oh omg hi!!!! tysm for the permission! im honestly not a great writer (tho i am good at critical analysis), but your post really inspired me! so thank you for your mind ^_^ i have 3 poems + a short story due on Tuesday so im super grateful for any inspiration that helps me develop them further. the idea would work even outside of poetry, the convo starter of like "i think it would be so cool to be x" would be a great way to develop charas in a short story. i honestly didnt think anyone would be interested in my writing so ty for the encouragement...! if anything comes out of it i will be sure to post my work

#reblogging again because i want to say this is a good idea for a poem #things youd rather be ..or just things that would be cool to be #my intro to creative writing prof says the longer the poem the better so you could really make it languid #go through the perspective of each thing #and then to be vulnerable- admit what about the thing makes it uniquely appealing to *you* #idk what the turns would be tho. you could end a poem like that in a lot of different ways #this would give great opportunities for concrete details beyond metaphor tho. #like the filament detail...what would it be like to be that after it's burnt out? #you can project so much emotion onto inanimate objects if youre open about it... #i would probably take the poem in a very depressing direction if i was writing it (an ending like...but im stuck in this body.... #which could also connect to my personal feelings of both body and gender dysmorphia) #but i could also be accepting about it and try to find ways i can embody what i admire about the objects/things of my choosing #you can make progress every day to expressing your interiority. it builds up. at least thats what i believe to not kms #sorry op i kind of hijacked your post for poem development...i honestly might go with this idea fr... #(if i do write it i will not use any of the things listed in the post) #i literally just got out of my final creative writing class of the semester so seeing this post . crossed the wires in my brain #some of mine: a shark tooth. a birds nest. a giant hercules beetle. volcanic rock i go on field trips to look at
