if you're going to make art do it yourself even if you're not technically "talented". it doesn't matter if you can use a machine & it looks decent- the stuff is boring & uncreative not bc ai was used, but bc the person clicking generate isn't trying to make art. Just something that imitates it.

Been p silent on here, as I've been slow posting (stuff that doesn't pertain to this tumblr) on twitterX. I've also been watching a bunch of anime and older arthouse movies. Some of that watching relates to working on a big blog (It's gonna be cut into two probably) about Takeshi Shudo's writing. (Specifically thru the lends of the wonderful Goshogun.) So, look forward to that though I'm taking my time w it. It'll be the true beginning of my blogs on him, so I'm doing it right the first time. I also write fiction so I've worked on that a lot. Anyway, happy spooky season.

Ovs he did a lot more stuff but I'll personally always be grateful to Satoru Iwata for his work on pokemon G/S. His programing lead to a lot of great things for that game. I appreciate his work so much because that game wouldn't be what it is without his skill.

I grew up during his CEO era so when he passed I only knew him as that. Since then I've learned a lot about his work before that time and it's like, we lost a legend. Things are and would be so different with his absence. I'm happy he'll be remembered, he did a lot of cool stuff.

I remember when pokemon platinum was announced. I carried an ad for it in my pocket for literal weeks. I was STOKED when I saw Giratina cover. It's beautiful. (If you don't know the irl case is super sparkly as well.)

A bit of an update bc the bird is getting cooked.

I've said it before, but I'll remind twitter is my main social and I use this one to archive posts from there. Big or small, it's fun to have a "best of" place. (And it's way easier to find posts, imo.) Even before that shithead took over the bird, that was the plan for my account here. That will still be true going forward, but there has been one change: I've actually been scheduling posts for the past 2 months and like it a lot. If you're coming here from twitter, then sorry you might get some Dejavu on the TL. That's why.

If twitter goes down completely I'll prob try bluesky, but for now this is my backup for fresh posting. Anyway, if you're from burgerland have a safe sky explosion holiday. The rest of you have a great weekend as well.

I watched the first 5 eps of Horizons back when it aired and I did not enjoy the show. It was pretty boring and just didn't have a lot unique going on. I live tweeted about it and the pokemon finale, I haven't posted them here because I wanted more time to sit with them. Kind of time and place thing. Maybe I'll repost those but update em'. I hope horizons gets a better footing. I said in one of those posts I think the 50 ep format isn't helping the story as it doesn't feel like it and shoulda been longer Ovas with less episodes. Kind of like how ep 1 and 2 were. I'm scheduling this post in late may, just to give it another month or so before putting these thoughts out here where ppl have more of a chance to find em'. It a slow burn series.

I'm not super familiar with Kenneth Anger, but I decided to watch Lucifer Rising . It's a visually beautiful, stunning film. Really cool ideas with the cinematography. You should see it.

Tbh I was looking for another movie of his I SWORE I saw somehow years ago. It looks familiar. Then again, I might be confusing a scene with an old movie my pop watched.

Scorpio rising is a great movie as well. Tbh I've been trying to get into really old experimental cinema as of late and his movies are what I wanted out this experience. I think every movie of his is under an hour, yet there's so much visually to see. It's so cool.

tbh i was never the biggest fan of AAA stuff but I think I got out of videogames being my main hobby at the right time, financial wise. Even a lot of nintendo games just aren't worth it anymore imo. The way these studios act... it's boring at best and disgusting at worst.

Sonic CD will always be my favorite, but between 1, 2, and 3 sonic 1's graphical style is special to me. I really like it. 3 is prob my least fav but that's more "something has to be the bottom." They're all great looking games.

This video shows two interesting video series inspired by petscop but go in their own direction. I can't rec either watching this vid or (even better) seeking them out on your own enough. The two series are really cool as art pieces.

You will probably never see me talk about FPS games because I get really sick playing them. (terrible nausea) They apparently call it simulator sickness. Didn't know it had a name.

The first time it happened I felt so shitty. Like it was barely better than worst case of the flu I ever had. Since then I've been pretty careful. It does suck because I loved goldeneye and could play maybe ten minutes if lucky. I feel fortunate it seems to only be FPS tho.

I'm not too interested in FPS games, but Doom's graphics are so cute and there's such a talented mod community and I can't play em. I can't even do the squidward in the house meme bc I'll get sick if I look too long haha.
