One of the most beautiful stories I have read, based on one of the most beautiful movies. I can't recommend l’esprit de l’escalier by Seekwill enough. The sweetness of missed connections and a non-canon compliant version of Good Omens. Also read The Golden Handcuffs by Seekwill if you want to visit more of their gorgeous story telling.

Good Omens/Red, White Royal Blue AU

Because I have ideas and no follow through, please someone write this for me:

Aziraphale is second in line to the throne behind his cousin Michael, daughter of King Metratron (honestly couldn't make him Aziraphale's dad). Crowley is the brother of Gabriel, President of the United States. Anathama, Gabriel's chief of staff, keeps insisting on throwing Crowley into publicity stunts with Aziraphale after an initial disaster with a cake at the Metratron's Golden Jubilee. Slowly, their snarking and bastardry result in slow burn ignition and they need to deal with the fallout of an public-eye gay romance that neither side supports. Also, Newt is Aziraphale's sweet but incompetent equerry.
