random  facts  about  nier  &  other  things:

it  never  really  gets  completely  black  outside  when  it’s  night  time  ( ?? )  ,  something  that’s  changed  from  a  long  time  ago.  shades  would  have  been  extremely  brutal  ,  but  the  sun  still  somewhat  remains  despite  how  late  it  is.

he  is  unable  to  process  emotions  well  &  it’s  been  that  way  since  childhood  ;  from  his  fathers’  passing   &   his  mothers’  later  passing  at  just 10  years  old.

money  was  always  extremely  tight  ,  especially  due  to  the  cost  of  yonahs’  medicine  ,  hence  why  he  would  have  to  resort  to  odd  jobs  &  selling  things  from  his  home  (  mothers’  clothing  )  ,  there  was  even  a  point  where  he  had  to  consider  selling  the  house  itself.

he  established  thoughts  that  SHADES  MAY  HAVE  BEEN  HUMAN  at  some  point  when  he  went  on  a  shade  slaying  hunt  ,  seeing  how  the  taller  shades  would  bleed  similar  when  they’re  injured.

extreme  tw  abuse  /  trauma  implications

nier  did  absolutely  everything  for  yonah  to  the  point  of  selling  his  own  entirety  to  a  man  he  encountered  at  seafront  ,  it  eventually  led  him  to  develop  a  habit  of  tying  his  hair  later  on  because  he  couldn’t  stand  to  have  it  touch  his  shoulders  /  having  it  touch  him  at  all  /  having  people  touch  it.  to  this  day  ,  the  thought  of  going  to  seafront  &  seeing  that  house  ,  is  still  dreadful.

popola  &  devola  may  have  caught  wind  of  what  nier  was  doing  &  directed  him  to  shade  slaying  jobs  since  it  paid  higher  than  the  misc.  jobs  he  was  doing.  he  could  tell  they  might  have  noticed  due  to  the  look  in  popolas’  eyes.

nier  developed  somewhat  of  a  sick  satisfaction  slaughtering  shades  from  the beginning  of  killing  them.  it  may  have  been  some  kind  of  emotional  outlet  for  him.

nier  absolutely  loves  yonah  ,  he  would  do  absolutely  anything.  &  the  thought  of  being  alone  /  losing  his  only  family  devastates  him.  his  whole  life  revolved  around  protecting  /  helping  yonah  that  he  has  a disregard  for  his  own  being.

It all happened so fast. One moment Cornell had been kneeling in the dirt, gasping for air and bracing for the next inevitable swing from the shade looming overhead, the next… nothing. Nothing save for a weak, warbled gurgle as the aforementioned creature toppled over and dispersed in an ashy mist. Well that certainly hadn’t been his going.

With the wind still knocked out of him, Cornell set a hand on his stomach while carefully craning his neck back, wanting to see who - or what - had slain the shade with such ease. Suffice it to say that the unicorn wasn’t expecting someone with such kind eyes to be staring down at him.

“Tha… Thank you.” Cornell now made an attempt to stand, taking some deep, shuddering breaths as he did so. “If you hadn’t come, I fear… Oh Gods my chest–”

one  runs  at  the  face  of  danger   &   slaughters  it  ;  mist  /  blood  disperses  from  the  edge  of  rusted  steel   &   wind  ,  yet  the  thirst  of  its’  vengeance  is  unquenched  still.   however  ,  there  is  good  in  it  ,  he  was  able  to  save  someone.  soon  rushing  toward  him  from  seeing  the  patent  wound  that  was  sustained   &   the  abrupt  movements  that  followed  ,  he  spoke  urgency  ,   “  stay  still━━   we’ve  got  to  treat  your  injuries  first.  “

from  his  pocket  ;  he  withdrew  herbs  of  medicine  ,  tearing  at  the  leaves   &   crushing  them  within  its’  container  to  create  an  effective  poultice  with  a  few  drops  of  remaining  salve  that  was used  to  tend  his  own  wounds  prior━━   to  hopefully  further  its’  reaction.     &    along  an  open  hand  ,  did  it  extend  to  in  offer  ,   “  here━━    I  hope  it  helps.  “

with  those  words  did  he  attempt  to  question  the  cause  ,  just  what  was  this  person  doing  in  a  place  like  this  ,  he wonders━━  due  to  the  dangers  of  it.  “  what  were  you  doing  out  here  ?  “

For creatures seemingly made of shadow and smoke, these shades offered surprising resistance to the edge of a blade. All the same, they gave Cloud no time to question their nature, and he wasn’t particularly inclined to do so when they kept relentlessly charging at him. This was a job like any other: he had been hired to clear the area of monsters, and that was exactly what he intended to do.

What he hadn’t expected was to encounter another who had been given the same task - perhaps the client had thought this would be a two man job. Cloud hoisted his sword from where it had embedded into the soft ground, the fallen shade it had moments ago passed through already dissipating where it had fallen. “Heads up,” he called back a warning to the one he now fought beside. “Looks like we have more company coming.”

shards  like  glass  coruscate  ;  unsheathing  beastbain  within  cladded - palms  in  utmost  ease  ,  a  wont  birthed  by  youth    &    war.  it  slings  from  fore  to  side  ,  until  its’  point  nestles  onto  the  ground  for  a  position  primed  to  cleave.  amidst  it  ,  he  emits    “  right━━  “    to  the  other  in  reply  ,  readily  shown  vigilance  in  stance  but  he  cants  his  head  slight  sideward  with  an  inaudible  sigh  (  he’s  grown  tired  ,  accustomed  ,  yet  still  he  fights  ).  “  it  wouldn’t  be  the  first.  “ 

from  towering  to  little  did  shadows  begin  to  surround  ;  his  clutch  furthers  then   &   he  heavily  swings  forrad  across  to  sever  a  single  tall  shade  at  first  then  retracts  with  the  same  force  in  order  to  slash  another  aside  it  ,  stepping  just  a  single  foot  forth  in  calculated  balance  with  his  upper  torso  rotating  ever - slightly  to  level  the  blow━━━  ere  being  saturated  in  its’  crimson.  aft  ,  he  steps  back  to  return  to  previous  combat  bearing  ,  glancing  at  the  stranger  by  the  corner  of  sight   &   an  inquisitive  tone  addresses  him  ,    “  by  the  way━━  are  you  a  mercenary  too  ?  “   it  didn’t  seem  unlikely  by  the  weaponry  ,  although  anything  could  seem  likely  in  this  world  too.

Where he plays upon the harp and be surrounded by animals like he was a princess from fairy tails. the stranger was pretty in a boying way that retained youth. 

 “Are you a stranger to the kingdom? I have not seen someone like you before.”
