Swamp!Sans:
He normally detested humans. With their annoying airboats and shrieky voices. They disturbed him when entering his territory, scaring away all the good prey and disrupting the stagnant slow-moving waters that he called home.
And yet?.... You seemed to be an exception...
Your voice was beautiful. A beautiful beacon calling to him across the wet marshy landscape.
He had to get closer.
His large form skillfully weaved through the murky waters and woody vegetation.
Past the chirring insects and the patches of algae that cover the water.
And there you were. Sat on the edge of a rickety old dock, feet swaying haphazardly over the edge. Such cute little things; your feet. He could just reach up and grab them if he wanted... He carefully moved through the water, skimming the edge of a log for cover.
The song you were singing was light and cheerful, not something he’s used to hearing from humans. Most humans he’s come across were loud, always shouting, disrupting the waters as they fished for sport. Yet here you were, a soft quiet human humming a sweet tune that rivaled the songbirds that trilled in the mornings when the waters were cool and misty.
You pumped your feet along to the beat, tapping slightly on the wood underneath you. It was adorable. He wonders what sort of jovial words could match such a jivey tune.
Just as he dared to inch a bit closer a voice called out to you, making you turn your head. Dinner. Dinner was ready. Your humming stopped and you pulled yourself up off of the ledge, dusting yourself off before taking one more glance around the murky waters before you went.
Sans ducked down when your gaze traveled over the log he hid behind, waiting for what seemed like an eternity before you finally turned and started walking back off the dock and up a pathway.
Just like that, you were gone.
He felt a pang in his ribcage as his webbed bony fingers clenched the bark of the downed log, carving deep marks. He hopes you come back sometime soon. Singing that sweet song....
He can’t help but wonder what it would sound like...if you sang for him?
