hope you’ve been well so far! i know i haven’t been very active on here ( or elsewhere for that matter sjdklfsj ) and that i owe a TON of things…i promise i’m not ignoring ppl, i do intend on getting to everything here- work’s been….sucking my soul out recently 😅 but it will be slowing down soon so i’ll definitely have more energy to write then! that being said, i have an announcement to make:

in the next few days ( or next week, who knows ) i’ll be moving blogs. along with making a few adjustments to how i run my blog(s), i really just need a fresh start…but also following-wise, i’m going to trim down my following as much as i can aka keeping it to mostly friends ( you know who you are ) and blogs i’m interested in interacting with more. threads and ask memes ( which are SO late- apologies ) will also be transferred over.

2. If you had to give up your keyboard and write your stories exclusively by hand, could you do it? If you already write everything by hand, a) are you a wizard and b) pen or pencil?

this is where i tell you that i am WEAK and absolutely could NOT do it 😭 tumblr roleplay is how i got good at writing, which means i also accidentally trained myself to focus writing wise only when i'm writing on a screen JFKLSDJFKLDSJ

that being said, even if i am not a wizard, i use exclusive black gel pens to write reminders on post-it notes and in my planner!!

13. What is a subject matter that is incredibly difficult for you write about? What is easy?

i'm really bad at writing physical descriptions and when i say that, i mean i'm bad at incorporating it in my writing without making it sound...clunky. this is the main reason my writing almost never includes descriptions about bodies :D

as for what's easy....hm, i think i'm good at writing just...character analyses?? like observing the mundane and then gleaning some kind of revelation as a sort. that tends to be my bread and butter 😌

16. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever used as a bookmark?

hmm, well i'm a heathen and i actually don't use bookmarks- i tend to remember page numbers well, but if i need a bookmark, i'll usually use an old receipt!

17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.

HAHAHA that would be my thesis- okay so you know the history portion in mana's profile. yeah, so that's my thesis 🙃 i mean honestly...i do think that the relationship between her and her grandma is a LOT more complicated than the impression might give on here and the beauty about prose is that well....i get to explore that more :D it’s just not something that gets touched upon a lot in my tumblr writing, just as mana and calum’s romantic relationship isn’t nearly as prominent in my thesis as it is here...

basically, even if i’m using the same characters for writing both on and off tumblr, the subjects of history are pretty different so i don’t have to worry about getting bored of writing the same thing.

other things i wanna write tho....another drabble set for patrick in his main verse...oh! and maybe one between him and suki in the black knight verse- honestly, there’s SO MUCH i wanna write out for all of my characters, just haven’t had a lot of time to write RIP 😭

38. What is something about your writing process YOU think is Really Weird? If you are comfortable, please share. If you’re not comfortable, what do you think cats say about us?

hmmmm well for people here, they wouldn’t think it’s weird, but the fact that i got into writing because of tumblr roleplay is considered strange among the other writers i know from my grad program....actually once i did write a short story about tumblr rp 😂, they found the concept to be absolutely fascinating and niche jsklfjslkdj but i guess i do find it strange how roleplay played such a huge part in well what i want to do in life overall so yeah FJSKFLJ

39. What keeps you writing when you feel like giving up?

mmm, i’ve become so attached to some of my characters i honestly could never see myself completely abandoning them...this might not be the healthiest answer but honestly, writing in general is basically my addiction....i don’t feel right if i don’t do it for a long time ( so you can see how my hiatus was absolutely terrible...🙃 ) i guess obligation and love for my characters at this point?

your attitude on dash really makes or breaks for me whether i want to stick around for the long run. like, seriously, you could be the slowest writer but if you treat your mutuals with respect and genuine care, i will be MORE than happy to wait. on the other hand, i've met people who are very quick responders but their attitude on dash and in dms leaves...little to be envious of 🙃

am i the only one who like...actually reads threads that my mutuals have with one another? like i understand the whole wanting to give privacy...but ALSO they’re stories...more content for characters and portrayals i’ve become attached to :D honestly, i would just be flattered if someone was reading my threads ( that didn’t involve them ) for fun :D

i feel like a lot people forget that rp is a SOCIAL ACTIVITY...meaning when you’re writing a thread with someone or plotting or anything else on this hellsite, you’re usually doing it in conjunction with another individual...it’s not a one-person show, people don’t like to feel like their characters are being used to make the other partner’s muse look good. think of it like conversations...a good conversation puts both individuals in the spotlight. one-sided conversations end quicker and usually don’t have both parties coming back for more.

and on that note, another thing i feel like A LOT of ppl forget is that rp writing partners, when you plot with them and writing with them....that’s a relationship. a relationship that both parties have put effort into building ( and hopefully it’s a friendship, however distant ). you can’t just throw them away casually!! this is the main reason i can’t stand ghosters. like of course if it’s with casual mutuals, unfollowing/softblocking is fine!! but if it’s a partner you’ve plotted with extensively/chatted with ooc wise, i think they are owed at least a notice that you don’t want to write with them....you don’t even have to explain yourself, just say you don’t want to write anymore!! it’s okay if you don’t want to write with them anymore, what’s not okay is ditching them without any communication...that’s mean and full offense, it tells me that person is not mature enough to communicate their needs and quite frankly, selfish.

