In 1989, George Bush gave a speech about crack. During the speech he pulled out a bag of crack and said “this bag was seized right across the street from the White House in Lafayette park.” Turns out, his speech writers had the idea to pull out a prop during his speech and in order to make it believable they had the DEA plant crack on this random 18 year old black kid. They lured him there. He didn’t even know where the White House or Lafayette park was. When he got there, they arrested them. The plot was discovered by a journalist.

capricorn: a rich conspectus
Tumblr media
*zodiac sign of Capricorn in a 15th century manuscript
Capricorns have the capacity to come from a genuine place. However they’re pretentious, and often use their “authenticity” against others, mainly when it comes to potential opportunities for their careers, for success, and for power and control. Usually, they need this power and control to compensate for the power and control they often feel that they lack, especially in their childhoods, and there’s a lot of latent resentment thy carry because of this (especially if they come from a financially deprived background). Capricorn is the natural 10th house. As such, it represents the high point of the chart. It shows the heights to which an individual may rise. It also represents the lows to which an individual can sink to in the name of power. So much so, that they may possibly even destroy lives. In this and many aspects, they have the greatest potential to be the most evil sign of the zodiac.
In their often arduous climb up the craggy mountain for success and power, they may do and say the most unethical things in the name of “survival” or reputation, all the while upholding themselves as not only ethical, but above reproach. They’re often reliant on kinder, gentler, more generous souls to get them where they want to be and at best, fail to reciprocate…at worst, destroy those people and dismiss/eradicate their existence. Others see the Capricorn’s flawless end result, and they are often seen as well-respected and well-liked, but few people see or even know about the many bloody carcasses and skeletons they’ve left behind in their wake nor the Machiavellian tactics and manipulation it often took to get to where they are. They often have a secret and sordid past that they zealously guard and try to keep out of public view, ruthlessly stifling anyone who’ll expose those secrets; instead they present a charming, perfect and “relatable” face to the world at large that’ll get them the esteem they so desperately crave (not unlike Virgos). Also, like Virgos, their success is often on the backs of others who may or may not know that they’re merely support to the Capricorn’s star. However, they can also a beacon of hope for others, and a light at the end of a tunnel, inspiring others as they go. Concrete angels.
As powerful as they need to be and like to think themselves as, they are interestingly concerned about what other people think; more so than any other sign (even Leos and Libras). On the surface, they have nothing to prove, yet internally they always feel that they have to prove themselves, which often results in insecurity. As such, they mold their behaviour to conform to what is accepted and highly thought of. They have one foot in the water and one foot on solid earth. The symbol for Capricorn is the sea-goat. The sea goat has the body of a goat from the waist up and the tail of fish. It’s a very mysterious and unusual creature, even for mythical standards, because the two halves don’t seem to make a whole lot of sense together. As such, they’re as practical and hard-bitten as they are mystical and sensitive. Quiet as it’s kept, Capricorns are inherently more intuitive and spiritual than is obvious. They often mix the temporal with the divine, often spitting the latter in the face. But, with the Capricorns who are more stereotypically traditional (if not conscientious), they are adherents to their faith, often for apperance’s sake. They can seem together to the outside world, but their personalities are often split down the middle, which is most evident to those closest to them. A real Jekyll and Hyde type of person, more often than not.
Capricorns are protected by a rather hard and materialistic exterior not unlike their shadow sign, Cancer, whose soft emotional underbelly is covered by a similar hard exterior. Caps are concerned with their material security and are inclined to become the “Scrooges” of the world, never accumulating enough material means to allow them to feel safe. Unlike their sister sign, Cancer, Capricorns have a difficult time expressing the softer nature beneath this exterior. They have feelings but they’re scared of them and they fear anyone that represents the feelings and emotions that they themselves can’t seem to come to terms with. As such, Capricorns project their insecurities onto these feeling-based people, and they often see those types of people as the “other” or the enemy, if they’re seen by them at all. Their fear of emotion leads them to stunt their own, which often results in bitterness, cynicism, and depression. However, they do show their affection for those they love, and it’s usually by providing the material things necessary for their happiness and well-being. Yet, when someone more adept at sympathy and understanding comes along, the Capricorn usually doesn’t understand why their long service failed to hold the affection of those they so faithfully served.
