I just found out one of my favorite AO3 authors of all time is a fucking neurosurgeon which was surprising initially just because I often forget AO3 writers are real people and not smut angels sent down from the heavens to make us feel alive, but in hindsight it makes perfect sense.
they are a fucking genius so. they just apply that genius to multiple fields.

I call upon the fan fic writing gods to bless you with the perseverance to finish one of your unfinished drafts.
May your fingers dance along the letters upon your device with ease, may the devil of distraction stay far from you, and may your work not need much editing.
I pass this blessing upon every fan fic writer out there.

I haven’t watched The Bad Batch, but I just want to say that I’m so glad to see you all are happy with the series finale. I only want the best for my fandom friends.

You're not weak, you're tired because you have been trying so hard when you are already so overwhelmed. You're not lazy, you're sick and burned out. You're not giving up on yourself when you take a break to rest. You're not unproductive or useless because you are not like other people. You are not a projection of other's' desires. Try projecting your own needs outwardly, communicate when you need help and prioritize your own comfort, your rest, your recovery.

My son is choosing his ‘grunting voice’ in a new tennis game he got, and I am dying. I almost choked on my drink. It is so funny! 😂

It is okay to not be “over it”.
I know a lot of us struggle silently, afraid our loved ones will judge us. Afraid they’ll think it’s been long enough.
There is no time line. There is no rule book. Some days are better than others. Some weeks. Some months.
Trauma doesn’t just go away and the bad days creep up on us and we feel we should suffer alone because it’s been “so long” and we should have “moved on”.
It is okay. It’s normal. You aren’t failing or weak. I promise.

Thanks for the question, Anon! I had to combine the “10” with the “more than 10” because I ran out of space! Hope it works.
For me I have a lot of health issues and can’t work because of it, and family issues as well, but if it was a perfect world, I would choose two kids. That way they have each other.

we need another bidoof’s law to refer to the phenomenon where someone says some rude stupid shit in the reblogs of your post and you go to their blog and all their posts are about nature loving you and being kind to each other and cute illustrations about friendship etc. the cognitive dissonance

It’s true that you have to “play the hand you’ve been dealt.”
It is still valid to find it unfair that you’ve been dealt that hand. It’s okay to be upset about it. It’s reasonable to wish things had been different. It’s completely understandable if you have feelings about it, and if you struggle to deal with them.
Accepting the facts of a situation does not mean you have to pretend everything is okay.
