Call me Lis, Kim, Owl or Doodles 🧡 | above 25 | non binary lesbian | they/she | [slaps 🍑] This sapphic can fit so many shitposts inside! | I have seen some shit on here since 2009 (different blogs)
I hate those posts that are like “If you support [insert marginalized community here] reblog! If you keep scrolling than you’re a POS and might as well KYS! 😘” because they’re super manipulative and basically chain letters?
This is essentially the same thing you’d see in comment sections where people are like “if you don’t copy this into ten other comment sections in under an hour then this creepy eyeless girl is going to murder you in your sleep”, except the creepy eyeless girl murdering you in your sleep is replaced with the fear of being perceived as a bad person.
Whether the intent is note-baiting or not, it still just feels… wrong. All these posts are really doing is pressuring people into spreading them. There are way more meaningful ways of showing your support for people than “spreading awareness”.
Attend a pride parade. Attend a BLM march. Donate to charities and/or GoFundMe’s. Sign petitions. Shop at LGBT/POC/ND-owned small businesses. Do something that actually makes an active difference, because spreading chain letters only helps the OP get more notes.
Also I want to add that I have no hard feelings towards the people who start these or reblog these. I’m sure that you guys have your hearts in the right place, I just feel like your time and energy should be spent on better things.
That is all. Feel free to completely ignore me if you disagree because I’m not here for a debate, I just wanted to share my thoughts.
My one friend group can't stop saying, "See you in hell!" in a cheerful voice instead of, "Talk to you later!" and my other friend group can't stop calling things "penis" instead of "cool" or "good", so I just unironically uttered the phrase, "Sounds penis, see you in hell," as I got off the phone.
i hate that even self proclaimed radicals think "people shouldnt have to work to survive" is too radical. yes yes advocate for fair wages, but dont forget those wages, even if fair, are just a prize you get for being better at capitalism than ppl like me
