가끔씩 몸이 너무 지쳐 갖고 하고 싶은 만큼 공부를 못 해도 괜찮아요. 그럴 수 있죠. 그냥 푹 쉬고 다음 날에 다시 하면 되지요!
it’s okay to be too tired to study as much as you want. things happen, and you can be burnt out. just take a break and try again tomorrow!

I am once again among the living!
For some reasons I keep on clenching my jaw so now I am struggling to know how it feels when it's relaxed.
So don't forget to unclench it lmao.
Anyway I'm back to studying chemistry. I'll be off to disappear for unknown times again. This time no empty promises to myself about posting again soon lol

༻`` 15 Apr 24 — Monday 11/60
(Did I miss a day? I think I might've..)
🧡 academia >> Finished my maths homework, studied Chemistry for 7 mins (very disappointed in my studying recently but I am also studying more consistently, if only for a bit, so I'm hoping that matters)
🧡 physical health >> Did 25 pushups pretty much in 1 go! Yeah!!!
🧡 self care >> I allowed myself to rest a bit and fixed my posture a few times (could've tried a lot more for both of those)
☀️ 7.15 🌙 23
I'm really enjoying talking to my friends and getting closer to them <3 I love them sm

🧡 academia >> studied for a bit (work up at 5.40 to revise) and really didn't do much at all. I did review some notes which was good but I'm not proud of not doing more, did make some notes for physics tho
🧡 physical health >> adjusted my weights and did some bicep curls
🧡 self care >> I fixed my posture a few times, I drank a few glasses of water + tea (I think it adds up to 4)

How I survived pchem
So, the time has come: you have to take physical chemistry in uni. Hell's favorite, the most terrifying of nightmares, the source of emotional damage for hundreds of science students worldwide... Or so they tell you. There's no denying pchem is no field of flowers, but I managed to pass the numerical part with a 4/5 and the theoretical part with a 5/5, so let me just say - pchem is definitely passable. Here's some of my advice.
Go to class
Seriously. I know all of studyblr always tells you to go to class, but with pchem I mean it more than ever. Don't skip lectures. Go see the way your professor links the concepts and explains the necessary math. Please. It'll save you so much hassle!
Abuse office hours
And don't hesitate to ask questions in class. Lab partner and I would stay after lectures to ask our professor extra questions or go see him in his office several times during the semester and it always paid off. They won't be mad! They're here for you! Chances are, they'll be happy a student is invested in their subject.
Be consistent
I cannot stress this enough: consistency is everything. Do not leave studying for a test/exam until the last minute. If you can cram pchem at all, that's impressive. But I don't think you can cram it well. Go over your lecture notes the same day - with a textbook, so that you can fill in the gaps in your understanding of the given topic - it does wonders for comprehension and retention.
Do practice problems
And if you get mandatory exercise sets you need to complete for class, try to do more than that. Looking at somebody's solution and thinking "yeah I see what's going on here" isn't enough. If you aren't able to solve similar exercises by yourself, from scratch, you don't actually understand the topic.
Make friends with a good textbook
Ideally, your professor should be the one to recommend textbooks and exercise books. If they don't, ask! Personally, aside from some Polish textbooks, I read Atkins religiously. The textbook is great. The exercise book is a lifesaver - the answer key has complete, step-by-step solutions *cries in joy*
Understand the material thoroughly
Don't just skim through the chapters - see how every new concept is "stacked" on top of the previous ones and how it complements them (why do we need the second law of thermodynamics? Why is the first one not enough? Why is entropy defined as heat over temperature and not work over temperature if both heat and work are a way to transfer energy?). Similarly, don't just memorize formulas!! See where they come from. Derive them yourself, identify the steps that are unclear and try to understand what happens there.
Less fear, more curiosity
All right, pchem is hard, pchem is demanding, sure. But pchem is also fun. Pchem is fascinating, pchem is beautiful! The intersection of sciences! The chemistry you're already familiar with translated into the universal language of mathematics! Nature explained at a molecular level! Look. Everybody told me pchem would traumatize me, so I decided to prove them all wrong. I tried to approach it with as much enthusiasm as I could and it worked! Yes, I absolutely had to work my butt off in this class, but I enjoyed it! Please, try to do the same.

Good Morning!!!!
Uni started up again. Honestly not really motivated but I think it'll mean I'll be more active or at least I'll study more.
It's so early tho I'm walking to Uni right now, it's lightly raining and I'm praying to all the gods that all my tech in the backpack won't die.
Welp wish me luck and to all the other students who's semester starts today: you'll be fine.qnd you'll fucking slay

Language Tips? Study Resources? Productivity?
I have been in such a slump lately (hence my extended hiatus from this blog). But now that things are starting to look up, I am slowly getting my life back together the way I'd like it to be.
Now, I come to you all for help <3
As the title says, can everyone comment or repost with language learning tips/resources/bits of knowledge, study tips/resources, anything productivity related, and any motivational or supportive things you guys would like to share? Ohh, and self care tips, time management tips, any advice you have about anything regarding getting out of a slump?
What youtubers do you watch to help? What podcasts do you listen to that help? Whatbpiece if knowledge or anything that you can share with me to help a girl out?
I seriously mean it. Anything you guys wanna leave in the comments, or my inbox, go for it! Book recommendations, TV show/movie/anime recommendations, music recommendations, makeup/skincare/self care recommendations, etc?
I appreciate all of you <3 you guys are the absolute best and I look forward to fully returning to tumblr once I feel better from my slump.
til next time lovelies 🩷

༻`` 3 Apr 24 — Wednesday
The first hour after waking up went great. Felt like I got a really good night sleep and pasta was nice. And then I went numb..... and got angry for no reason.... and did absolutely nothing but stuff my face with chocolate and doomscroll with horrendous posture.... But then I continued watching a dread one-shot on youtube and I feel so so much better now! I've written quotes on my arm again with a new addition (and a gecko doodle):

I also finished a math homework paper which I'm really proud of myself for starting on it and getting it done!!
It's never too late to restart your day!
Yesterday I met up with some friends and we went to an escape room which was super fun!!! It was amazing! I feel quite dumb and I feel like I'm continuously losing the ability to think critically and analyse things, but I did help figure things out! I wasn't completely useless lol. And we just had a great time ^^

dark academia isn’t just for the humanities: i bring you STEM academia.
observatories. stargazing. biographies of scientists. filling the board end to end with equations. hand-drawn anatomical diagrams. the hazy euphoria after finally finishing an assignment. oppenheimer & frankenstein. the uniformity of a circuit board; the chaos of a programming window. ibm’s a boy and his atom. event horizon telescope’s black hole photo. the wonder of studying anatomy and knowing that’s happening within you. sketching organic compounds that may as well be sigils. studying latin for medical terminology. doing problem sets to classical music.
