Ragheiyont scrambled over rooftops and flitted between trees, more of a shadow than he had ever been. The blood hummed in him, warming him, giving him a strength he had never known. Was this how healthy dragons felt all the time? That seemed wildly unfair. Good for Tarali, but still unfair.
Rahi experiences the well-documented emotion of being properly medicated for the first time and getting mad.

I just know y’all would love Baleirithys if you gave him a chance. He’s a prince. He’s a dragon. He’s a blood drinker. He wants to be the prettiest thing in any room. He sometimes goes a little bit feral. He’s a cunning ruler. He’s a little obsessive about following the laws of his kingdom. He doesn’t know what his gender is. His best friend is a professional assassin. He collects stray dragonfolk like they’re Pokémon. His psyche is held together with duct tape and expensive jewelry. He accidentally makes an heir.

Gonna get a little bit rambly about one of my characters here. Let’s talk about Akieryon.
He’s an angel, he was raised by multiple foster families, and he trained as a Demonslayer. He’s braver than he thinks he is, and his compassion is one of his greatest strengths.
In Balances:
He escapes a centuries-long imprisonment, crashes into a human country with roughly Renaissance-level technology, and he immediate gets attached to the first person he meets. He meddles. He meets a famous demon who is of particular interest to him. He figures out who he is and where he belongs.
In The Shadow Prince:
He follows his unspouse to a Hell Sphere because the world feels wrong. He sees the person who imprisoned him. He has anxiety.
In The Sacred Tree:
He goes with the rescue party into a place made of broken bits of worlds, he makes a new friend, he fights a plant. Just a little bit, he has to face some of his trauma.
In The Sword of Heaven:
He faces a lot of his trauma. This time he’s leading the rescue effort, for the sake of someone who caused him a lot of suffering. Gotta get that closure, I guess. The world still feels wrong. What’s that about?

Well, friends, I have finished posting the third Chronicle of the Spheres book. That makes three full-length weird queer fantasy novels! Plus side stories! I will again summarize them badly:
Balances
A fugitive angel finds himself suddenly in the Mortal Realm, where he immediately gets friendship-claimed by the least human of all humans. Now he has to navigate life among humans while worrying that Heaven will drag him back to prison.
The Shadow Prince
Something’s wrong with reality, and it looks like everything is going to come to a head in the Fourth Sphere of Hell. The cat demon is convinced the regent is going to turn evil and start destroying worlds. The Demonslayer wants to stop the cat doing something stupid. The assassin is here for a good time. The thieves just want to get paid.
The Sacred Tree
Nine a*holes journey into a world that shouldn’t exist to rescue a magical smith. This is definitely a bad idea.
I will begin posting the next book, The Sword of Heaven, next week.

🏚️🎻 for the genre ask game
Thriller: is there anything about writing that makes you scared?
Uhhhhhh not connecting with an audience. Leaving things unfinished. Querying.
Classics: a scene so timeless you have kept it in your drafts in some way shape or form
Weirdly, I’m not 100% sure how to interpret this one. If it means preserving/repeating a specific scene then no, I can’t think of anything. If we’re speaking in a broader, more thematic sense, then my characters keep healing a finding where they belong.
Thank you so much for the ask! 💖

Non-fiction 📔: something in your wip/s that are a part of real life events? (Doesn't have to be historical events, maybe something that happened in your life that you've added to your story)
Self-help 💭: writing advice that has greatly helped your writing
Children's lit 🧒: would you ever see your book being taught at a school or university lit class? If so, what would the topic be on?

Akieryon’s personality is best described by Beartooth’s latest single Sunshine. No I cannot elaborate at this time.

No-context dialogue I just wrote:
“You’re sure this will work?”
“About eighty percent.”
“Oh, good.”
“You used to love eighty percent.”
“That’s because it was up from fifty.”

Meet the blorbos: Tempest
Series: Chronicle of the Spheres
First appearance: Balances
Tempest is at once suuuuuper OP and also the living embodiment of a DMV sigh. He is the minimum wage employee’s eternal ennui. He has seen too much and been unimpressed by most of it. He has outsourced his moral compass to his best friend Caspar, and maybe one or two others on occasion. It’s probably safer that way. He has learned too many styles of magic, but he prefers to kill with his hands. If you think his name sounds like something an edgy middle schooler in need of an alias would choose, that’s almost what happened.
idk I just think he’s neat.

As it is my birthday, I am once again inviting everyone to take a look at some of my extremely queer original fiction:
Chronicle of the Spheres
Series. Fantasy, starts with a novel-length story about a fugitive angel finding a place to call home. Goes on to include short- and long-form fiction. The latest ongoing story is basically a terrible dnd fetch quest. Nobody is straight unless I explicitly say so.
The King’s Rabble
Poly romance with a nonbinary narrator. The king needs a Second Spouse. Daff didn’t mean to get caught up in the selection process, but at least the queen is hot.

Meet the blorbos*: Ragheiyont
Series: Chronicle of the Spheres
First appearance: The Shadow Prince
Meet Ragheiyont! When he first appears in the series, it’s just him, his cursed dagger, and his chronic illness against the world. A young adult of dragonkind, he is a proficient thief. He annoys people on purpose as a defense mechanism. His coping strategies are not necessarily healthy, but at least he’s clever.
Feel free to ask me anything about him!
*I’ve decided to babble about my characters because 2023 continues to suck
