Ugh I hate to repost this but uh nothing has changed so any help, even passing it on, is extremely appreciated!

My family and I are currently experiencing some financial instability. My wife runs a face painting business and we're working on getting an online sticker shop and a Fiverr for various things up. Her face painting business is popular but we're falling behind. I do the homeschool and child care stuff for the most part.

We and our 3 kids are all (likely) auDHD and us adults are feeling pretty good burnout. It's making it hard to get our feet under us. Any gigs she's getting profit from disappear under negative balances in our account. We're behind a couple months now on several important bills. Our EBT card balance is out for the month. So all around, in a little bit of a hole. Whether it's enough to pay a bill or pay off debt, or just enough to snag a snack or pull-ups, anything is appreciated.

Because I'm only seeing other Jews posting about this, non-Jews I need you to be aware that for the past month or two there has been a wave of bomb threats and swattings at synagogues all across the US. They usually do it when services are being livestreamed. I haven't seen a single non-Jew talking about this. High holidays are coming up in a few weeks, which is when most attacks happen against our communities. We're worried, and we need people to know what's happening to us.

Rathalaugust 2023 day 3: Tzitzi-Ya-Ku

The first monster I felt bad for beating up, which eventually lead me to be the capture-preferring hunter I am today. His limp is so dramatic and his little whines are so sad :'( I always run full anti-stun anyway, so his flash is only helpful to me. Just a harmless little guy.

This goofy fella. I accidentally did a tighter drawing than originally intended, but fear not: I also have some bonus stupidity featuring its favorite food: the humble konchu.

((This was a labor of love, a creation based on an incredible illustration that Armax_Hammer (@capybonara) made during an artstream years ago. I have adored this image for years, and it's been a goal of mine to recreate it in some form as thanks for all the incredible art she's made of my characters.))

The 3D modeling was 100% completed within Blender, though I used the original artpiece and some SFM modeling to get the pose and proportions right. I learned how to use Blender exclusively so that I could work on this (to the chagrin, no doubt, of every professional Blender sculptor, who would advise beginners to start with something MUCH MUCH simpler). It's probably due to that fact in particular that this took months to complete, not to mention an additional month spent optimizing it for print (to say nothing of the time spent hollowing Dwick's chonkiness out to save cost on material XD).

But man, I have to say - it was absolutely worth it to be able to hold it in the palm of my hand.

Absolutely amazing

@ddsbturp made a personal goal to learn blender and create something with our characters. He decided to tackle this dancing pic I drew of our krogan, Dwick and Lydia XD and since january has been toiling away teaching himself to use the program and shape out Dwick's massive proportions. Its been a lot of fun watching the progress. We discussed the changes, like the hat and sword were kept out. And when looking into printing options he had to "hollow" out Dwick otherwise the price would be INSANE due to all his mass. Despite the changes Dwick is still pretty hefty!

Just last month he finally finished it and we saved up to get a 3D print of it. And the final product arrived today :D Seeing it evolve from image, to model to a physical thing we can hold in our hands is really cool. We're both so happy and I know you're reading this so wanna say congrats and I'm so proud of you!

Elderflower champagne!

Three weeks of fermenting later, this is finally ready to taste and it's delicious - light, floral, carbonated, and only slightly alcoholic (you can taste that it's not strong, and elderflower champagne tends to cap out at about 4% if you don't add extra yeast).

This recipe is super simple - you add heads of elderflower to cold water, sugar and lemon and let the tea sit for 24 hours. It can then be strained into clean, plastic bottles and left to ferment for a few weeks, depending on how warm it is. You can add extra yeast if you want a more alcoholic beverage, but the natural yeasts on the elderflowers are enough to ferment for a fizzy, low-alcohol drink.

You do need to 'burp' the bottles (release the cap slightly to let some air out) every so often, to avoid the pressure splitting the plastic - this is why it shouldn't be done in glass bottles, unless you have an airlock to let out the gas, or you'll get explosions!

Some sediment will gather at the bottom - this is a normal byproduct of the yeasts and is harmless, but unpleasant if you shake the bottle too much and get it in your glass. I had one out of the three bottles actually go mouldy, which was a shame, but the other two have worker perfectly.

I cooled it in the fridge for a few hours before tasting it, and I'm so glad I put the time into it!

In the event that anyone is interested in the sticker shop mentioned in my previous post, we're starting it up over here! As of the moment I'm posting this, we just have a couple designs up. But as she draws more, I'm working on getting them into Printify and then onto Etsy.

More are currently in the works because there's a little bit of a backlog of her designs that I haven't gotten switched over yet. But they're coming!