and one more for the road:

i feel like the rpc talks a lot about passive replies, but can we also talk about passive partners in plotting? or just self-centered partners in the plotting process?? those two are terrible individuals to plot with....for one thing it sucks the joy out of the process if a. one person is not pulling their weight in giving their ideas to the plot/dynamic, but also b. one person talks exclusively about their own muse and doesn’t show curiosity for their partner’s muse....plotting is supposed to be more casual which also means there’s no excuse in not asking questions and just...being interested in the other person’s muse as much as your own?? basically this is the also the reason that while while i adore plotting, i also tend to be selective with who i plot with :/

hello winter bc you have enabled me i will be talking about smut here for a hot second JFKLSDJF okay so i find really weird when characters are referred to as 'doms' or 'subs' like in noun form bc i like to think?? there's more than one way of showing these categories of behaviors BUT also i think it's rather reductive to say a. ‘this is all my muse is- a role in sex’ and b. ‘this is the sexual/emotional role my muse takes on in ALL OF THEIR RELATIONSHIPS’ because?? i would think?? that people are different versions of themselves around different people? like of course the core attributes are hopefully the same, but they’re not going to behave exactly the same way in say multiple ships. otherwise that would be just mean you have the same kind of ships for your character...

also being a top does not always mean being a dom and being a bottom does not always mean being a sub- can’t stand it when people don’t make that distinction...again, it also reductive to me to reduce characters down to just what position they like to get in bed as that’s only ONE PART of their life... that and from my understanding being a ‘top’/’bottom’ is a s*exual position...but being a ‘dom’/’sub’ is an emotional role that often occurs in s*ex :/

listen i believe in the idea that one should play their character true to who they are...that being said, it should NEVER be the cost of a. either of the muns' comfort or b. the accessibility of interacting with a character...aka if your character is a super reserved and a loner, you still have to give partners opportunities for their muses to interact with your muse. rp is SOCIAL ACTIVITY because while it is important to remain true to your character, if doing that means making it almost impossible for anyone to establish a connection with your character....well, write a prose instead.

and on that note, i know there been a BIG vibe around a lot of blogs these days of ‘don’t like the way i run my blog, deal with it or unfollow’, which is again, valid, but then also they can’t throw a fit when ppl actually unfollow bc they aren’t willing to have some consideration for their mutuals....relationships are going to be full of compromises i’ve found and while natural compatibility does play a role in who people in the rpc gravitate towards, a part of nurturing those bonds comes understanding and being willing to adapt rp styles ( and dash behaviors ) so things continue to run smoothly....of course communication of boundaries should always play a HUGE role in this as well.

hi, friends! I don’t rly want to make an official post or a big thing of it but… I’m thinking of offering some graphics to make a little extra money,, so if anyone is interested, pls do let me know!!

my greatest strengths are:

SCREENCAPS!! oodles and oodles of screencaps. if you want more icons, but don’t feel like doing the time consuming and tedious act of getting caps, I gotchu. I will also crop them neatly, and size them to whatever dimensions you want, so you can just pop them into your psd/border n go. ( i could also do that for you, but I cannot charge for someone else’s borders, so that would NOT be reflected in the price… & ofc credit for their border / psd must be given on your page somewhere !! )

however, I did make this lil border / icon template by myself ;

so I might be able to do SOMETHING for u but idk ajsjja. i’m not an expert at that part!! can’t guarantee quality. flat screencaps + adding it to a template of your choice is probably the safest best ngl asjajj. I’M BETTER AT THE GRUNT WORK.

anyway, my other, more creative, offering is MANIPS. I’ve gotten… fairly decent at them. if you want a manip of your character + another character, i can do that!! some recent examples. 

I can also make gifs / base gif icons for you!! np. 👌

if there’s something else you want, I can try to do it, but we’ll have to discuss it! im not very good at promos for example. I use templates to make mine, and I cannot sell anything that has someone else’s template / psd in it as if it were all my own work.

prices are whatever you can offer!! i’d guess maybe like usd 5 - 10 $ ?? 5 for a manip; 10 for a big batch of icons. 10 for a smaller batch of gif icons. ( gifs are a bigger pain, sorry asjjaj ) i am ofcourse open to less tho!! even spare change can help pay for the exorbitant cost of gas since i’m running around town like crazy rn !! 

any profit would go towards vet / living fees for my doggies. explanation under the read more. payment would be through kofi, or… possibly that tumblr tip thing JSAJAJ i could turn it on temporarily.  in exchange for any patronage, you would get my eternal gratitude + a complimentary pic of my dogs; they are beautiful : ) aksjajj
