listen i've been where u are mentally and it's really hard but u need to change ur mentality. do u send people asks? do u reply to posts? are u an active reblogger? engagement/community doesn't come from thin air online. u constantly have people reassuring u ur mods are good, that they appreciate u, they show interest in ur ocs. focus on that instead of the evil brain worms! it takes discipline and time but if u put in the mental effort to focus on the good it will get easier. i'm sorry ur sick as well, that doesn't help. but there's only so much the people around u can do and say to reassure u before it's really up to u. said with love.
i 100% agree w u anon, and it's very true that i genuinely need to engage more w people. to be completely honest i've lost interest/energy in interacting with tumblr for a while but it's true that i can't complain about not getting attention when i don't do the same. idk if this will make sense but i'm basically someone that needs to be prompted to do things, like "hey can you send me asks/reblog this/etc" because i often get the feeling that i'm annoying people and being cringey. which i know it isn't true, and i'm not using this as an excuse, just explaining where i can come from sometimes. also i'm genuinely interested in continuing this conversation if you'd like so please go off anon, i'm not going to get angry with you and i 100% understand where you're coming from!

Israel is setting up a complex system of checkpoints that will prevent men of “military age” from fleeing Rafah in preparation for its offensive on the southern Gaza border city, a senior western official familiar with Israel’s plans has told Middle East Eye on condition of anonymity. The checkpoints are designed to allow some women and children to leave Rafah ahead of an expected Israeli offensive, but unarmed, civilian Palestinian men will likely be separated from their families and remain trapped in Rafah during an expected Israeli assault. The previously unreported disclosure of Israel’s construction of a ring of checkpoints around Rafah underscores how Israel is pushing ahead with plans to attack the city where over one million displaced Palestinians are sheltering in tents and makeshift camps. The creation of gender-based checkpoints around Rafah would put a spotlight back on Israel’s practice of stripping and forcibly detaining male Palestinian men and children, as it faces rising scrutiny in the West of its conduct in the war. The rounding up of Palestinian males in Gaza and photographing them stripped to their underwear drew condemnation in December, with the US calling the images “deeply disturbing”. Relatives of many of the men photographed recognised them and said they had nothing to do with Hamas. Israel's military was later accused of staging footage of men surrounding weapons. “Israel considers every male a Hamas fighter until proven otherwise,” Abbas Dahouk, a former senior military advisor at the State Department and military attache in the Middle East told Middle East Eye. “It’s not a sound move. Cordoning Rafah is a daunting task and good luck separating fathers and sons from their families.”

i'm being a hater about dungeon meshi below the cut so warning for anyone that likes it
i can imagine that the fandom has some bad sides too but iwtv winning the most annoying fandom poll over dungeon meshi is really wild. the iwtv fandom can be irritating but honestly it's been pretty self contained for me and i haven't encountered it a lot (unless i pureposefully seek it out) whereas dungeon meshi is EVERYWHERE. like good for all of you but i'm getting so tired of it god bless
also mutuals please don't take this as an attack against you or as me saying that you need to stop posting about it, i have all the tags and words muted and have filtered my space pretty well so talk about it as much as you'd like! it just seems inescapable 😭

not to be all "damn normies invading our precious hobbies that we should gatekeep" but it's been really wild seeing the amount of fame fallout has been getting lately thanks to the tv series. like people around me irl who mostly just watch the office and whose idea of videogames is super mario and candy crush are suddenly watching it and know what a fallout is. it's honestly crazy to see.
and no i'm not saying that fallout is a tiny hidden indie gem (not at all), but tbh, the moment you step out of the us or any other english-speaking countries, most of the videogames that you would assume are pretty well known/cult classics are a lot more niche outside of dedicated gaming circles. so watching the amount of attention fallout has gotten here thanks to the show is fucking wild

HELPGAZACHILDREN!!!!!
Med @fairuzfan’s blog got terminated by tumblr which is obviously unjust for all the people who rely on them for resources on Palestine, but it now leaves Hussam’s helpgazachildren donation drive without a point of communication, and has deleted all previous information Med had shared about the drive.
Please remember to keep donating to helpgazachildren as Hussam’s hard work getting resources to families in Gaza should not have to be hindered while Med is working on getting their blog back 🤍🇵🇸

From the Freedom Flotilla, April 27 2024:
On Thursday afternoon, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition was contacted by the Guinea Bissau International Ships Registry (GBISR), requesting an inspection of our lead ship – Akdenez. This was a highly unusual request as our ship had already passed all required inspections; nevertheless, we agreed. The inspector arrived on Thursday evening. On Friday afternoon, before the inspection was completed, the GBISR, in a blatantly political move, informed the Freedom Flotilla Coalition that it had withdrawn the Guinea Bissau flag from two of the Freedom Flotilla’s ships, one of which is our cargo ship, already loaded with over 5000 tons of life-saving aid for the Palestinians of Gaza. In its communication informing us of this cancelation, the GBISR made specific reference to our planned mission to Gaza. It also made several extraordinary requests for information, including confirmation of the ships’ destination, any potential additional port calls, and the discharge port for humanitarian aid and estimated arrival dates and times. It further demanded a formal letter explicitly approving the transportation of humanitarian aid and a complete manifest of the cargo. Again, this is a highly unusual move from a flagging authority. Normally, national flagging authorities concern themselves only with safety and related standards on vessels bearing their flag, and are not concerned with the destination, route, cargo manifests or the nature of a specific voyage. Just like when you register your car, the authorities don’t require you to detail to them every place you are going to go with the car. Sadly, Guinea-Bissau has allowed itself to become complicit in Israel’s deliberate starvation, illegal siege and genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Israel is showing the world the extent to which it will go to deny Palestinians the aid they need to stay alive, in direct contravention of International Humanitarian Law, UN Security Council resolutions, and two orders of the International Court of Justice. [...] without a flag, we cannot sail. But, this is not the end. Israel cannot and will not crush our resolve to break its illegal siege and reach the people of Gaza. The people of Gaza and all of Palestine remain steadfast under the most horrific, unimaginable conditions. We take strength from their incredible, inexplicable ability to maintain their humanity, dignity and hope when the world has given them no reason to do so. It is our responsibility to keep that hope alive. WE WILL SAIL.
The Freedom Flotilla, which was set to depart from Turkey on the 27th of April with 5000 tons of life-saving aid, has now been delayed because Israel and the United States has pressured Guinea Bissau to withdraw its flag from the Flotilla's lead ship.
Seeing as how their tactics worked on Guinea Bissau, organizers now fear that Israel and the US will exert the same pressure on whichever country the Freedom Flotilla attempt to register their ship under next.
To help the Freedom Flotilla reach Gaza, please keep an eye out for further updates from the organizers. Right now, as of April 27th, they're asking people to help boost their visibility, and to donate to their member campaigns.
For more info, see their webpage.

Hundreds of Jewish anti-war demonstrators have been arrested during a Passover seder that doubled as a protest in New York, as they shut down a major thoroughfare to pray for a ceasefire and urge the Senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer, to end US military aid to Israel.
The 300 or so arrests took place on Tuesday night at Grand Army Plaza, on the doorstep of Schumer’s Brooklyn residence, where thousands of mostly Jewish New Yorkers gathered for the seder, a ritual that marked the second night of the holiday celebrated as a festival of freedom by Jews worldwide.
The seder came just before the US Senate resoundingly passed a military package that includes $26bn for Israel.
