn’t owned by the wealthiest San Fransisco and New York gay-geoisie. Their interests, appearances, and beliefs do not define queerness.

When your head hits the pillow tonight, remind yourself that you’ve done a good job. You are headed down your path at your own pace, and with every obstacle you are trying your utmost best. Be patient with yourself, and remember that big things are achieved not all at once, but one day at a time.

Just a reminder because apparently people don’t realize this, but the rainbow gay pride flag isn’t like…a gay male pride flag? it was literally meant as a pride flag for everyone in the community. not that there’s anything wrong with specific identities having their own flag, but i keep seeing ppl post flag sets as if the rainbow ride flag only represents gay men and saying that not including every single other flag known in existence means you’re excluding people when no it’s not the rainbow flag is for everyone

don’t be embarrassed by who you are - being talkative and bubbly is lovely, being quiet and shy is beautiful - you should never be ashamed