This is a cardinal earth sign, and as such, these people are active in long, hard, laborious jobs which require diligence and persistent effort, which usually pays off. Capricorns find it hard to understand why others seem to get away with things they would never dare risk, even if it is they who are the culprits getting away with nefarious things. Their hard exterior has kept them from revealing their more true nature. Their inherent insecurity dictates that they’re rarely friends with equals; rather they chase after those who they think will get them success or status, or they befriend those they consider inferior to them in some way, thus cementing their power in their little clique. They can also be sexually depraved, even deviant, if their most basest and carnal desires go unchecked. They revel in the high life and are quietly hedonistic. Like Scorpio, they despise weakness in others, yet unlike Scorpio, there’s no latent sensitivity to the hardships of others, preferring that people “pull themselves up by the bootstraps” and work hard like they did (whether they actually worked hard for their success or not).
Indeed, they may be a cardinal sign, but they are not pioneers. They are status quo. They will not display anything that they are not certain will be accepted. They are able to build a better product but they will not do so until society as a whole recognizes a better product. We see in Capricorns only what Capricorn is certain we will appreciate; there is nothing groundbreaking about them. It is the function of the Capricorn to display what society has accumulated. Capricorns represent the heads of State. However, such people are not chosen for these positions unless they speak for the majority. A dictator cannot be ignored and stay in power. This person must speak for the majority. If this person is too far ahead or too far behind they will be ignored. It is the job of Capricorn to speak for where people are. Capricorns must keep in touch with the masses, not the best or the worst, but just where we are as a whole society or group structure. They’re good at this. Capricorns are winners and achievers. But often at a cost..

Moon in Aries: The child nurtured in a way that developed strong defences that can make the adult very defensive and wrongly see the person’s offering of support, care, and concerned personal questions a threat to defend themselves against just as injustice and cruelty is
Moon in Taurus: The child is very aware of everything that is wrong and disordered but tends to be very mature and show love by means of help and support, but it can leave an adult who is incapable or negligent regarding their own self-care and measures self-value on what they can fix and contribute
Moon in Gemini: Astute intellect and intelligence does not seem to activate until early adulthood, the extreme dysregulation and confusion during adolescence was extreme and greatly effected learning, they changed into many different people so the sense they are without an identity can follow into adulthood
Moon in Cancer: The child may have been emotional in a way that attracted the sort of attention that developed into a self-consciousness or complex about demonstrating or sharing their emotions
Moon in Leo: The highly gifted and talented child who peaked too soon, developed self-consciousness very early and easily, a strong feeling of the need to impress or succeed in order to be loved that is present in the adult
Moon in Virgo: The child is very in tune and responsive to the natural routine and temperament of the parents, especially the mother, and so a tendency to spot subtle signs of distress and unrest in people develops early
Moon in Libra: The child is a magical thinker in the sense they can believe their own actions or presence was the complete cause the adult’s bad mood or illness, it can remain a subconscious tendency throughout life
Moon in Scorpio: The child’s profound intellect, insight, and observations without way of expressing or verbalising made it can be difficult to relate with children their own age and developed a sense of exclusion or exile that remains into adulthood
Moon in Sagittarius: The child with ‘so much potential’ but ‘lacking in direction, focus, motivation’ very intelligent and focused on everything but school when it was measured
Moon in Capricorn: The child who compared their abilities, intelligence, and proficiency to the adults in their lives, so comparison, self-depreciation, and feeling like they have to work harder begun here
Moon in Aquarius: The child is mismatched to the family unit in some way - possibly in temperament, appearance, qualities, and age, but the sense of being 'marked’ or 'different’ can develop into a lonely exile and dissent at humans or the uplifting knowledge of being rare and special
Moon in Pisces: Can speak an emotional and symbolic language as a child that is rarely understood and leaves the condition of feeling different or unheard, these people do not open up easily because once they start they will never stop because it’s going to pour back from the beginning
